He's not ready to be a head coach yet. 1 year at the FBS level, and numerous years coaching at Gilmer. He ran a spread no huddle offense, and doesn't really play defense. I played against the guy and my family knows him quite well. He's a really nice guy, I just think he needs a few more years under his belt.

Derek Dooley? He is local now and was competitive at La Tech and Tennessee. He inherited a mess at Tennessee, but he did make a bowl game. Reading over his record, though he does look very Mac like. I think the TAMU Commerce coach would be a good hire. Turned around a historical losing school, and knows the state well. He was previously a DC at West Texas A&M.

Jefferson, Texas is a small town in East Texas. It is still stuck in the 1950s. If you think of Mayberry, that is Jefferson. The town is still pretty segregated and there are plantation replicas. I got out as soon as I could.
