I would rather have Jeff Wilson over a washed up Zeke. Jerry is a great business man but a terrible GM.

Cut Zeke and Sign Jeff Wilson. Jerry is incompetent as a GM though, so highly doubtful that happens.

New TP Commitment (5/19/24): Derek Burns Jr

Signed with Troy to the old staff (now at Tulane). Entered the portal after the staff left. He's a local kid that played well at Kilgore JC. This could be a sneaky good addition. He had 9.5 sacks and 35 tackles last year at Kilgore. Looks like he had 19 offers coming out of Kilgore (FCS and G5 schools). The DL should be much improved this fall. -
58 yards of that was against us lol

2 reasons why I said this. 1. He didn't have the same graphic as the other commits. 2. I saw his stats and figured that was the case. 100 yards receiving and 1 TD. Sadly, most of his stats were against our defense. Anyways, happy to have him on board, and I hope he does well here.

Probably a walk on, but who knows.

He played in 11 games last year, decent stats with 47 tackles and 7 sacks. Previously committed to ULM, but backed out after they fired the staff. Seems to be lightly recruited, but does have experience playing in the 3-3-5. He looked pretty good against the run in his highlight tape.

Who was playing QB at your first CFB game?
jtm0097 replied to Glory to the Green's topic in Mean Green Football
I use to live by Richard, he's a great guy. Last I knew, he was QB Coach at WT White in Dallas. First UNT game in 2005, Matt Phillips/Daniel Meager were at QB. I have only been to a handful of non UNT games. One memorable game was the 2006 Independence Bowl. Bobby Reid for Oklahoma State and John Parker Wilson for Alabama. Oklahoma State won the game on a last second FG. Nick Saban took over the program the following month. -
Glad we left that FCS conference.

The RB from Syracuse Juwaun Price and the LB Connor Henderson from Cornell.

We have had a few P5 transfer DL and LBs visit. If they want immediate playing time, they should commit on the spot. JD has the scoop for us as usual. He's the official source of Mean Green Football.

He left us for the pros. How dare him?

Terms have not been disclosed but it looks like he is joining the Raiders. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/jalen-guyton/6381

Apparently he's up in Canada with Mason.

Played in 7 games, 35 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 INT. Maybe he was hurt.

2024 Coaching Caravan locales, dates and times announced

Frisco or Denton would have been nice. I probably won't make the drive to Ft Worth. -

He's playing LB

Loss of depth on our already poor defensive line. Gary has tweeted out hints of 2 new additions to the defensive line. However, who knows how that will pan out. The offense will put up a lot of points again. If our defense can just break the top 100, we should be on the verge of bowl eligibility.

G5s Finally Getting Together......Talking About Their Future
jtm0097 replied to SUMG's topic in Mean Green Football
Include relegation in the model. Teams that play in the G5 championship get automatically moved to P4. Lowest P4 teams, get moved to G5 to replace the two lost teams. -
Reece Mooney and Stone Earle could be gone too

These spring transfers that were gone after 1 semester are entering Raveon Hoston territory. A lot of hype and never step on the field.
