Having spent a little time in Logan, I would have a tough time justifying a move to Denton as an upgrade. Beautiful town full of people that support the program. Better athletic conference. A program that has proven it can and will compete against, and sometimes beat, its in-state rivals. Maybe you don't have to pay a coach as much with all those advantages. Would have been worth the effort when the search began....but we are allegedly close to hiring someone now, right? GMG

Son and I will be there, and one of our other tailgate regulars. We will spend about 3 minutes in our family zone seats, then move to the seats under the club seats and alternate the three of us between there and the club seats. In all honesty and understanding this weekend's scheduling and attendance is absolutely horrible for our football program, some of my favorite games at NT are these last games of the year, in miserable weather with a handful of truly die hard fans. I have this inkling that we play some of our best games in front of our smallest crowds, regardless of last game or not. Selective memory, but the MTSU game a few years back and the 1997 Utah State game come to mind. And as rare as a win is around here most years, you have to be selective. GMG

Whiile I have expressed mixed feelings about flying the banner and decided against supporting it with funds, I don't see why there is any debate about doing this today/now vs a couple of days after Thanksgiving on a likely cold, wet and windy day (they usually are) an hour before a game that will have a couple of thousand fans (it usually does) in attendance, most of whom are parents of the senior players. The Union opened up this week and Thursday is a busy day on campus. That it will fly down to the Square adds a local element that might not have been part of the UTSA game exposure. GMG

NT soccer plays Marshall for the Conference Championship at 10 am Sunday morning. Apparently will be televised on one of the Fox Sports Networks. Another shutout...both wins in the tournament by 1-0. In Huntington WV in late September, NT and Marshall played to a 0-0 draw (2 OT's). First one to one wins. #defense GMG

I appreciate the parking idea on a broader scale, and have voiced this more than once.. Those spots are like seats on a plane. When we do our annual BBQ tailgate, I usually have 20 or so families that have no ties to the university bringing food, drinks, chairs, etc. They would pay $20 to pay in the Blue lot. Instead they pay $10 to park at Fouts or to park in the front yards of our friendly neighbors to the South. Whatever the number of spots that qualify through MGC club and donations should be reserved. Then the rest should be opened up to those that will pay more to be closer. Another revenue source for an athletic department that has a few buyouts and salary increases for which to pay. GMG

Barnett on the post game show said no. Neighbor watching it said no. Haven't seen the film on it, but it sound like the UTKFC guy ducked his head right before McClain tackled him and that it was a shoulder, not a helmet, tackle. Anyplace to see that replay? GMG

UTKFC brought a decent crowd that helped fill in our student side. Guessing with the band, they had 800. They were louder than us throughout the first quarter. I am glad they showed up. Biggest crowd noise for most of the night was for the spiderman dance winner. And then, we won the game. GMG

We will have some candy at our tailgate....small intimate group of 6 at our tailgate, but there will be candy. Come by! GMG

With a 2-0 win yesterday afternoon over Southern Miss, North Texas Soccer (no need to label it women or men...there is only one) moves to 15-2-1. They won their seventh straight and are 7-0-1 in Conference USA. By my count, the defense has 13 shutouts this year including a 0-0 tie with Marshall. Defense has given up 7 goals in 18 games. One of the 7 came in double OT, TAMU's game winner. NT soccer has given up three goals in its 15 wins. Let the ladies play in Apogee on Saturdays, or at least on the Saturdays in the SEASONS the AD owes me for not getting a sixth home football game. GMG

Great points by UNT 90 Grad. As a 1982 graduate of NTSU, I called it North Texas then and still do. I don't like the UNT moniker, probably because of its association with CBL's signature coffee cup or the jumbled call letters for the campus radio station, and prefer NT. Conveniently, doing so gives me one more letter to use on my numerous tweets about how I wish NT soccer's defense could play at Apogee on Saturdays. The NT shirts I buy, as opposed to the shirts thrown to me in the stands, say North Texas or Mean Green, not UNT. When I put on a bumper or window sticker, I cut off the "University of," displaying only North Texas. Whenever Firefighter Rick dislikes my viewpoint, it is minimized as "only at North Texas." We are...North Texas. (Keep Calm and) GMG

Won't be a whole lot of people there for the game even if its sunny if posts from our most passionate fans are any indication; fewer for the 4-5 hour and fewer still if wunderground.com is correct (60% chance of rain from 4-5 pm). Wouldn't want to try to sway GMG.com's Ted Cruz (a compliment in my mind) but any sunny weekday lunch hour flight over the Admin Bldg will serve your purpose and be seen by more people. GMG

The "I want it, and I want it now" mantra that permeates the majority of recent posts on this board echoes Paul Ryan saying he will take the Speaker job, but he gets his weekends, his PX90 time, time with the kids, etc. I remember George Washington saying the same thing.
