  1. My son has a place on Facebook and took a look at it, but thought that you had to be an NT student to submit. Since I have no skin in the game, I am pulling for OGG kid! GMG
  2. I had the pleasure of meeting Micah in NYC on the Sunday after the Army game. He was injured but came up for the game with his family. Had met his dad before. What a great bunch of folks. Congrats Micah. GMG
  3. Well done, Brant. Great work, but also a great testament to your support of the program. GMG
  4. Yes. (my wife hijacked this post) GMG
  5. Mark, thanks for again coordinating...I want to join the boys (and girls) of summer. Name: untcampbell Height: 5'10" Weight: A weak 162 Speed: Slow, but small Age: 50 T-shirt Size: Large Definitely a late round pick (even later than last year).
  6. We have been going with just 2 pitchers lately as the third has been injured. Also Caitlin Grimes, one of our catchers, has been out but returned yesterday. She is 3rd on the team in BA, and is first or second in HR's, Slugging, RBI's,etc. We are making progress, and it is fun to see wins against top 20's. We have to add depth that will bring consistency. GMG
  7. AOM, I am sad to report that I have elicited a similar reaction from some fans in my section at Fouts...seemingly a study hall on some game days in the past...I hope the new stadium with seats within the same zip code as the field will change the crowd participation a bit. On the other side, seeing Brand X advance this far makes me wonder if we shouldn't be interested in participating. Think of it as a minor bowl, giving our team extra weeks of practice. This year, with the injuries and limited depth, maybe not, but I would be inclined to consider an opportunity like this in the future. GMG
  8. Because I am not much of a cook, our tailgate includes Metzler family packs a couple of times/year. Great German potato salad, and trust me the words potato salad and great have never been used in the same sentence in my household before. Reasonable prices for this penny pincher but most important, Metzlers supports the Mean Green. GMG
  9. I understand we are down a pitcher and a catcher right now (no jokes, boys), but they may be back for FIU this weekend. Plan to be there. GMG
  10. I got to see this game today (but was late and missed OSU's four run first). We had two errors by the time I got there so may have been unearned runs. The girls battled back and took the lead in the fifth, 5-4, with a couple of homeruns. In the following two innings, OSU scored 5. They were the better team but we played well. Excellent defense. Missed a few scoring opportunities, i.e. two base runners with one out in the 6th I believe and one of the homers followed an out on an attempted stolen base. Very nice facility. You could watch the baseball game (OSU vs Washington) from the stands. A fan told me the stadium was financed by a $1,000,000 payout for playing Nebraska at a neutral site, I believe KC. Would have thought T Boone would have had something to do with it but the baseball stadium, from where I was sitting, wasn't as nice as the softball facility. A sprinkling of NT fans among the 200+ attendees. The OSU fan next to me said she had a crush on Coach TJ Hubbard. Let's get back on the winning side this weekend. GMG
  11. Only able to watch this team statistically/virtually but I really like this team...my travel schedule is starting to clear so games in person are on the schedule. Way to go, ladies...two nice wins against ranked teams. Future continues to look great. GMG
  12. The ladies have won 8 of their last nine, including four straight this weekend in the Courtyard Classic in Denton. Wins this weekend include victories over Wichita State, Ole Miss, UTEP and La Tech. Looks like the pitchers are doing very well now. Conclude tomorrow vs Wichita State at home at 3:00...get on out there and see the ladies. GMG

  14. I miss the invitaaaaaaaaaaaaa-tion! the North Texas Bowwwwwl! GMG!
  15. ....I have an extra pass for softball this season. It is good for Soccer, Volleyball and Softball. Please PM me with your address. I will mail it to the first that will commit to attend at least 2 softball games this year. And if I may make a suggestion: please give a donation to one of the ladies fundraiser games (wounded warrior, breast cancer and the third escapes me). GMG
  16. Thanks for the link 'Matt. We beat #15 last year...let's get 20 tonite!
  17. MGM, Let me second your good good for Mean Green Softball. The stadium the girls play in is great. As I have said previously, this is my second favorite NT sport. The ladies look like they are having a blast playing their game...dugout chants, music chosen by the player as they come to the plate, pick ups backed up to the outfield fence...fun times. I am out of town a lot, but when I can make it up there, I am looking forward to seeing the ladies play. (I have a catch at the fence that Mariza Martinez made to rob #15 UT of a home run as my screen saver...we won that game last year...UT AT HOME, 1-0) To add to the key games this year, let me suggest the three charity games NT will host. In lieu of admission, the team will sell T-shirts and accept donations for designated charities. **Play for Kay Game, benefiting DFW's Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: Wednesday, March 9 in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. against Missouri State. In its fourth year, the charity game is named on behalf of Kay Johnson, a North Texas employee who is in remission from leukemia. **Wounded Warrior Project: March 30 against Missouri at 4 p.m. Missouri advanced to the College Softball World Series last year and is facing North Texas for the first time. COOL SHIRT ALERT: https://admin.xosn.com/pdf8/733577.pdf?&KEY=HBWOGUPLZGQOGLR.20110120150118&DB_ACCOUNT_TYPE=AGENT&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=1800 **Strikeout Cancer: Wednesday, May 4 against UTA at 6 p.m. The Mean Green and the Mavericks compete in a home and away series every year and each team hosts a Strikeout Cancer Game. ALWAYS FUN TO WATCH NT BEAT UTA, regardless of sport! Coach TJ Hubbard is a really good guy. This team will appreciate your support. GMG
  18. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Ben-Brooks-99948?colleges=show#college_choices Says he was offered by NT. I saw on a different profile that he is 5'9, 168, and has been timed to 4.4 in the 40. Just curious where he ended up. GMG
  19. Agree. No inference to be made other than to say he is in good company. Add that he played on a state championship team that has a good shot at repeating....nice place to start your 2012 recruiting process. GMG
  20. Wilson blocks for the best back in the country. GMG
  21. Well, not football related and covered in another forum. Sorry boys....working from iPhone. Also heard JFK was shot, in case that hasn't made it to another forum.

  23. Words like "honored," when used by the right people, at the right time with conviction and sincerity....well, good stuff. Humbled and honored, in the right hands, are deadly great words. GCM
  24. I think sites were done through a bid system for D1-AA back then. GMG
  25. Listened to that game on a phone in Port Aransas....one of my buddies set the phone next to the radio, and we listened. My recall...we fumbled a field goal attempt late in the game. GMG
