MGB: Source says Tommy Perry has left staff at UNT
jtm0097 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
The college section on Smoaky is entertaining. There are usually a bunch of T Shirt fans bashing each other. Or a bunch of fans that dont have a clue. -

My old coach Anthony Johnson would be a perfect replacement. Has years of experience coaching running backs on the college level, and he is from East Texas. http://www.texassports.com/news/2016/2/13/FB_0213162823.aspx -
It would be a heck of a pick up. He recently decommitted from TCU. Doubt we have a chance. He is getting offers from big 12 schools.

LE has had a ton of talent over the years. They do have problems with discipline at the school. He could be a starter from day one here. Hopefully we are able to get him to come visit over the next few weeks. -

After seeing other TEs were offered, that makes sense. Good luck to him.

Hopefully our staff can hang onto these 2. I can see both of them making an impact here. -

We beat out 2 Big 12 schools for his services. Had offers from Kansas, West Virgina, Marshall, Bowling Green, and Southern Miss. -

Great news on Tyreke Davis! -
I thought someone mentioned that he was walking on next season. I am highly skeptical as well.
-
I am very glad to hear that. Changes were needed at the West End.

Pack heat and avoid the homeless/sketchy people. The DART is disgusting. I am so glad that I don't have to take it to work downtown anymore. On a serious note, we got off at the Fair Park station for the last HOD bowl game. It was a fairly easy walk to the cotton bowl from the station. I would avoid getting off the train to go eat anywhere downtown. The west end stop is a very unsafe area.

MGB: UNT picks up commitment from Manase Mose
jtm0097 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Excited for this pick up. I like that the staff has 4 OL commits right now. The OL play has improved, but we need solid depth. I wouldn't be shocked if some of these guys start right away. -
@dltough is the twitter handle for Coach Leblanc. I tweeted him the link of this topic. Hope it helps.

Popeyes has the best fried chicken

I caught the end of it. Talked about how well the team has bought in this year. They are excited to play locally in a historic venue. Said these last few weeks have been Alec's best practices.
-
Chicken place popular in the Southeast. We went to one in Georgia one time, and it was really good. We tried the one in The Colony, and it was really bad. It is similar to Raisin Canes.

I can never blame a kid for going to the service academies. -

I think I saw him downtown with a cardboard sign asking for money. On second thought, that was a different panhandler.

I watched him play tonight vs Carthage. He was all over the field, and held his own against their offense. He looks like a D1 football player, and will be a good ball player for us. I was not impressed with the DE from Carthage that is committed to UTSA. He was held in check all night by the small OT from China Spring.
