We messed up with the portal. I think everyone knows that. It's time for us to hit the JUCO ranks/portal hard this off-season. If we don't revamp the defense this off-season, it doesn't matter who the DC is. We need new DL and LBs to rotate in. Carson Kropp and Kevin Wood graduate. Mazin Richards and Kadren Johnson graduate. We need at least 3 new DL and 3 new LBs to fill in.

Just addicted to watching bad football like the rest of us. On a side note, glad we won today. It was needed after these last few weeks.

JMU hosted College GameDay a few years ago as well. 1. I don't see College GameDay visiting anyone in our conference. 2. We're 3-7 that would be preposterous for them to even consider visiting us. 3. We need to focus on winning games. I could give a shit less if a show with a coked out frat boy and senile old man that puts mascots heads on, visits our campus. 4. We can't even sell out the student side of our stadium. The year is 2023. Todd Dodge is retired from coaching. His son is the Southlake Carroll Head Coach. Jim Harbaugh was just suspended for 3 games at Michigan for sign stealing. Jimbo Fisher was fired from Texas A&M with a 76 million buyout. I'm still posting nonsense on GMG and we have only 1 bowl win during this 17 year stretch. Depressing.....

No clue what happens with players entering the portal. I just wanted to get a preliminary list of what we are losing per the official roster. There will be departures on the roster after the season ends. It happens every year. I'm sure some kids that never stepped on the field will leave, as well as a few younger guys (homesick, not the right fit, etc...).

I'm not defending Caponi, but our defense was pretty depleted this year. We didn't have any starters over 6'2. Rod Brown did a great job at NT for us. However, we got manhandled on the DL all year. Our LBs are slow and not great at tackling. The secondary is super young. We played so many true freshman this year. Buddy Ryan could have been running the 46 Bear Defensive scheme and we still wouldn't have stopped anyone. We didn't have the personnel to run the 4-2-5 either. Our front 7 have not been good this year. Observations throughout the season: Small DL(Richards playing out of place, DL get manhandledby bigger OL) Slow LBs (We had 2 walk ons and a redshirt freshman playing at LB. Terrible tackling all season.) Young secondary (4-5 freshman and redshirt freshman playing)

We all know this season has been a disappointment, but I do have hope that we are going to get some players from the portal/JUCO ranks. So with that being said, who are we losing this off-season? Most of our OL and WRs are returning. Our defense is losing a few bodies, but as we all know, we need new players on the defense. I thought we were losing more on the offensive side of the ball, but I guess that's not the case. It's been mentioned numerous times, but we need to make sure that Maclin and Rogers stay here next year. We need a new LS and Kicker. Hopefully we are able to find these in the portal as well. So while I'm annoyed how the season went, we are not losing a ton of players. I do feel for a few of these guys. It's a shitty way to end a senior season. At least some had success over the years playing for us. UAB attendance won't break 5,000

I don't know if there are 2,000 people in the stands from the posts I'm seeing on Twitter.

I'm in 106 on row 4 yelling every game. Apologies to the older man and his people that sit in front of me. I'm sure he gets tired of me yelling this is Freaking Horrible, Freaking hit someone. Stop arm tackling. It's an every week occurrence. Also, it seems every opposing team (except Temple) has had fans on my row.

I'm willing to give him another year but we need to see improvement and get a lot of new players on the defensive side of the ball via the transfer portal and JUCO ranks.

It's next year because we pissed away most of our opportunities this year. FIU, Navy, Tulane, Memphis, and UTSA= opportunities pissed away If we want to go to a bowl game, we have to beat SMU, Tulsa, and UAB. We don't have the defense to beat SMU, and our offense can never seem to get it together until the 2nd half. I didn't expect this year to be a rebuild but here we are. Another wasted year of going to Denton each month sitting in an empty stadium with the same disappointing results. Things have to change next year or the football program is going to start losing some of the diehards. It's pretty damn apparent that this is happening by the lack of attendance this year. I'm not sure if it's the case of Monday, shitty losses by this team and the Cowboys or what, but it's irritating. My rant is over with. One positive thing to note, basketball starts tomorrow.
