Speaking of keeping receipts, I need to start keeping car wash receipts because every time I wash my vehicle it rains the next day. The receipt magically disappears in the process.

Thanks for catching it. I recall the fumble as well, it was on the trick play in the 2nd half. I'm still jacked up from last night.

I had the stats from Mean Green Sports up this morning while working on it. It's possible that either I missed it, or they didn't have it updated properly. I can update later this morning when I'm back on my laptop.

What a difference a week makes. Congratulations to Coach Morris on his first victory as the leader of our Mean Green! It was nice to see that the staff made adjustments. The defense came out in a 4 man front a few times and they didn't give up a first down until the 10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. We gave up 432 yards this week, which is a 16% improvement from last week. On offense, we had 47 rushes for 249 yards and 41 (25 completions) passes for 313 yards. We produced a total of 562 yards. We had 1 fumble (screenshot updated). The team had 9 penalties for 115 yards tonight. I am sure there will be a big emphasis on this during the next two weeks. Regardless, we won last night. GMG! Observations: Chandler Rogers was efficient and made plays last night. He had a great command of the offense and did a fantastic job throwing the ball. He completed around 60% of his passes (24-41) for 313 yards and 2 TDs. Additionally, he ran for 45 yards. It seemed most of his runs were for first downs when the pocket broke down. Overall, he was very impressive! Roderic Burns was great all night as well. He was open all night and made several big plays for us. He has 11 receptions for 134 yards. Also, shoutout to Ja'Mori Maclin and Damon Ward they caught both of Chandler's touchdown passes. Ayo Adeyi the La Tech killer had a hell of a game. He had several big runs for us last night. It seems he always does well against La Tech. I was excited to see him step up tonight. He ended up rushing for 148 yards and 2 TDs. Also, shoutout to Oscar Adaway who had 44 yards rushing tonight. He had multiple tough runs that set up first downs for us. Shout out to Noah Rauschenberg and Sawyer Evans tonight. If Pat McAfee watched our game film, I am sure he would be excited to watch these 2 guys. Noah drilled a 25, 22, 48 and 31 yard field goal (game winner). Sawyer Evans had a 64 yard punt that pinned La Tech deep. The defense played much better tonight. They gave up 82 yards less this week, caused multiple 3 and outs, and also had a few big stops on 4th down. I was encouraged to see the coaches make adjustments and play us in the 4 man front on some drives. Shoutout to Mazin "Amazing" Richards who had 5 tackles, 3 for loss, and 1 sack. It was nice to see him blitzing from the edge again. Rod Brown had 3 QB hurries tonight. He did a great job on the 4th down stop late in the game as well. Kevin Wood was our leading tackler with 9 total (7 solo). Logan Wilson was solid in coverage and had 8 tackles (6 solo) tonight. The 2 redshirt freshman Patrick Smith and Ethan Wesloski continue to have big games for us. Patrick had 7 tackles (2 solo) and Ethan had 6 tackles (3 solo). They both did great jobs making tackles in space. Bryce Linder also had 6 tackles (3 solo). It was nice to see the defense respond to the adversity they have faced the last 2 weeks. I hope we continue to improve each week and add more wins. GMG!

Conversation with my wife tonight. Me: Hey honey, can you film me crushing these 2 beers? Her: Why? Me: I need to pay up the bet I lost to my internet friends.

If we win, I will do this

I guess he's not going to go back to the meth capital Upshur County.

Does a week 3 win take the pressure off of the new staff?

Great post, this would be the best possible outcome. -
How do we respond to adversity? Are we old Denton? New Denton? New Old Denton? We are starting our prized transfer QB who played a solid half of football last week. He was accurate, and calm under pressure last week. Let's hope he continues to play mistake free football and we keep the chains moving. Do we play complementary football this week? Does the 3-3-5 stack cause La Tech to crumble? Or do we crumble? I already got my workout in, maybe it's the endorphins from the workout and the caffeine talking. North Texas 38 (40) La Tech pls die 35 (37)

Was Morris the Wrong Hire? (Spoiler.. We Don't Know)

Nice write up JD. I think the biggest frustration is that we literally played for a conference championship last season and almost won our bowl game against Boise State. I'm not in the fire Morris camp, but I'm certainly bummed about the last 2 games. I don't love the 3-3-5 with our current roster. We need to see improvement these next few weeks. If not, I suspect we gut the defense and rebuild it via the transfer portal and JUCO players. -
The streets in Rome were full of trash and pot holes. Kind of similar to Bonnie Brae lol.

I'm making one of my employees go on my behalf. I told him I expect a full report on my desk Monday morning. Jk, I gave my tickets to one of the guys on my team. He's from the area and also graduated from UNT. Hopefully he enjoys the game with his family.

We ran for 41 yards the week before, but yes it's crazy to think about.
-
I looked back at our records on Wikipedia and 1913 was the last time we went winless. The staff needs to make adjustments this week. Maybe we need to have a few different looks and add a few wrinkles to our defensive play calling. On offense, we ran the ball more which was nice. They need to make better decisions throwing the ball. The INTs were horrible on those 3 drives in the 2nd quarter. Also, no more fades thrown in the end zone on 4th and goal.

Before you think I am crazy, let me give you a little background. Back in 2009 or 2010 on this board someone would post pictures of that wizard over the pot. I couldn't find the picture, so this is the best that google will do.
