  1. "Before" picture. Looking forward to the "After." GMG
  2. Great to see a decision with some drama, where NT is in the mix, where God is thanked, where emotions are shown...and then the North Texas hat gets placed on the lid. GMG
  3. What a disgusting thought. That he was fully aware he/his department has been chasing away fans for 5 years, 25 years and all points in between, and unable to do anything about it, validates his departure. All other reasons have been well chronicled here, but this revelation hits me hardest. It takes much more work to bring a new customer into the fold than to keep the ones you have. This department failed at both. That said, I am more jazzed for the future of NT athletics than I have been in a long time. GMG
  4. I wonder if ancillary Cowboy affiliations will be part of a deal like this, i.e. a Michael Irvin football camp at Apogee? GMG
  5. And we already have signed the second best athlete named Lauren Cox in Texas! http://www.12newsnow.com/story/31931251/lcms-lauren-cox-signs-with-north-texas GMG
  6. It is ironic that discussion of conference expansion often starts with TV market potential, but most of the higher revenue programs in the second list are from more isolated "only game in town" markets or decent market size areas without pro football. GMG
  7. My son was in a student group with you, Zero. He thinks a lot of you, and was happy to see you complete your studies. Thanks for coming on to provide a little background. Facts trump message board speculation. Knowing your situation, we are happy for your move. You will love Mobile....great town! Would love to see you back in Denton whenever you can make it. GMG
  8. Or you can buy a percentage of the bus, i.e. not equal shares. I am in for 250-500. Seems like if we get enough to go in, we can make it a game day central for GMG.com patrons. Sadly, the legal part gets into this. If we take a collective ownership, we have to collectively insure it, store it, etc. I picture something similar to this, collectively bringing together some of our most dedicated fans to put on a true game day spread to enhance the game day experience....parking lot pageantry, if you will. http://www.krewedechew.net/ Perhaps one of our legal savvy posters can let us know what is involved in collective ownership of the "team bus." 9. I really want this team to do well. I have only seen a few games, most earlier in the season, but I have never seen quit in these kids (this year, last year, ever). Hard to imagine, though, they have been outplayed 19 of the last 21. Especially the way they played early. Wishing the team good times. GMG
  10. @GrayEagle = Awesome GMG
  11. Buyers catch was at 8:27 on the MGP video. 37 is Connor Davis, Sr. Transfer from Texas Lutheran. He had 2-3 catches if I recall. GMG
  12. Seems like there was another Buyers catch that made the MGP video. But agree, the one they called out of bounds was a great catch. Wish that ref would have been in Austin in 1988. GMG
  13. This thread wreaks of the crumpled $100 bill. GMG
  14. Got it (took me two posts, but)....thanks! GMG
  15. Can anyone tell me who caught the TD pass at 4:14 mark? GMG
  16. It appeared to me that Alec abandoned the play pretty quickly in attempt to avoid the "sack." Remember a sack was one anywhere. I actually think his stats would've been better if QB's were open to taking the hit, big body and all, allowing him to hang in there a split second longer. Shanbour has better running ability so abandoning the play for the run is more the natural maneuver. The timing that he might abandon the play is not much different in the no hit or hit the QB scheme. My take is that I am happy we have Morris and think he should be #1. I felt Shanbour gives us a chance if AM is injured (ironic that this QB, who gives me reason to believe, follows an ineffective AM and is also #5). None of the other QB's deserved any additional time, and frankly I saw 2014 and 2015 inthe 1-2 series they were out there. GMG
  17. I didn't hear much complaining (none, in fact) about pricing. It appeared the garage sale was a success judging by the amount of apparel available when I made it to the front of the line and the amount there when I left the practice (about 10 minutes early for my daughter's prom pictures). And there was still a lot of shoppers when I left. Huge inventory to go through. The line at the start was about half the line for the NT/Rangers caps at last years FSSW NT day. Lots of players parents in line with me....as always the Flusche family represented! Met some of the Schilleci and Wegmann crew also. All nice folks. GMG
  18. So the roster was wrong? Smiley is 1 on the roster. BTW, I can remember years when looking for players on the roster at Spring game was a scramble before the next play started. Today, it was a very easy roster read...80 listed, including English. With the 6 or so that are out with injury, Ivery out for grades, etc, we have under 75 active currently. GMG
  19. Did anyone get a name on WR number 4? He caught a TD, if I recall, and his name remained unknown to us all. GMG
  20. RSVP....will attend. GMG
  21. I have watched a few Spring games since I began following NT football. And I have watched a few other teams Spring games. They are like State of the Union speeches. Within a few days (maybe hours), I would be hard pressed to remember a single play (or promise, as regards the SOTU). Every success is tempered with the reality that whoever did something great, it was against OUR team. One exception I can vaguely recall from a few years back. Some running back did something like a flip over one of our defenders as he was getting near the goal line to score. Don't sweat the small stuff. GMG
  22. I saw at least 10 separate tweets from various NT related accounts announcing this over the last few days, in addition to the weekly email that came today. I couldn't make it...would have loved to score the sandstone NT coasters! Listened on the radio and heard a much more comfortable coach, an audience that was engaged and laughing with the coach. Glad to hear your in person thoughts were consistent with what I thought I was hearing. GMG
  23. Does anyone have any information on Dennis Smith? He is shown as a walk on wide receiver in this picture series from early in Spring ball. http://www.meangreensports.com/view.gal?id=192739 Not listed on the roster. From my internet search, he may have signed with Blinn back in 2012. Not sure if he ever played there. Timelines are weird, but I think he originally committed to A$M. Broke his foot in 2011 at mid-season (high school), got into some off field issues and then came back for the playoffs? Before the 2011 season, he listed North Texas in his top 3, along with Wake Forest and Colorado. Looks like he has/had a ton of talent. Any idea where he has been the last few years? Pardon if this has been covered elsewhere or is otherwise useless information. GMG
