  1. Just a great reflection of the University's RTF program that we have the options we have. Bass, Phillips or Emrich ...but I love Followill (probably too busy) and Barnett, and Bartolatta does a great job. How about Byrd for the supporting role! GMG
  2. Would immediately become my favorite conference road trip. GMG
  3. Also, a decommit by its nature infers the player didn't want to play here or found someone else for whom he prefers to play. Clearly this has been the case with some of our decommits, but not all. When it is a mutual decision, i.e. we encourage the player to open up his search, the inference of player's decision remains. In fact, we are giving the guy advance notice that he should look at his options. Looks negative regarding our school but in fact is doing the right thing for both player and school. GMG
  4. “They gave me my first opportunity. Coach Mac [uNT coach Dan McCarney] is one of the greatest people I have ever met. I have a lot of respect for him. I will really be pulling for UNT. They are going to win a lot of games and hopefully go to a bowl game.” Coach made an impression on the kid. Not enough to overcome the school where Wheeler's parents met, but a strong impression apparently. GMG
  5. Per Uncle Barky, a non-compete will likely keep him from working in FWD anytime soon....wasn't aware of any openings in the area anyway. I think Babe was the most watchable of all the FWD sportscaster talent. GMG
  6. That should have gotten Jimmy Kimmel's poster win...another lame bit at halftime. Ohio State's $1.1 BILLION program (give or take $27 million) just increased in value. http://www.wsj.com/articles/whats-your-college-team-worth-1421081367 Ironically, the give or take is about where NT was valued...#82 if you are keeping score. GMG
  7. I thought about the way TCU recruits also (get guys that touch the football a lot and find the best place for them to play). If Kevin Dillman hits at any position but especially at QB, this is going to be a great story! GMG
  8. The guy next to Creighton is ranked #19 in the state and played in the all star game this weekend (US Army sponsored I believe). Know the family and they speak highly of Creighton. Glad you are with us, CBarr. GMG
  9. 6'4, 260? Soccer? GMG
  10. 31,297 per ESPN. GMG
  11. Agree. There is a tendency to project how WE would react to a certain situation. #CharacterGuys GMG
  12. With Brian Waters and Craig Robertson, North Texas Man of the Year U. #CharacterGuys GMG
  13. 2014 Scout Team Offense MVP- Daniel Khan GMG
  14. "I don't have the answer to any of it. I just know giving time and money, glad-handing, seal-clapping and ass kissing by our supporters isn't getting it done." Constant ranting on an internet board hasn't provided many positive tangible results either. Perhaps collectively this board can go discuss it with President Neal Smatresk. I understand his door is open. GMG
  15. Long arms, strong grip/hands. GMG
  16. Maybe I missed the context , but I am not convinced twitter is the best way to announce you "wouldn't mind" working for someone. It hasn't worked for me yet anyway. GMG
  17. Yes...it saddens me when guys de-commit from Rice to go to SMU. GMG
  18. What is left of the semi-amateur portion of college football need to regionalize and compete for a national championship in football. Establish regional rivalries that build into a national championship and figure out how to monetize. We HAVE to monetize this thing. Then let every other sport group into conferences that are in each sport's best interest. GMG
  19. And bring a few with you, Shaq. GMG
  20. ULL...for the great tailgates, fan support and quality of their entire athletic program. As an aside, Hudspeth would be the highest paid coach in the conference, I believe. GMG
  21. Celebrating success. Thanks. GMG
  22. Well their defensive line looked all conference the day we played them, if I recall. GMG
  23. For clarification, at what point does a start up program become a program? And down the same track, I was curious about the average age of the UTSA team we played yesterday. Not quite BYU old, but I presume they played a lot of fifth-year seniors and even a few youngster fourth-year seniors. Not an excuse, but continuity (coaching, players, system, etc) in a football program is a lot like muscle memory in golf. It don't hurt to have it! GMG
