  1. Texas Wesleyan is one of those athlete mill schools that take advantage of kids/parents who really want to be a college athlete. The majority of students at the school are athletes and the teams will take almost anyone to be on the roster as long as they can qualify for an overpriced college loan to afford the tuition.
  2. I don’t mind a local bowl game that is inexpensive to attend in person. Now, if we were having a 9 or 10-win season and really deserved something better that would be different. But it is not. Frisco is fine for this season.
  3. Morris is still in good shape. His team is fun to watch and he just posted one of the highest attended games in program history. He also has a chance to win a bowl game. Something that hasn’t happened here in too long. All he has to do is get the defense to slightly above average and we have a legitimate conference contender and excitement heading into next season.
  4. Fantastic win. Incredible effort on defense. Will be fun getting to know these players.
  5. Why is it so hard to get a decent team to The Pit? I love UNT basketball but c’mon, Texas Wesleyan is an embarrassment. Think there are DFW high school teams that can beat Texas Wesleyan. Hard to motivate myself for a 2 hour round trip drive for that matchup.
  6. Army is an incredibly classy program and playing them and having them in the conference is a powerful boost to the credibility of OUR program. I’ve been to 99% of the games at DATCU and that is the best that stadium has ever looked. It is also impressive how, after the game, Army comes to our side and stands at attention for the playing of our school song. That type of respect for others is missing in our society now. I wanted Army to lose against us, but I will be rooting for them the rest of the season.
  7. If this isn’t a sellout, then we may never sellout DATCU. We’re having a great season. Exciting offense with star QB. Record enrollment. Playing a BRAND NAME school with huge following that is nationally ranked. I, personally, bought 13 tickets and invited friends. Will be disappointed if this isn’t a sellout.
  8. I would. Jamario had one magical season and other productive seasons. Chandler Rogers was here for one year. Did pretty good then left and the guy who replaced him is WAY better. That is not HOF stuff.
  9. Anyone would benefit by watching Tony Robbins tapes.
  10. The school we just lost to is underwritten by FedEx. Gonna take a LOT of “UNT average Joe’s” throwing in $100 “here and there” to compete with that. With that being said, I do contribute a recurring monthly donation towards NIL. Our NIL is not going to be enough to keep Chandler Morris or DT Sheffield from playing in the P4 next season, but it might be enough to find their replacements in the Sun Belt or CUSA.
  11. Anyone know how much he got from Cal?
  12. I get being bummed about losing guys like this if our team sucks, but we are 5-1 (FIVE AND ONE!!!). The transfer portal has been good to us and can keep being good to us. We are going to lose our top players every year, but we have a coach right now who is replacing the guys he loses, on average, with better guys.
  13. Oak Cliff Faith Family is definitely cheating and the UIL needs to strike them down.
  14. That crowd was an embarrassment to all parties involved in that game.
  15. The extra practice time mattered before the transfer portal. It is mostly meaningless now as half the roster will be bouncing after the season. If you aren’t in the playoff, it is better to finish up the bowl sooner so you can focus on recruiting your own players and start your own portal diving.
  16. This is a FANTASTIC preview article. Who is the author Andy Hoops?
  17. Those band parents SHOW UP which is why expanding the Green Brigade is one of the smartest things our school has done. I bet for every band kid, you average atleast two additional people (family members or student friends) who attend the game. Which is why I think we should add a Kilgore Rangerette style drill team. Add 100 drill teamers and you’d probably get 300 extra parents and boyfriends at every game. That is 400 extra people in the stands EVERY game.
  18. No one is more disgusted by the portal/NIL than me, but North Texas didn’t invent those things. Our program is just playing under the rules we are given. Based on the early results, the portal was a net positive for this team. Don’t know if we can do that every year, but 4-1 is pretty damn fun. Come on back.
  19. The AD should be selling shirts saying this or Mean Green 3:16. They would be best sellers. I don’t think any of those things are copyrighted so I don’t see what is stopping us.
  20. Interesting that Harrell and Littrell coached offenses are both sucking this season. Must not be adapting very well to something that has changed recently in how their offense is defended.
  21. He CAN be with your generous donation to the North Texas Collective.
  22. Well, yeah. This is not breaking news.
  23. And the bidding for Chandler Morris next season probably starts at $2M. Remember he actually beat out a guy who ended up being the Heisman runner-up a few years ago. My prediction is CM lands a deal for $3M+ at Auburn, which still has fond memories of his Dad and desperately needs a quarterback. But he may be the hottest free agent on the market next season. Which means our next guy should be pretty good too.
  24. Mason Fine in THIS offense with HIS receivers would have resulted in a trip to NYC for the Heisman presentation. Not saying he would win, but that would have been a phenomenon. Now, what Morris is working with at receiver is not anywhere near what we were running out there with Fine: multiple guys who have had pretty decent runs in the NFL.
  25. Scott Hall, Mitch Maher and Steve Ramsey would all be ranked miles above Derek Thompson, who was certainly solid.
