  1. Mr. Smallwood got a FCS offer from Lamar and decided to go the JUCO route. Regarding the move to DT, I think it was the latter.
  2. We will have around 15 on scholarship next year. We lost 8 OL to graduation and the transfer portal. The following OL are going to be seniors. Paula V Gabe Blair Jett Duncan Larry Moore So the long winded answer is yes.
  3. Nice, he should be in the DL rotation. I know he didn't have a ton of production, but he played in 31 games at a high level program. Exciting to see them address a position of need.
  4. He won't be here until the summer.
  5. DL It's on the Down Low
  6. I'm worried about the defense. Unless one of these HS kids makes an immediate jump to start, it's going to be a lot of the same on that side of the ball in the front 6. The DBs from last year's class and the few additions from the transfer portal should compete for playing time. I hope they spend a lot of time this fall working on tackling drills and learning to play faster in the defense. DE- Vic Alobwede NT- Rod Brown DE- Fatafehi Vailea LB- Jordan Brown LB- JJ Jean Louis LB- Ethan Wesloski CB- Ridge Texada CB- Loronzo Thompson (I expect one of the returning RS FR or Xavion Brice to be in the fold) FS- Bryce Linder (I imagine 3 transfers Spruells, Allen, or Hill will compete for playing time) BS- Phil Hill or Jayven Anderson Star- Evan Jackson (Spruells, Allen, and Hill compete for PT as well)
  7. Polarizing- I remember some of the old faithful fans were offended by his tweets earlier in the year. I don't even remember what it was over, but I saw one miserable fan from North Carolina complaining to Jarred Moseley via Twitter. What a beta move.
  8. Stone Earle walking onto the DATCU turf this spring with the Eric Morris offense. Stone Earle realizing he has the last ranked defense in the country returning without new additions to the front 7. It's not looking good at the moment. Our defense is going to be young with a bad DL and bad LBs. I really hope we see improvement with a second year in the system.
  9. Per 247, these are the current players in the portal without new schools. I'm not sure if any come back. A few never played and were more than likely told to enter the portal. Trey Cleveland (no reported offers) Christian Lee (rumored to be hanging it up) Sifa Leota (multiple FCS and a few CUSA schools have offered) Dillon Williams (no reported offers) Joshua Smith (no reported offers) Dorian Morris (no reported offers) Isaiah Johnson (offer from ACU)
  10. He didn't have a ton of production at West Virginia, but he was a very solid WR at Navarro JC. I think he steps in and plays right away.
  11. https://247sports.com/Player/makyi-lee-46058458/junior-college-268682/ 6'6 327 pound OL that transferred to Mizzou from Coffeyville Junior College. He had 20 plus offers coming our of Coffeyville. It looks like he didn't play at Mizzou. However, I would think a back up at Mizzou would be in contention for playing time at a G5. It will be interesting to see how the OL looks next year with all these P5 transfers.
  12. Neither could our defense last year.
  13. They don’t usually do the puzzle pieces for PWO. But I am happy he's committed to us!
  14. He is receiving interest from schools, but hasn't landed anywhere yet.
  15. It looks like USC is kind of pivoting their transfer portal plans after Miller Moss played well. Chandler could be the starter here or be a glorifed back up at USC. https://www.on3.com/college/usc-trojans/news/miller-moss-holiday-bowl-transfer-portal-plans-lincoln-riley-will-howard/
  16. 2024 Wish List 1. A serviceable QB from the Transfer Portal 2. A defense that isn't rated dead last in the FBS 3. A bowl eligible team 4. Better home crowds throughout the season
  17. I don't think he would start here. He played in 4 games during his college career at Iowa and Kentucky. There was a show he was on Tubi called QB1 Beyond the Lights.
  18. We play them in 2026 and 2030.
  19. We offered him today. I hope we put a full court press on to get him here.
  20. I'm sure they would take him back. However, I'm sure it will be hard for the locker room to take him back.
  21. @GMG24 Thanks for your analysis on the recruits and viewpoints on the current team. It seems we had guys in place to make tackles this year, and they would simply whiff and the ball carrier would grab another 5-10 yards. I'm excited for some of these transfer safeties. They come downhill and tackle. I think Justin Brown, Ethan Wesloski, and JJ-Jean Louis are going to be the main LBs next year. Hopefully everyone benefits from a full season under the new strength and conditioning staff. Morris talked a lot about this during his interview.
