I may be wrong, since this new format is confusing, but I don't think Rice's outcome means a thing to our seeding since they are not in our pod. They cannot finish as a 10 seed, only as high as 11 since you can't jump out of your pod. I also don't know the tie breakers, but considering FAU and us ended at 8-10 and they have beaten us twice this year, I assume they get 9 and we get 10.

Here is why you leave Benford to finish off the season...
NT1978 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
No value judgement here either, but it appears that you are confusing a die hard fan with a never say die fan. As the words mean, a die hard fan can lose interest in the what ever they support, it just takes more to kill the desire to support. A never say die fan's support survives all disappointments. Thanks to all the latter, at North Texas we need all we can get. -

DRC: Benford addresses future after loss to Southern Miss
NT1978 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
We will probably wait until after the conference tournament. We wouldn’t want to risk the well-being of the student athletes on the Women’s team with the added distraction. -
It would take some dope nachos to dull the pain of watching Benford coach.

I am interested in if you were in favor of firing McCarney or Dodge mid season? If not, then I understand your views.

Are you saying that without Benford we might go -1 and 19 in conference?

If you offer to take them to a UNT Basketball game, it is not hard at all to go undated.. -

The complete bowl eligibility breakdown
NT1978 replied to @UNTSportsFan's topic in Mean Green Football
Just for my own education, Article 18.7.2.1.4 reads: "18.7.2.1.4 Exception—Insufficient Number of Eligible Institutions. [FBS] For a period of four years beginning August 2, 2012, if an insufficient number of institutions meet the definition of a “deserving team” pursuant to Bylaw 18.7.2.1 to participate in postseason bowl games in a particular year, an institution that meets a condition set forth below shall be eligible to be selected to participate in such a bowl game. A particular bowl game may benefit from this provision only one time within the four-year period. All institutions that meet the first condition must be selected before an institution that meets the second condition may be selected, and so forth, in descending order: (Adopted: 8/2/12, Revised: 5/2/13) (a) An institution that would have met the exception in Bylaw 18.7.2.1.1 but for the fact that one victory was against a Football Championship Subdivision opponent that had not averaged 90 percent of the permissible maximum number of grants-in-aid per year in football during a rolling two-year period and the institution’s waiver request, per Bylaw 18.7.2.1.1.1, was denied. (b) An institution that has won a number of games against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents and two Football Championship Subdivision opponents that together is equal to or greater than the number of its overall losses. (c) An institution that participated in 13 regular-season contests and finished the season with a record of six wins and seven losses. (d) An institution that is in its final year of reclassification from the Football Championship Subdivision to the Football Bowl Subdivision and meets the definition of a “deserving team” pursuant to Bylaw 18.7.2.1 or the exception in Bylaw 18.7.2.1.1. (e) An institution that finished its season with a minimum of five wins and a maximum of seven losses but achieved a top-five Academic Progress Rate in the Football Bowl Subdivision for the most recent reporting year." Does section (e) mean that they do not have to take the APR in order and can select any that are in the top-five? -
Or at least attempt to pad their wins.
