  1. Couple of things of note: It was his brother Brant that talked about being at practice today. Brother is a high-school junior, plays hoops, hockey and XC. Twitter page had a picture from March 30 of the FIU spring game. Good signs: Brock brought the family for the visit. I like that he visited us second (hopefully last). If facilities have anything to do with it, I think we have a chance. I hope we can welcome the Berglund's to the family soon! GMG
  2. Dunbar is gone...but I think we have a few behind him worth bragging about. This will be my first trip to Manhattan. Can't wait to see the statue of liberty, Brooklyn bridge and the new WTC #1. Really, looking forward to this game and seeing how the purple do it. GMG
  3. This must have been what Eric Capper was referencing yesterday when he tweeted yesterday: "Spring football is great for many reasons, but you wonder if its really worth it when you suffer significant injuries." Unless Freddie was hurt today...then we either have a jinx tweet or a clairvoyant Capper. GMG
  4. Let me know what you want to know, but there was no pizza in the Family Section in 2012. It was sponsored by Sonic. GMG
  5. I am sure that is the fine work of Dandy Killeen, executive sports producer at Channel 11. Sits in section 110 at Apogee, and passionate about the Mean Green. GMG
  6. Ah, the greatness of Twitter. Welcome aboard, bruthuh. GMG
  7. Maybe it is because my neighbor is a MTSU grad, but it is always fun to beat MTSU...at anything! The ladies sweep MTSU and even their conference record at 3-3. #supportwoundedwarriors GMG
  8. Utah State is committed to improvement, and it shows in facilities and on the field. USU is the Texas Tech of Utah (the only game in a town isolated somewhat from the other major cities in the state...but only 2 hours from SLC). One thing I admire, that I think is useful to the conference: the other "majors" in their state give them regular games in the revenue sports. And if memory serves, these in-state games with BYU and Utah are usually competitive. This is visibility that serves the conference well. GMG
  9. Got to see the softball games today. Our girls looked great, after a tough weekend against ULL (generally best in conference). The tough non-conference schedule, in which the ladies competed well, may pay off for a conference run. Excellent spring day to be at the ballpark. If you can make it out Sunday, please support the Wounded Warriors program the girls are supporting. GMG
  10. Where can I get one of those shirts? Great work (and fun), men! GMG
  11. Thanks Mark...you are already the game's MVP (again this year). I am signing up Ian and I to participate. Name: meangreen 2018 Height: 5'8" Weight: 140 Speed: Deceptively slow Age: 16 T-shirt Size: Med Moving up the draft board after a nice game last season. Name: untcampbell Height: 5'10" Weight: A weak 164 Speed: Slow, but small Age: 51 T-shirt Size: Large You know when all the guys were drafted except for the last two? I was one of those guys, and then I was the last one. GMG
  12. NT shook off a tough first weekend (1-3) and fought through the rain to go 3-0 this weekend as they hosted the Fairfield Inn and Suites Classic. Beating Missouri State, Northern Illinois and Wichita State, the team improves to 4-3 on the year. Sophomore pitcher Ashley Kirk was named SBC Pitcher of the Week after giving up no runs over 8.2 innings, including a 3-hit, 14 strikeout shutout against Missouri State. Kirk followed that up with a save in the Wichita State game, shutting down the Shockers over the last 1.2 innings as part of a 12-9 North Texas win. North Texas takes on Texas State, Texas Tech, SFA and Baylor this weekend in Waco. Next home game is Wednesday, Feb 29 against Oklahoma. EDitorial: This team is fun to watch and represents North Texas very well....come out and see them. GMG

  13. I remember hearing the great news back in 2003 that Krum Middle School visited Fouts. So many reasons to see that wonderful place. That anyone wanted to see my Fall second home, whatever their motive, is good news in itself. GMG
  14. Would guess Tebow can recruit anywhere in any league. Glad to have him. GMG
  15. Front page, center, above the fold. Huge picture. Continues inside with a half page additional coverage, more pictures. Byline: KATE HAIROPOULOS Three more years! GMG
  16. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Kaydon-Kirby-125486 6'3", 285 lb Center Kaydon Kirby is listed as a commitment, but not signed, in the Lewisville/FM section of the DMN today. Not ranked. GMG
  17. I like ranking by average grade/recruit. We finished 4th in the SBC, and generally middle of the WAC, MWC, Independents and MAC. Did not fare well against the CUSA. GMG
  18. See MJG's new commercial...will they play this at Apogee next year? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2012/02/mean-joe-greene-recreates-his-famous-super-bowl-ad-for-downy-video.html GMG
  19. Yes. We hung in there with absolutely miserable shooting, playing with our 8,9 and 10 guys on the floor much of the night. This has probably been discussed in another thread, but what happened to Roger in the second half? GMG
  20. They probably have different rules as a military academy, but they listed 39 signees on 24/7. Anyone know why they can do that? GMG
  21. Classic grading on the curve. Back to work, OA. GMG
  22. I liked Coach Mac's reference to the (impact) walk on that could play a role at RB. Can't wait to see the Spring roster. GMG
  23. Thanks for sharing insight into the process, proud Dad. Enjoy this day. We are thrilled to have Connor with us, Mr Trussel. GMG
  24. I like it when smart guys provide positive, well thought out and cerebral insight. Invigorates my soul. GMG
