Just heard on Sirius radio that Starr is out as president of Baylor. They said the action is not official yet.

Does the NIT cover costs of participating? If not, it might be the reason the admin nixed it. Higher Ed in LA is in deep financial problems. The proposal likely did not pass a cost benefit analysis.

Of all the dumb things on this board, this may be the dumbest. We won. I am sure the players were glad to see the crowd that came regardless of whether they were wearing black or not. That is the important thing. The rest is irrelevant. There will be no asterisk by the win in the record book saying the blackout was or was not successful.

I have to disagree about DII coaches recruiting high school. Most upper level DII teams are comprised of juncos and DI transfers. Many DII schools will have a minimum number of recruits straight from high school. If you want to go with an experienced head coach, I would opt for one with more than Ne successful season at a lower level DI.

Rice Inks $3.5 Million 3 Game Deal w/Texas

Texas did not enter into this unless they thought it was best for them. So now , we were ok with five games at Apogee and one in Dallas. What credibility does having your head handed to you in Houston instead of Austin give you. -
Not counting Notre Dame and the P5 schools, there were 63 athletes invited from all of the other schools. The truth is if you don't come from a P5 school , an invitation to the combine is an anamoly. Its not just UNT. IT IS ANY NON P5 school problem.
-
no players invited to the combine. Four former players playing on NFL teams. Which is more important?

As my old counseling professor, Dr. George Beamer, frequently reminded us "the proof of the pudding is in the eating." Until next season, we can only judge on the looks, ratings. 247 Sports has us 8th out of 14. We are ahead of all of the other CUSA Texas teams. This doesn't include our two transfers which would have elevated our ratings. By the way, our average player rating was higher than Tulane's: 78.83 to78.29.

English and Morris do not count. Transfers don't count.
-
Remember, our transfers, English and Morris, are not included in the rankings. Both were highly rated. Texas State is ranked on the basis of 23 recruits. UNT is based on 17. The number of commits affects the final rating as well as the number of stars.

USN&WR are not as prestigious in the academic world as the Carnegie classification. This is great news for alumni and students. I agree with the assessment of the College of Education, but it is equally true of other programs on campus. After al my undergraduate degree had more hours in science than education.

Seth Littrell completes North Texas staff for 2016
Graddean replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Unt90 should like this mix. Half of the ten position coaches came here direct from non P5 schools counting Perry. I know ten out of ten would have been better, but the mix looks pretty good. I still think it would be nice to find some position for a fairly well known high school coach.- 5 replies

Not Super Bowl, but both Abner Haynes (Texans and Chiefs) and Bobby Smith (Buffalo Bills) played on American Football League championships prior to the Super Bowl.

I wasn't comparing Bree's with Fine I was trying to point out the similarity of the situations and that his height is not a deal breaker. The statement was no more ridiculous than some of the comments you make. -

If 6'0" Drew Bree's can be a star in the NFL, I see no reason a 5'10" quarterback can't be successful for us. By the way, Bree's only had two , what was then, 1A offers from Purdue and Kentucky.
