  1. Reading this article makes me dislike him even more. I feel no sympathy for the kid. If his parents didnt spoil him so much, he probably wouldn't be like this. Tim Tebow and Robert Griffin were big time stars at their schools, and there was not this much drama with them.
  2. This happens every year. Someone commits to us after one of the camps and we are excited about the recruit. Then January rolls around and they change their mind about UNT. Javia Hall, LaRoyce France, the 2 linemen that went to SMU, are a few examples I can think of at the moment. I am not trying to be a negative Nancy, but you do have to realize that these are indecisive teenagers we are recruiting.
  3. Excited for the pickup, but it's only July. Lot of time between now and signing day.
  4. I grew up about 30 mins from the Texas/ Lousyana border. I might get some of my redneck friends from East Texas and go to the game.
  5. I'm actually in Cleveland right now. There was a nice article in the paper about him yesterday. It talked about how he plays with a chip on his shoulder, and how well he is doing for the browns.
  6. Great pickup. Competition will make the qb position better.
  7. The turkey from Rudy's is good. The rest of the food is mediocre. I agree there is not good BBQ in Denton. The best BBQ I have had around here was at Halls grocery in Colleyville. I'm sure there are better places in the metroplex. The best BBQ I have had is back in my hometown of Jefferson, Texas. Joesphs Riverport BBQ is the place. It made the top 50 in Texas Monthly, and is owned by a fellow UNT alumni. Mi Ranchito and El Guapos are not bad. There is also this taqueria off of Bonnie Brae that is not bad. It's east of 35 by the shady apartment complexes and beer barn.
  8. 2000 yard rusher interested in UNT. http://etsn.fm/recruiting-continues-to-gain-steam-for-elkharts-jeffery-wilson/
  9. Intercontinental Suites off St Charles was great. Not too far from the stadium or bourbon st
  10. I was a 5'7 145 soaking wet center at Jefferson High School. Jefferson is now 2A, but we were 3A my junior year. I also was subbed in on the defensive line for the occasional pass rush. I was name to the schools all platinum team which had the schools top players for the past 25 years. It surprised the hell out of me when I got named to it. Two NFL linemen from my school (Bobby Williams and Montrae Holland) were also named to the "all platinum team". I made all district my junior year. We were ranked number 1 in 2A at one point my senior year. I chipped my tooth against LaMichael James' high school my junior year. I tore my ACL while making a bad cut against Kendall Wright on a punt my senior year. We got knocked out of the playoffs by Tatum my junior and senior year in the second round of the playoffs. They won state both years in 3A and 2A. They had Lennon Creer (played at Tenneseee and La Tech) and Bryce Beall (Houston) in their backfield. If the running game wasn't killing us, they would pass the ball to Denarius Moore (Tennesee and current Oakland Raider). Class of 2007
  11. Mothers is awesome. The ferti po boy is delicious. We had a good breakfast at Jimmy J's cafe. They had great french toast and bacon. I saw someone drinking a bacon bloody Mary when we walked in. We stayed at the intercontinental off of St.Charles. It is just a short cab ride from the Superdome.

  13. Committed to UTSA
  14. Breakfast: Old West Lunch: Turkey Sandwich from Rudy's BBQ Dinner: Big Ass Burritto from El Guapos Beer: Loophole or Hooligans
  15. The Ferdi is amazing.
  16. I know several members of the EF coaching staff. Eric King got screwed. He took the football team to the state semifinals this year. The school board wouldn't renew his contract because one of the member's son wasn't getting enough playing time. I am glad to hear a UNT alum got the job, but I hope the same thing doesn't happen to Scott Ford.
  17. They kind of look like our old under armor jerseys. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/southern-miss-introduces-uniforms-effort-distance-itself-winless-185724215--ncaaf.html
  18. I got an under armor away jersey. It was number 65 which was the same number I wore in my playing days. I plan on framing it and adding it to my man cave.

  20. Which area of the stadium is the sale going to be located at?
  21. Sounds like things have changed at Pine Tree.
  22. I am not bashing the kid at all but Pine Tree is horrible at football. They generally are a run first team, and can't throw the ball. I haven't lived in the East Texas area for over 5 years, but I hope that this kid is a diamond in the rough.
  23. What time does it start? I have family coming in town that weekend.
  24. Any person who poses as a Univerity of Texas Longhorn fan by wearing a recently bought jersey, shirt, fleece, hat, or any other sort of university apperal from a Wal-Mart store. This person usually has absolutely no affiliation with the Unviersity or even the city of Austin, but just wants to fit in by wearing winning colors at a cheap price. Thanks urban dictionary
