The Iron Sheik is team #NewDenton

Please. Give me a gif with Miss Elizabeth, and cut out Trump's brother (I loved that guy, a Brit I believe, but he does look like Trump a little bit). GMG -
Thanks to those that provided NYC tips. Here is one for you guys, if you haven't found this place yet. Family met up with one of my alumni friends (class of 1983). He lives in Morningside Heights. Took us to a small club Saturday night called Showman's on 125th in Harlem, about 3 blocks from the A Train stop. Doesn't get the notoriety of the Apollo, down the street. Thank Goodness, because the venue is small and packed. Three sets. The last one, some of the musicians from the Apollo usually come down and sit in. Blues and Jazz. No cover, two drink minimum. Lady who owns the place runs the place. Doesn't tolerate BS. She cooks something every night and, as best as I can tell, hands it out at no charge if you ask if their is a menu. Lasagna was the dish, served up in a real nice styrofoam bowl. Delicious! Heard her chicken and rice is worth coming back for. Music: John Smith (guitar), Nate Lucas (Hammond organ), drums, percussion. Lady named Maxine was celebrating her birthday. We had to leave before cake was served but I understand everyone in the place got a piece. Felt like we were part of the family after about 15 minutes. Heard that Red Roosters soul food is over the top good (pricey and you need a reservation), good music also. Also, the High Line is awesome. Next up is http://thelowline.org. They are building this near Columbia University off of 125th. If I understand correctly, they are building this park UNDER the existing elevated rail line. GMG

1 TD every 9 carries....best among the RB's. Doing the math, I hope @Gmgtwo6 gets 27 carries today. GMG

His Howard Stern appearances, most after he retired, are legendary. GMG -
Middle Beating Mizzouri by 10 late
untcampbell replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
So we have lost to Florida, Middle (with a win over an admittedly down SEC team) and SMU (beating the #11 team in the country). Fair balance: Army was our first win against a team with a winning record this year. Worth the wait! GMG -
Cadets are required to attend all games. And they stay until the end. They conceded defeat vocally and loudly, booing Coach decision to use all of their timeouts late in the game. The men wanted out of there. It was really something to witness. And to see our team line up in victory formation, on the road, 18 point dogs: priceless. Admittedly we have an n of 1, but it seems we have found a coach that knows what to do with a bye week. GMG

At the half, Army West Point had the ball 22+ minutes and something like 183 yard offense. Good guys: 7+ and about 56 yards. Amazing seeing those statistics flashed up on the stadium board, and being ahead at half. BTW, with all due respect to the hosts of my favorite road trip, you would think all of those defense contract sponsors at West Point would pony up for a legitimate video board. GMG

On the ferry back from West Point, a couple of guys and I were talking on the back end of the boat. Both were boatsman from New Jersey, had no allegiance to either team and just wanted to see a Saturday football game at West Point. One asked me who the wild guy running up and down the sidelines was. He told me he stopped watching the game and just watched him in the second half. Exaggeration, but his passion permeates the defense. He told me he was going home to read the Ekeler bio. GMG

WD528, about 7 or 8 years ago, we stayed at the then-new W across from the WTC. I went on a long run through Battery Park and up the Hudson River running trail. On my return, I ran down Church Street, I believe. As I approached the site of the Towers fall, I took in the postings that families had placed of their missing loved ones on temporary barriers, fences and light poles. I was panting heavily from my run, but my breathing changed to this deep, uncontrollable heaving. When I saw a few families standing in front of their missing loved one's pictures, I stopped my run and the heaving transitioned to uncontrolled bawling. Yesterday, I shed a few tears as I took in the stories our guide told. The sobs deepened standing in front of the salvaged Ladder 3 company truck and thought about my son that wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up. But in the museum, I experienced the same uncontrolled, visceral heaving in the little alcove that told the stories of the jumpers. A sign is posted in front that warns of disturbing content. One quote summed it up. It described a witness account of a woman, standing in a window, looking down for a few minutes. The witness described this woman reaching down to hold her skirt in place before stepping off the window's ledge. The witness sensed this woman's effort to control her dignity as the last act of her life. GMG

9/11 museum yesterday....was very humbling. We spent 5 hours there, and could have spent 5 more. GMG

Pic of Craig Way & Bill Mercer at Fouts Broadcast Booth
untcampbell replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
The picture captures a poignant moment between two broadcasting professionals. I literally mean between the two. Look. See. A crowd at Fouts! On a sunny day. At halftime. That is me, on the South 47 yard line, about 30 rows up. GMG -
My son and I, and possibly an alum that lives in NYC coming with us. We are taking the ferry. Think we are in the south end zone (if it is a north/south aligned field)...on the road and don't have my tickets with me. GMG

We held our annual family and friends BBQ this weekend, the sixth. My wife's cousin, an Aggie grad, and his wife, a UT grad, bring up their 1000 pound smoker, a TV, a golf cart, tables, his dad's three bean BBQ beans and brisket, ham, pork loin and a few pork chops to help us early risers make it to 4 pm serving. We served 57 this year. Why is this relevant? We are 5-1 in BBQ games. The one "loss:" last year's game vs Portland State. Six for six on positive outcomes, if you ask me. Trying to talk Senor Smoke into smoking the meat for us every game now. One last note: Cousin's wife, the UT grad? Went to high school with Jeffrey Wilson's mom, LaVonda. They join us every BBQ game and father Jeff predicted the win about three hours before kickoff. GMG

Jeffrey Wilson tweaked his ankle vs B-C and has battled it, and through recurrences, since then. He limped off late, then came back a series later before going out for good, but I believe I saw both him and Barr in the celebration locker room video. Both looked like they were enjoying winning. This team is really learning that winning is funner than losing. TEAM. GMG

Some in my group were able to come into the parking area to drop off stuff or humans. This is an upgrade in my mind, as they used to be much more strict about letting people in. It appears they put in a system that allows it while assuring the driver comes back for his DL in a timely manner. GMG

Thanks for that information. I am in NYC once a quarter and will use this information in the future. One category you forgot to address: I am going with my wife and two kids, staying in Tribeca and want to have a nice dinner one night but not spend more than $50 per person. Got any advice for this one? GMG

First, I envy you. Appreciate you fans that went to the game. What was the crowd like? And our numbers compared to Rice? On the radio, it often sounded like a home game. I think I heard their band one time. Our band sounded good and loud. And there seemed to be more noise from our fans most of the game. For the streamers, how was the presentation? Dave and Hank were talking about the likelihood that some challenges would be hard to overturn because the game wasn't being presented in typical TV camera(s) fashion. Really bummed this wasn't a TV game. I would be watching it again right now. Beyond the Green should be awesome this week. GMG

Will us to win in Houston, Jason. I will do my part at West Point. GMG

So we had a tough week of practice (offensively) before the Florida game. Mr. Campbell, what did you see this week? GMG

Tickets from the UNT ticket office are GA ($45) and are likely in the South end zone (I think that is the South end). That is where they put us last time we played them. Full disclosure: Army is selling some upper deck seats on the home side of the field for $40. I just decided it was a good to buy from our AD and that it would be fun to sit with our fans. GMG
