Board Statistcs (and A Stadium Funding Idea)

I would be interested to know how much the designated stadium account has in it. You would think that this is public information. -
Board Statistcs (and A Stadium Funding Idea)
untcampbell replied to gangrene's topic in Mean Green Football
If I was given some sort of plan as to how the stadium is going to be done, what it will look like, when it will begin construction, etc, I would put in enough for me, and one other member who cannot afford to do so (my 12 year old son). In addition to my annual donation this year, I gave an extra $1000 allocated to the stadium fund. I assume it is in an interest bearing account waiting for a stadium plan on which to spend it. Unt Football Needs To Bring The “mean” Back To Mean Green

Agree DeLoach will be an improved coach with his additional experience at UCLA, but he will also have an improved offense to support his defense. gmg -
Which Would Be A Sweeter Victory In 08, Ks Or Tulsa?
untcampbell replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
100 NT fans will see us beat KState....though many more will claim to have been there 20 years from now. I hope 25,000+ fans will see NT beat Tulsa. Give me a win over Tulsa, one that propels the team through the Sunbelt and on to New Orleans. gmg -
Even with all the disappointment, it is unrealistic to say it WILL NOT happen. Better poll is what decade. GMG.com

KRAM, Everyone (non-NT alums) I talk to about the "value" that IS North Texas football is amazed that we charge so little for games, even those that have been to Fouts. I upped my donation this year by $1000, with the extra grand to be set aside for the stadium fund. The joy (and pain) I will get from seeing my team play in the alleged new stadium is worth at least 2x what I currently pay (admittedly, I sit in the family section). Lets move this thing along. I was at that game also. Went with an NT alum that lives 3 blocks from Central Park in New York City. My brother in law is a West Point grad, showed us the campus before the game. It had snowed the night before and all the snow had been plowed to the sidelines. The stands were cold and full and I was treated wonderfully. NT lost but played well enough for me to enjoy the rest of the weekend. We have planned for our kids to get their first taste of NYC around that weekend in 2010 and I think I am more excited about it than my kids. GMG

And just traded Booker, a 3rd string RB, for a 4th.

That intersection usually has 2...and my guess is that Plummer would be the catcher.

We are saving thousands each year by not having to maintain a grass field, but now have to mow the bleachers?

Nice to see the game will be broadcast on 88.1 (http://www.kntu.unt.edu/) and on meangreensports.com. Sadly, I will miss the game in person but will be listening from Chicago this weekend.

Meager played...look over at the blog on meangreensports.com. I got to my room a few minutes ago, and was able to read about the scrimmage from that. Great service from the boys at meangreensports.com. Thanks. (Ian, can you believe we are communicating by gmg.com?)...love, dad

I am coming into this late so this may have already been discussed, but here are some random thoughts... ** I am a passionate NT fan. The people that moderate a internet message board or that manage the athletics program have nothing to do with my passion for NT football, soccer, softball, basketball. ** I had bad service at American Airlines the other day. I wrote the Managing Director, Customer Experience directly. We had a nice email discussion back and forth, and I walked away happy. My OPTIONS were limited, based in Dallas, so I worked hard to overcome my problems with the airline. Assuming a "diehard" can easily turn off and on their passion for the program, said fan can go watch SMU (God forbid), TCU, any high school, the Cowboys (enjoy paying for that), etc. You have many options, but none NEED you more than good ol' NT. ** Coaches, Presidents, AD's, players, players parents, athletic department personnel, and, hopefully, stadiums are temporary. NT is permanent. I chose to go to North Texas because of the permanent things it represents, not because of a teacher, an administrator or the cute girl in registration. I am a fan of the school, not of any single individual. ** I will not give up my citizenship because of a bad president (and neither would Alec Baldwin), forsake my God because I didn't like my preacher, leave my family because my wife farts in the bed (she doesn't), blame my poor performance at my job on my bad boss (either I did a good job or not), or give up my University because someone in the athletic department pissed me off. ** The NT fanbase is small enough, sadly, that each individual fan greatly impacts the ability of the program to move forward or backward. QUITTING, some call it "sending a message" truly hurts the program more than it helps. Literally, you ARE missed. ** Providing dramatic goodbyes to one's following of NT athletics is a fairly common event around here but usually a part of the off-season. What a great time to say goodbye. Most of those that have picked up their toys and gone home, come back to play around oh, say, August. ** For those that choose to stay, be positive. Fight for what you think is right. If you fail, fight harder. Don't quit. Be more positive than negative. Give more than you take. Go NORTH TEXAS.

Assumed: ** There are many things to complain about when it comes to NT athletics. ** Many on this board find the gmg.com website to be there only (or easiest) outlet in which to voice their complaints. ** Motives of those complaining vary: Some think the best way to improve the program is to make said complaints public. Some appear to have personal vendettas against those of whom they complain. Some are frustrated beyond belief, have voiced complaints to athletic department personal without satisfaction and, in a last fit of desperation, lay out their gripes here. Some offer solutions, some do not. Some know how to eloquently present their problem, others come off as spoiled brats, pounding on their chest that they will take their toys and go home. Administrators, would you set up a complaint box forum, perhaps in the VIP lounge? And it would also be nice to see the complainer proclaim his athletics donation level as part of each complaint. Further assumptions: ** This post is a complaint. ** Donation level should not affect the value or pertinence of a complaint.

Has anyone ever done an analysis of 40 times listed in HS recruiting reports vs the same kids at the end of college? Where would you research the times of those listed above when they were in HS?

Other Uses For A New Football Stadium?
untcampbell replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
When North Texas added its school of hospitality management (hotel/restaurant), I proposed building a U-shaped stadium and filling the open end with a hotel. All guests staying on the stadium side of the building are included in attendance. Each room has a balcony, and Marriott or Hilton pays for part of the building of the stadium. Can you say naming rights? -
Another Look @2008 Fb Scout.com Rankings
untcampbell replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
OT, pardon the ignorance, but is 68 the best in the SBC? Regardless, I am extremely grateful for the direction the program is being taken by Todd Dodge, his staff and OUR players. Congrats and GMG. -
I hope there are not many that would commit based on a promise of a new stadium. I know I chose the development we moved to (10 years ago) based on the fact that the golf course was under construction (Bridlewood) vs in the plans (Hidden Lakes). Why would anyone choose a school based on the promise of a stadium when, if that was their most important issue, any other school in Texas has a better and newer stadium to play in. I hope that kids choose NT because they like the coaches, the offense, the new defense, the non-stadium facilities, New Orleans, the education opportunity, the location, the hotties, the Tomato (oh yeah, we lost one), etc, etc. Whether we ever move on to higher football plains (and I feel we are closer than we have been in at least 20 years) depends on us...you and me. How about a car wash at Kroger?!?!
