BH finishes the season 32-1, losing to Ennis 8-7. Crazy play to end the game....BH player hits an RBI double to bring it to one with 2 outs. She is standing on second, sees no one covering third (sort of, IMHO) while the pitcher is holding her at second...makes a break for it and the pitcher outruns her to third to tag her out. Season over. Head coach in third base box just drops her head. GMG

North Texas pitching signee Monique Garcia pitched 3 complete games over two days to lead Lubbock Coronado past state #1 Flower Mound this weekend. She gave up one run to FM in each of the three games as Coronado took the series, 2-1. She had 25 strike outs over the weekend and it appears the only run she gave up in the loss was unearned. Coronado team is 37-4 and moves on, I believe to the regional finals. Props to Monique! GMG

Congrats to these great kids. My son will be starting at NT in the Fall also. He is a triplet, but lost his sister and brother after birth. All three would have gone to NT if I had anything to do with it! Go Mean Green, and I hope Ian meets the Keller Quints! GMG

Mean Green sweeps Marshall. Ashley Kirk, NT's all-time strikeout leader, had three wins, starting two of the games and finishing game 2. On the weekend, she threw 21 K's. As a few others have commented, the ladiess looked great on FSSW in HD and the coverage was excellent. In getting its third sweep in C-USA play, NT is now 27-15 on the season. GMG
