  1. We all know this season has been a disappointment, but I do have hope that we are going to get some players from the portal/JUCO ranks. So with that being said, who are we losing this off-season? Most of our OL and WRs are returning. Our defense is losing a few bodies, but as we all know, we need new players on the defense. I thought we were losing more on the offensive side of the ball, but I guess that's not the case. It's been mentioned numerous times, but we need to make sure that Maclin and Rogers stay here next year. We need a new LS and Kicker. Hopefully we are able to find these in the portal as well. So while I'm annoyed how the season went, we are not losing a ton of players. I do feel for a few of these guys. It's a shitty way to end a senior season. At least some had success over the years playing for us. Offense: LT Kaci Moreka C/G Daizon Carroll WRs Roderic Burns and Kaylon Horton Defense: DE Mazin Richards DE Kadren Johnson LB Carson Kropp LB Kevin Wood LB/QB Jace Ruder CB John Davis CB Tarik Luckett Special Teams: LS JP Hadley K Noah Rauschenberg
  2. UAB attendance won't break 5,000
  3. I don't know if there are 2,000 people in the stands from the posts I'm seeing on Twitter.
  4. I'm in 106 on row 4 yelling every game. Apologies to the older man and his people that sit in front of me. I'm sure he gets tired of me yelling this is Freaking Horrible, Freaking hit someone. Stop arm tackling. It's an every week occurrence. Also, it seems every opposing team (except Temple) has had fans on my row.
  5. Pitchforks are out lol. Nice job on the podcast.
  6. Sounds like a great place to work. I'm running 5 mins late right now.
  7. SMU 49 UNT 24 Me: There's a tear in my beer.
  8. I'm willing to give him another year but we need to see improvement and get a lot of new players on the defensive side of the ball via the transfer portal and JUCO ranks.
  9. It's next year because we pissed away most of our opportunities this year. FIU, Navy, Tulane, Memphis, and UTSA= opportunities pissed away If we want to go to a bowl game, we have to beat SMU, Tulsa, and UAB. We don't have the defense to beat SMU, and our offense can never seem to get it together until the 2nd half. I didn't expect this year to be a rebuild but here we are. Another wasted year of going to Denton each month sitting in an empty stadium with the same disappointing results. Things have to change next year or the football program is going to start losing some of the diehards. It's pretty damn apparent that this is happening by the lack of attendance this year. I'm not sure if it's the case of Monday, shitty losses by this team and the Cowboys or what, but it's irritating. My rant is over with. One positive thing to note, basketball starts tomorrow.
  10. It would be great and something to build on for next year. However, the odds are very small that we beat them. I'm glad $MU will be gone. It's a one sided rivalry and we don't gain anything by playing them. I take that back, it does lower travel costs.
  11. I wasn't aware but that's an interesting note. Hopefully he likes Denton and see the opportunity for immediate playing time.
  12. The team that just beat us was coached by a former Texas high School football coach. I guess we need to go hire the best Kansas high school football coach. Small slow kids from Kansas are the way to propel this football team forward. Maybe you and some of your fraternity bros can walk on this spring.
  13. With Seth, we also won the games we were supposed to win. It's frustrating that we lose games against bad teams (FIU and Navy). I'm not thrilled with the way this season has progressed, but I am proud of the fight the team has showed the last 3 weeks. I'm going to give this staff one more year but if it doesn't improve next year, I'm really going to question wtf we are doing, and decide to spend my hard earned money and time elsewhere in the fall.
  14. https://uiwcardinals.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/jim-gush/2823 Don't look at the score today, but I didn't hate this scheme. We were able to at least get pressure on the QB and cause turnovers last year.
  15. Well, the season's over. Let's hope SMU doesn't hang 50 on us next week. We're not going to a bowl game. The transfer portal opens up December 4th. I hope we can get some decent depth and size on the defense. What a disappointment of a season.
  16. He's been running for his life most of the game. The OL was dominated that first drive.
  17. If you ever go to Dublin, I highly recommend a visit to the distillery. Myself, something on the lighter side. I usually have Miller, Coors, or a random local craft beer in my cooler.
  18. Former Trinity Euless DL Tonga Lolohea recently received an offer from our staff. He's 6'5 325 according to the TJC roster. They are currently playing him at Nose. It looks like he has offers from Charlotte, FIU, Utah State, SFA, Tarleton, Austin Peay, Houston Christian, and Texas A&M Commerce. We have had success over the years with the Juco players we get from TJC. The Euless Trinity pipeline has been good to us as well. We need size on the DL and I would be thrilled with this addition.
  19. It was cool to see @TheReal_jayDwith the shoutout in the article. Hopefully this is the last time.we face Traylor in the series. I imagine once his Van Wilder QB graduates college he moves on. Arkansas and Baylor could potentially open up next month. It will be interesting to see what transpires.
  20. Visiting Washington St. Maybe he wants to be in the Pac-2.
  21. The teams website doesn't work but according to Wikipedia they were 1-19 last year.
  22. If the offer was pulled after a visit, that's a huge red flag. It seems the team is buying into this new staff. We don't want to ruin it with character issues. Good on the staff if that's the case.
  23. Exactly, let's go replace him with some small slow kid from Kansas instead.
  24. We as in us fans that watch the games. I really doubt they get rid of Caponi after one year. If we don't hit the portal and JUCOs for guys that can play right away, it's going to be a disappointment. I have been saying this throughout the season on here and in my chats with other people that follow the program. I mean it's great that some of the Freshman have played meaningful snaps this year but we need guys that can contribute right away.
