Any Chance This "quitter" Looks At Us?
untcampbell replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
Why do you ask? -
NT03, Ye who care enough to donate money have the right to say what you want. You infer you give money to the program, i.e. tickets, MGC, donation, merchandise, concessions, etc. If you invest in the program, you have the right to a stockholders report (on a regular basis). The argument for the non-obsessor (sp?) would be: Say what you want...to the right people, in the right way. Avoid vitriol. Avoid the desire to constantly derail a thread with the same crap over and over again (and yes, I am fully aware that the 4-5 positive posters on this board get tedious in their/our constant attempts to balance). Fair and balanced, my friend. GMG Scott Campbell (warned to the 20% level) Flower Mound, TX Class of 1982

"you sure make a lot of demands for only your second post ever" Me thinks Scrappyman may have posted a few times, but he has been observing for a long time, been thinking about it for a long time and did not feel the need to "earn" the right to share his opinion, first post or 5000th (get a life). The re-hashers seem to be the most prolific posters. My guess is guys like Lifer and KRAM wouldn't post so often, if they didn't feel the need to defend against the barrage and repetitive "see no good" posters. (and yes, those more positive posters do see problems in the program...just don't obsess) GMG Scott Campbell Flower Mound, TX Class of 1982

KRAM, surely you don't question one's "concern for the kids" and the integrity of the school...my time on "vacation" for name calling left me fully assured it isn't vitriolic hatred for a coach.
-
What a douche, TFLF. Don't usually resort to name calling, but I will have to call it like I see it. "We're not surprised." Who is the "we're," for whom you have been nominated spokesperson? You argue Atkinson (spelled with a "son" on the end, not a "sin") isn't worth the paper this post is written on because he was only offered by Sam. Then you blame Dodge for losing the guy no one wants to WVU. TFLF, please justify your vitriolic and constant hate-filled rants against Dodge. Please disclose the financial loss you have suffered because of Dodge. Please disclose the son or nephew's name who was not recruited by Dodge, not played by Dodge, not given a chance to walk on by Dodge. Please disclose the decline you got when you solicited sexual favors from Dodge. I am confident it is none of that....just justify the 30 minutes a day you sit around constructing hateful and "intent-to-harm" posts that basically extoll the same message you have driveled into cyberspace since your first negative entry. Can you just not offer a "ditto" for every post you want to put up? Save yourself the effort and spare us the scroll distance from the post before yours to the one after it. We all know you have passionate hate for Dodge. Your messages don't change. The snails pace of positive news that has come forth the past few weeks is eating you up inside. Your self-worth is based on Dodge failing and you will continue to do everything you can (wow, such power you wield in the tips of your type-writing fingers) to bring the guy down. I am probably wrong on all of this, TFLF. I am sure you hold an honorable and vaulted place in society and use this forum as your "kick the dog" move toward your incompetent administrative assistant or college intern...just tell me why (I understand you owe me, just as anonymous as you, no explanation)? What is your goal? What has this guy done to you, Alex Forrest? It is one thing to hate...it is quite another to proactively attempt to quell anything that makes the guy look good. We haven't even lost Shavod yet, and we gain another...and you choose to see nothing but the negative. What drives you, pal? gmg Scott Campbell Flower Mound, TX disclosures: Mean Green Club, mid-level donor, cheap season ticket holder, fan since 1980, 1982 grad

Yesterday's basketball clinic was a truly wonderful opportunity for a bunch of kids (my guess is 125). The coaches and players spent time with the kids, teaching. It looked like the players were having a lot of fun, giving up their Saturday morning to do this. It is clear that our head coaches are leaders and have the respect of their players. The athletic staff did an excellent job of coordinating. I am always impressed when I see our AD doing the little things, like setting up chairs and tables for the teams to sign autographs after the clinic. I was really proud of our university yesterday. An aside: Each attendee was given a ticket to an upcoming home game, and a free lunch from Jason's Deli. I overheard a cougar-aged mom ask a group of other parents where the teams played basketball. One asked, incredulously, "Do you live here in Denton?" Her reply: "Yes, and I went to school here also!" gmg

UNTLifer, Charlie, Old Timer, et al upholders of faith and fairness (you know who you are): You are not allowed to be optimistic. You must refrain from posting anything positive in a valiant attempt to counter the vitriol. Anything you post will be torn to shreds, without regard to validity or fact. You are cannon fodder for the posters who, inexplicably, continue their mission to rip this program apart, to internally tear it down (and spare me the "program is tearing itself down" retort...the negative "fan" base ain't helping). Example: We get a recruit, and the first post following the announcement is a WTF....nice derail, "fan." On the scoreboard, Nattering Nabobs of Negatism are definitely winning. Thanks to you boys for spoiling the shutout. So if no one else will answer the question, I will ask the N's: "What are you doing to help?" Flame away, fans! gmg Scott Campbell Flower Mound, TX Class of 1982

