  1. Sorry to hear that, my company is laying off people every week right now too. If you're on LinkedIn, update your profile to show that you're open to a new job. One of my former colleagues did this and got a new job 3 weeks later.
  2. Walking on at Purdue. A couple of ex UNT coaches on that staff.
  3. I just put some numbers up at the top about our transfers. There is a spreadsheet as well with detailed information about each of the guys.
  4. True, I just found this stat interesting. I hate it, but we were a stepping stone for some of the guys that left.
  5. Here are the stats from our current transfer list. I also created a spreadsheet with more details as well. If you need any clarifications about the numbers, please let me know. Transfer Portal Stats.xlsxTransfer Portal Stats.xlsx Number of players lost 14 Players that have started a game (rounded up) 60% Players transfering to P5* 40% Players lost that contributed in 2022 (started or rotational) 50% Position impacted the most TE, WR, and DL (3 each) *Nixon, Shorter, & Gumms are going P5 just don’t know which team yet Transfer Portal Stats.xlsx
  6. Interesting offer. He is originally from the UK, and recently played TE at Arkansas State. Last year at Arkansas State he has 50 Rec 655 yards and 4 TDs. This would be a great pickup.
  7. Zach also said UNT was zeroing in to hire Kenny Perry when it was actually Eric Morris.
  8. Drinking morning coffee, moving the mouse so my boss thinks I'm working, and watching random videos on Instagram. I stumbled across a story on the Red Bull racing Instagram and noticed our very own Jeff Wilson was learning from the pit crew at the Miami race track. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cr1u6FTAAFI/
  9. I hope he likes syrup with his pancakes after going up against our OL.
  10. Agreed, it seems guys like this are being hurt by the transfer portal. The production, size, and grades are there.
  11. It looks like this could be Cam Robertsons replacement. 2nd Team All KJCCC DE. Impressive film and does a good job getting after the QB. Stats:45 Tackles, 19 TFL, 10 Sacks, 3 FF
  12. Graduates in May, so I figure he will be here this summer.
  13. Makes sense, given the time of year, not a bad addition. He played at a high level JUCO and 6-A high school. I imagine the transition will not be to difficult.
  14. Correct, he just committed today.
  15. Originally from Keller, had offers from Buffalo, Incarnate Word, and a few D2 schools. Based on his size, I imagine he will be used a lot in coverage. 44 tackles over 9 games last year. Honorable mention all conference LB. 6'1 210 pounds https://www.buccaneersports.com/sports/fball/2022-23/bios/garnett_chakka_-cj-_kcv6
  16. I do agree with this. The idea was floated around on here a few months ago, but there's a lot of grey area regarding this. For example, if we start a fund, what happens if we pay the athletes, and they don't pay taxes on the funds? Additionally, if we started an LLC to collect funds, we would have to hire a CPA to do our books. That would create independence/compliance issues with my current job. I don't trust the Light the Tower fund. There's zero transparency from them. Someone on the board gave money to them and they didn't even get a receipt/acknowledgement. Why would I donate to them if they don't have their affairs in order? The best course of action is to donate to the athletic department directly. Here's the link. https://bit.ly/3nlXjgQ
  17. The basketball team has a $31 for 31 wins campaign going. I gave to that
  18. Live look at Aune to us GMG folks laughing at him for declaring to the draft.
  19. Congrats to Austin Aune on the invite to the Falcons camp.
  20. I work as a regulatory consultant in the Financial Services world. Just because there are rules in place, it doesn't mean that the businesses will follow them. The regulators (NCAA) need to establish better rules and come down hard (fines/loss of scholarishps) on the ones that abuse them. However, the media checks are clearing so they (NCAA) could careless.
  21. Yeah, pre NIL. Unfortunately, college athletics is now a business. We are a small fish in a big bond when it comes to dollars and cents. Until we get proper funding from boosters/outside organizations, this will continue to happen. Let's enjoy the players we have, hope they are developed, and win some ball games.
  22. XFL or USFL maybe https://www.nfl.com/news/top-undrafted-rookie-free-agents-following-the-2023-nfl-draft
