  1. Just a great visual documentation of a under-publicized football program. I hope we keep this show going. I learn something about the program every time I view a BTG. Thanks Ashton. GMG
  2. Proof that North Texas athletics positively affects the Denton community. I don't live in Denton, but we purchased two DRC's this week. And it was worth it. Great coverage, BV. GMG
  3. THANK YOU FANS FOR YOUR SUPPORT. And wasn't it great to see so many precise, efficiently thrown footballs? Heckuva day, Mr. Morris. GMG
  4. 25th in catches, 4th in yards. I like the math in that. GMG
  5. We REALLY needed Hood for the one he gave us. And he contributed! A freshman might have contributed in that spot, but probably not much in 2016. That was a big hole Hood filled. GMG
  6. Or from Cristina's. #oneoff GMG
  7. One of my stocking stuffers, BV. GMG
  8. My favorite player in the class, just based on the date he announced his decision. Merry Christmas. GMG
  9. HOD bowl edition will be in the 12.25.16 DRC. 10-12 pages. GMG
  10. To appease the masses assembling in the street with torches, I guess Caw Caw could change his handle to kee kee. But I would miss my favorite friend of humor, the double entendre. And that would be caca. GMG
  11. I honestly can't recall a game this year when JW was 100%, but my wife accuses me of selective recall. He has played gutsy and tough all year long. GMG
  12. Hey Ruston, Army Navy game watching party GMG
  13. Not if it is The Who. Talk about bumping up attendance. GMG

  15. One of those true freshman, I presume, is the star of the GIF you attach to your posts. Though I get hypnotized every time I see that guy in glasses with the strange transition of facial expressions, from "I'm not sure they're buying this" to potentially gas-related grimace to "smiling because I know I got to one of them" as John stands and throws out the "wooh!" GMG
  16. There will be lots of negotiation amongst the extra game committees to get the match ups they want vs the match ups the evil ESPN wants. I suspect they will try to put NT in a game as close to home as possible. Easier for the local bowls to sell a 5-7 team that is in the neighborhood. GMG
  17. There are about 10 high profile games that mirror what we used to call Bowl games. Prime time, mostly P5's, impact rankings and shovel a lot of money to P5 conferences and teams. There are another 10 or so games that still pay pretty well, mostly feature P5 teams and still pay a lot of money to the P5 conferences and teams. The rest of them give teams extra practice, some "extra game" swag and a good steak dinner. Whatever they are called, the 40 mid-to-low P5 and mid-to-upper level G5 teams that get an extra game have a legitimate, albeit small, advantage over the remaining 50 or so teams that don't get an extra game. Take it. GMG
  18. Heard a rumor it was Herman's agent that started that rumor. He will be at UT. But that is just a rumor at this point, according to multiple reports. GMG
  19. Finally getting around to watching the replay of last week's game as I mentally prepare for #BeatUTEP. In the second quarter, Turner Smiley takes a pitch on an end around and runs for about 35 yards. Why is he not credited for rushing yards on any of the stat sheets? Is a forward pitch (he ran in front of Morris) considered a pass? Thanks, GMG
  20. I think SL has had a great year, and hope for more. I believe SL still thinks their is work ahead here. He has been a head coach for less than a year, is being treated well here and has the opportunity to grow in a relatively "safe" place. That said, when he is hired away, I have confidence in those who will hire the next guy. GMG
  21. Thanks Bill for starting this salute to our the Veterans in our midst. Friend of mine was wearing a Gulf War Veteran hat at homecoming. At least 10 people came up to offer thanks. Very humbling. And if you see one on the street today or any other day, thank him. And if his lady is with him, thank her. GMG
  22. Higgins was not suspended, but did not play against Arkansas, for a DWI arrest in early August. OL was stout, no denying. We got no pressure on Higgins and the secondary was depleted intra-game. Tough one pal. GMG
  23. Most of Mason Fine's hometown turned out again, sitting in section 110. Great fans, enthusiastic. Engaged. Many were wearing shirts/hoodies with UNT spelled in Cherokee. Like Fine's crew, the Flusche's fraternity always inspires. We need to recruit more kids with large families and built in fan bases! I enjoyed the Green Brigade's halftime show more than most. The marching was more linear, easier on my eyes and understandable to my obsessive compulsive brain. This was the first time I would accuse the attendance as listed to the low side of reality. Good crowd that stayed into it through the third quarter. May have been a little light for Homecoming but it I can't remember a HC this late in the season before. Makes me think that we can have a good shot at decent late season attendance as this team gets better. Best tailgating crowd of the season. Appreciated the good La Tech crowd. Those with whom I spoke were nice. I thought it was the biggest opposing crowd this year, and maybe since Apogee's first game. The weather. November. I appreciate Homecoming more when I spend some time with those actually coming home. Different perspective on the changes on campus, the game day environment, etc. The Alumni Pavilion was a great place to hang out before the game (it was free to everyone yesterday for Homecoming). Hope we maximized efforts to reach these alumni not already members of the association). One football note: That was the best QB we have played all year. We didn't give him much reason to panic, but that guys footwork was phenomenal. Reminded me of Tom Brady. Completely poised.
  24. Please. Give me a gif with Miss Elizabeth, and cut out Trump's brother (I loved that guy, a Brit I believe, but he does look like Trump a little bit). GMG
  25. Thanks to those that provided NYC tips. Here is one for you guys, if you haven't found this place yet. Family met up with one of my alumni friends (class of 1983). He lives in Morningside Heights. Took us to a small club Saturday night called Showman's on 125th in Harlem, about 3 blocks from the A Train stop. Doesn't get the notoriety of the Apollo, down the street. Thank Goodness, because the venue is small and packed. Three sets. The last one, some of the musicians from the Apollo usually come down and sit in. Blues and Jazz. No cover, two drink minimum. Lady who owns the place runs the place. Doesn't tolerate BS. She cooks something every night and, as best as I can tell, hands it out at no charge if you ask if their is a menu. Lasagna was the dish, served up in a real nice styrofoam bowl. Delicious! Heard her chicken and rice is worth coming back for. Music: John Smith (guitar), Nate Lucas (Hammond organ), drums, percussion. Lady named Maxine was celebrating her birthday. We had to leave before cake was served but I understand everyone in the place got a piece. Felt like we were part of the family after about 15 minutes. Heard that Red Roosters soul food is over the top good (pricey and you need a reservation), good music also. Also, the High Line is awesome. Next up is http://thelowline.org. They are building this near Columbia University off of 125th. If I understand correctly, they are building this park UNDER the existing elevated rail line. GMG
