  1. I lose track of the names of our buildings. You aren't saying the Pavillion was having a private event, are you? GMG
  2. I would have ranked us 9 or 10....that ranking was based on reputation. GMG
  3. UNT has been at its best in the McCarney era when run, pass games are hitting at same time Yes, I remember that game. Let's do it again tomorrow! GMG
  4. If only all of us "small donors" would do the same out of "love" for the University, Green Mean. GMG
  5. I would enjoy wearing the official NT tartan to the Burns Supper in late January. Would anyone know where I can find a kilt, a cummerbund, a tie, socks, a sporran in NT tartan? GMG
  6. The timeline is compelling. Really. The one thing I question is how often coaches evaluate talent for months, only to make a decision most likely to sabotage their career, to go with the guy most likely to lose. One could argue it seems to happen regularly at lil 'ol North Texas. Maybe we just hire guys that don't have their best interest in mind. Or guys that read message boards and make bad decisions just to spite us. And if either is the case, maybe we also just hire AD's that hire guys that do those things. GMG
  7. Had RV actually fired DD when he wanted to....this board's posters would have been predominantly and wildly enthusiastic about such a move. GMG
  8. I didn't get past the first point (but will) before I +1'd you. Prayers for you and your family on the loss of your father. GMG
  9. Always nice to see the Breakdown! Apparently Malone worships at the alter of man-to-man coverage. Did he stick with it in the second half last week? If so, I would think he would stay with it this week against allegedly less talented receivers that likely can't stretch the field like BU receivers did last week. GMG
  10. Didn't mean to diss the good man Patrick. Haven't met him, I don't think. I am enjoying getting to know Denton again, appreciate the relatively high number of independent businesses there and focused on propping all of the North Texas-supporting businesses! GMG
  11. May I introduce you to he who purchases more North Texas football season tickets than any human on the planet: Denton native, NT alumnus, class of 2004, owner/creator of arguably the best social venues in town, East Side and Oak Street Drafthouse: Mr. John Williams. It was a good night for North Texas this evening as Audacity and East Side teamed with North Texas Athletics (damn near the entire department was on hand) to sell $4.00 brews in a co-branded North Texas/Audacity pint glass that he who purchased was free to keep. North Texas had the table set up with Mean Green Club information, schedule posters, etc, Lots of green shirts on hand. I want to be young again. Denton has never been this good, and continues to get better. North Texas had record enrollment this semester, 3% above last year. Freshman, by the way, are 7% above last year (congrats @Peacock, et al.). This is what college towns do. Your school is in a real college town. Support East Side. Support Audacity. Support North Texas Athletics. GMG...and damnit, BEAT $MU.
  12. We have never been as engaged with our Freshman (and those that were Freshman 2 and 3 years ago) as the Coach and the athletic department are now. Fact. GMG
  13. Add another 50 pounds and he is Booger Kennedy's little brother. GMG
  14. Sept 10, get Audacity with a co-branded NT glass at East Side. Other venues over the next two weeks, but East Side gets my vote. Join your Mean Green Athletic family for Mean Green Pint Nights in Denton this and next week! While supplies last, those that purchase an Audacity beverage during the event will receive a co-branded North Texas and Audacity pint glass. September 10th at East Side from 7-9 PM GMG
  15. From @BrianScottNBC5: Hey #UNT big deal here! Anyone around today _ want to interview about the #GMG spirit there? Referenced this article. GMG
  16. Lose in 3 sets to UALR. Work to do. GMG
  17. North Texas beats OU in a 5-set thriller last night and moves to 3-3, I believe, after beating Central Arkansas in an earlier match. Dillard is a studette (22 kills, 14 digs) and Chamberlain led the team in blocks with 7. Play UALR at 10:00 am today. Well done, ladies. GMG
  18. Sincere question: If it is easier for alumni to get to the SMU game, would we be able to attract better home opponents if we move our home games to Ford? GMG
  19. @greenjoe refresh my memory but I recall Pat was one of the best assist guys ever at North Texas. Great passer....not so much a great shooter. But that shot....nothing but the bottom of the net! GMG
  20. Told this story before but in January 1980, at my first North Texas athletic event, Pat Hicks hit an OT 3-point bomb from about (my memory says) 35 feet to beat the University of Texas, the school from which I had just transferred. Mr. Hicks is permanently etched in my brain pan for giving me my first win as a North Texas fan. GMG
  21. Exceeded your expectations! GMG
  22. I don't think you will find things much cheaper as you get closer. You may try flying into Des Moines. I have driven from Kansas City to Iowa City (about 300 miles) to save money but then again, my time is still worth less to me than my dollars at this stage of my life. GMG
  23. Thanks for the shout out! GMG
  24. Facing reality, you have 5 opportunities to see your team in Apogee Stadium this year. Don't blow it. GMG
  25. The answer is YES....they have space under the busses to bring chairs and ice chest and welcome you doing so. East Side = Greatness GMG
