  1. You have to admit, Benford knows how to pass through a full court press and get layups. That is good coaching. And we are also getting hot at the right time.
  2. A few thoughts on the TT game. UNT's zone defense is actually pretty good. UNT still can't handle the half court trap but amazingly handles the full court press quite well. We just simply cannot score points and I don't know why. The jumbotron at TT illuminates the court and is distracting. What the heck is up with the old men playing in TT pep band. West Texas prairie life really ages these kids? The local Lubbock commercials made me feel weird and kind of sad. Must be mind numbing boredom and isolation out there. Columbus, OH looked fun though.
  3. Televised on TWC (FOXSports) here in Kentucky.
  4. North Texas looks fundamentally sound with the exception of free throw shooting and handling mid court traps. Creighton is indeed a big win and looking back, playing well against Arkansas was no fluke. NT handled Ark. full court press masterfully. Kudos to Benford and let's keep winning.
  5. Well said . Coach Nelson really did amazing things with limited resources. As a student at the time, I always felt NT had a chance to win any game we played, even against Texas. He will always be a North Texas legend.
  6. We lost to a good IU FB team on a long road trip. Hope BigDawg is correct about our offense winning games for us this season.
  7. BINGO ! Always felt they way. SMU is a good school, but overpriced. There are better values out there for sure. Living outside of TEXAS, hearing people distinguish Rice and UT as very good schools academically. I also attended Texas A&M and actually had some one ask me if A&M was a trade school.
  8. Excellent point and thank you (or some other poster) for addressing the "28-4" series lead that SMU holds. Reducing it to a 2-3 SMU lead sounds much better.
  9. Agreed. The Texas game was an embarrassment for UNT. For crying out loud, you guys are in the state of Texas (QB hot-bed U.S.A.) and we don't have a QB that could pass for 10 damn yards.
  10. The snaps were low all night costing valuable time but NT's QBs are not very good (just look at the stats). Surely some of the athletes on this team were QBs in HS or can transition. Anybody over 6 foot that can throw the ball should be evaluated if the $MU game stats are a repeat of the tu game. John Harris (UT) seemed really hard to bring down. He killed UNT last night.
  11. Yes sir he was good.
  12. North Texas: 35 texas:33 Jimmerson rushes for 225 yds and 3 tds.
  13. Thanks GreenBacker. Can't buy Meen Green wear at stores up here, so always on the look out for online stuff.
  14. http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/preps/kentucky-high-school-sports/2014/08/15/report-former-kentucky-coach-guy-morriss-now-warren-central-high-school/14104125/ Warren Central is located a few blocks from WKU in Bowling Green, KY. WCHS is usually talented in football but overshadowed recently by cross town rival Bowling Green HS which has won 3 straight class 5A state championships.
  15. Ahh. Understand. I am very jealous of you guys down there. I don't even have so much as a North Texas sweatshirt. Online stuff is limited. That football will become even more cool as the years go by too.
  16. Way awesome. Wish I had access to cool stuff like this. Couldn't help notice the Milkbones box mixed among the Christmas cookies. What's up with that?
  17. Living in Kentucky for 40 years, I have watched way too much basketball over the years. Instantly recognizable what the problem is. The short of it is this. North Texas has very little talent. Just got there ass handed to them (really 30 points) by 5 mormon white boys. Really no reason to watch this team again. Sure NT will win some more games; but expect some embarrassing games for NT in the near future. NT should recruite out of state (East of the MS River) and stop accepting the losing. Accept nothing short of top 50 or 60 every year to start.
  18. Without a doubt, there are HS teams here in KY that could take NT mens down to the wire, especially ones in Louisville and Hopkinsville. Just amazing to me. I will never understand why North Texans put up with this crap...but you do.
  19. Once told some locals at a barber shop in Denton that they should wait for the announcement that Notre Dame is relocating to TX and replacing UNT and then you will finally have a team worthy of your support. Went over like a baked ham at a bar mitzvah , but I still stand behind my statement 25 yrs later. I will never...ever...understand North Texans and your lack of support of UNT. Just mind blowing.
  20. Come on....one of you techie guys couldn't photoshop something funny onto this man's receipt? What is GoMeanGreen.com coming to?
  21. Yeah..lots of lip from La Tech over the years. They always thought they were in some higher plane of civilization than UNT out there in coon-turd Louisiana for some dumbass reason. I will never understand that bunch out in Ruston and surely this defeat will shut that crap up for a while.
  22. I was a studnet at NTSU in the 80's and being from out of state and having "fresh" eyes on the 1-AA FB sitiuation: it seemed like an inside job dating back pre Hurley. $MU, TAMU (because of their lack self confidence compared to UT) very much wanted to push NTSU down to boost their self worth. Since there are no real facts presented here, thought I would give my 2 cents worth (i.e. imho)
  23. Since Russell's Headquarters is in Bowling Green KY, of course WKU wears it.
  24. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
  25. The front page of the 3/31/2013 Sunday edition of the Bowling Green Daily News reads that WKU will join C-USA in 2015. Article also states that UNC Charlotte is joining in 2015. Source of information was Marshall Univ. official.