Thanks Harry...with all the rumor mongering going on out there, it is nice to see that you think some of these boys are hanging in there. I greatly admire the stick-to-it-iveness of these men. As I thought when reading about some of our seniors, you can best predict long term success (on and off the field) by the character of those that persist and persevere. gmg

Mean Green Matt's 2008 Unt Football Video
untcampbell replied to Mean Green Matt's topic in Mean Green Football
I counted at least 4 times yesterday that Boomer got used in its actual intended manner (after a score). Two great things about yesterday: Boomer was able to be fired at something other than end of quarter, half or game. No fireworks. GMG -
Joseph Miller was announced with the Seniors. He came out and stood with the family that was able to attend. He jogged out of the "tunnel" and walked the last 10-15 yards. If you didn't know he was injured, you would think he was out of shape for the 70 or so yard run to be with his family. He obviously was injured. gmg

Fw*telegram Nt Seniors Leave With Fond Memories
untcampbell replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Matt Phillips, you also make the list of my most admired Seniors. I tried to get around to say thank you to a few of the Seniors after the game. When I thanked Matt Phillips, he volunteered: "I really enjoyed being here." Another good guy who I predict will be a good man, no matter what his choice of career. Thanks Seniors. And best wishes to the Frosh, Sophs and Juniors that will persevere as NT football players next year. GMG -
Fw*telegram Nt Seniors Leave With Fond Memories

What a biased article...Troy must not read this board. For that matter, Colt, Isaac and Casey must not read this board (thank God). These quotes were obviously archived since their sophomore season. Big props to Isaac...I am ashamed by the negative drivel (some of it my own) that spews from this board when I see a guy who has lost his dad, and who could have lost his leg, say, "You play for the guy next to you," said Thomas, who was hospitalized last February with a severe blood clot in one leg. "It’s hard to be upset when you get to play college football on scholarship. I had a great opportunity for five years. A lot of people out there can’t even walk." Thanks to all the Seniors, but especially those that stood up for this article, and BRAVELY spoke positively about their time here. I predict these guys will be outstanding men, wherever they land. GMG...BASt -
Here is my two-faced self chiming in, as I was unable to attend for a fundraiser last night, but I thought this was going to be an attendance thread.

Damn directional schools! gmg

So...I missed the news. You have decided on the Mean Green as your adopted North Texas team? Glad to have you, and will happily provide you a beer at next year's tail gate (if you can stand my beer of choice, Miller Lite). gmg

yeah, what a terrible timeout that was....except for the part about it working. gmg

Tell you how sick I am: I was watching our replay...going back and forth between TT/UT and our REPLAY. Most disappointing thing I missed in the back and forth: Our 2Q interception....on REPLAY! gmg

Pour House Game Watching Event for WKU This Saturday 3pm
untcampbell replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
No sure...would a 12-year old be allowed to attend the event? Not sure about liquor laws, but this is a restaurant, right? -
He said, she said from Green Mean and untcampbell: I agree the talk was pro-Dodge. Jub inferred that people at NT, and maybe across college football, aren't used to seeing things done "right," i.e. being proactive against drug use and not waiting for tragedy to happen. There was a glimmer of hope for you anti-Dodge guys though...Jub also inferred that if results don't start to show, Dodge may not be given time to prove that doing it the "right" way is, well, the right way. My take: sometimes doing things right takes time. I just praise the "character" of coaches and players. If these men performed like many on the board would prefer, they would ALL quit. These are men that will live better lives through the adversity through which they will persevere. Makes a crappy story for people who have never lived through hell and gotten to the other side, who have never lived in a completely negative atmosphere with few things going there way, who have no vision but the darkness of the tunnel, who can't envision and will themselves to the other side, but it will shape the way these men live the rest of their lives...POSITIVELY. I hate where we are right now as a team. But I will stand up for these men, grateful they don't quit as many hope, proud they do their best and confident their best will be enough in the future. I am Scott Campbell, and I approve of this message (and anticipate absolutely no comment in return).

Positive Dodge talk. gmg

I am not sure how to define rivals but competitive and often-played games would be in my definition somewhere...so that probably leaves out SMU. That said, there is only one college team in Texas that makes me smile happy every time their scoreboard shows them on the losing side. gmg

The best musical accompaniment of the fireworks show ever...oops, that was the Troy band.
