Why would you assume I applied it to me personally? Didn’t think my question led to that. In no way did I take that as applying to me. I’m glad to see that you WOULD discuss with someone I just don’t know how you can decide who is racist, transphobic, etc and who is not.

Is there anyone you disagree with that’s not racist, homophobic, transphobic, classist and/or ignorant? Is that our only option? What about those people?

So by that standard it would seem unfair that “biological” males are allowed to compete in women’s physical competitions like sports. Also to label someone that’s opposed to that as bigoted or hateful would also seem unfair. (I’m not saying you agree or disagree with it. Just making an observation)

I do as well…..however on the flip side: These articles help when it comes to credibility and that helps with selection committees. Sure there are analytics that go into it but there’s also a qualitative, subjective aspect. “Is this team legit or not.” Articles on your school from CBS Sports helps. This article coming off a huge year coming off a defeat of Purdue last year all comes together to say: “UNT is a legit basketball program” especially for national level people that are watching from afar.

College traditions are what make college great. It’s what separates college athletics from other sports. Most REAL colleges take them seriously. The fight song being one. Something that students and alumni both have pride in. You know who don’t care about traditions and “stupid boomer things like fight songs” commuter schools. I was trying to put my finger on what throwing “mfing eagles” in the fight song looks like. At first I thought “bush league” or “pathetic”. Definitely “embarrassing.” But then it dawned on me. It’s so very commuter school. Something we have fought for years. And a group of students saying “f everything about this school and it’s traditions” just screams COMMUTER SCHOOL. If you don’t care that’s fine. If it’s not going to change. That’s fine too. Just know how pathetic it looks to anyone watching. and as for “just a word” I agree and said as much in my first post about the subject. carry on.

Keep that commuter school image going. Well done.

Making it uncomfortable for our opponents and trashing our fight song are not the same thing by the way. One has nothing to do with the other….

There it is. I was waiting on that one. Are those our only two options? Don’t come or trash the fight song? Seems like a horrible choice.

#1 I know it’s not going away #2 we want our University to look more big time. Instead the student section is making our school look like complete trash both things can be true

Oh that ship has sailed. I get it. “M’fin eagles” sounds like something UTSA or some other trash community college would do I just want our school to look good. That’s all.
