I guess I missed that collision, but it does really illustrate their mutual intensity. GMG

On 9/11, the Murphy twins, 9 and 11, both are injured on the same play. It appeared one went down first, I think Grayson, after almost sacking Mordecai on a what turned into a long scoring play. Then Gabriel. Their limps off the field looked almost identical too. To be clear, I am not projecting or even comparing the towers falling to this event. It was more the question of “Do twins really feel each other’s pain?” I read somewhere it was likely cramps and both were back in later, gratefully. GMG

Disgusted by the SMU Gameday experience.
untcampbell replied to WanderingEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I was standing on the top row. At one point early in the 1Q, there appeared to be more people at the two gates I could see trying to get in than people in the stadium. I will say it was fun watching Biff and Babs (not sure if that was their real names) trying to negotiate their way into the stadium after waiting in one of those long lines because Babs purse wasn’t clear. That was near the end of the 1Q. The most enjoyable moment in the game was in the 4Q, when we recovered a fumble and there was absolutely NO celebration. Simply because it wasn’t warranted, and the defense knew it. To the point of this thread, a win on the field sure would have made all you describe, WE, better. This was one of those games I never felt we would win. Not a minute. It started with Bush going down (I’m assuming out for the year) and not being able to TD off his sacrifice. Acknowledging I don’t know enough about the game to assess talent, I have the Aune chip on my shoulder. He may not be the answer but his experience would have helped last night. It took him 8 games to throw 4 interceptions last year, and at least twice the passes. Of course, he got all his yards after the game was lost (like the 276 yards in 13 completions against $MU last year?). JR got his numbers last night, indeed. You do that when you have to gain the same yards, or more, over and over again after penalties take them away. But 1 yard was undoable, early and often. I’ll stop the ramble here. I have a BBQ tailgate to prepare for. GMG -
If you get a chance, drop by to say hello to Sandi Parker. Her husband is Don Parker. He passed away from Covid pre-vax and was a big fan and loyal season ticket holder. This is Sandi’s first game since his passing and she will be sitting with his sister Donna. (note she paid full price for the tix, something I decided against) GMG

I am flying solo but hope to sit with friendlies. Going to try to get in that Section 121. GMG -
I remember going to Willis Library and watching "Coach" in the spring of 1980, my first semester as a transfer from the university of Texas. What an awesome share, Lets. I wish every incoming student would take a look. GMG

Adios, UT and OU; hello, Big Texas Conference
untcampbell replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Football
It is the “power” teams that have to realize this is in their best interest. I am all for helping the teams “below” us, but those “above” have to decide if it works for them. #TexasStrong GMG -
She was a gamer, for sure, knocking away more than one shot on goal before the third or fourth attempt got by. My post was referencing OUR goalie. GMG

Great find, JM. Says they won't post scores until after the player's round is complete. We will be dependent on MGWG! GMG -
Siggers credits God with move to SMU

Many Christians credit God with everything that happens in their lives, good and bad. The tough part is to be thankful for both. GMG -

Whisky, in this household. But both offer similar effect. That said, a friend of a friend with that kind of news is a friend of mine, and my friends. GMG -

I don't have original thoughts so this may be discussed already: The shift CFB is about embarking on will change how recruits will be ranked, from stars to Ks. Recruits will be assessed by their projected star power. A 1K player would be capable of generating 1000/season in self-marketing, 375K projects to 375000/season, etc. Athlete value will be assessed each year they play. P5 schools will be the equivalent of Big Leagues and sign high potential players because the projection is based on a connection to a highly visible football program. G5s will be the equivalent of the minor leagues, and sign players that fall to them. Those players are working hard to get to the Bigs. The transfer portal will be the place where minor leaguers will go to maximize their projected value after their minor league stint, and some will move up to the Pros. It will also be the portal Pro teams will use to "encourage" Pros that have lost enough value to go get the best deal they can elsewhere. The NIL rights change was the likely trigger that sent OU and UT out looking to associate itself with the Pro-est of Pro conferences so they can recruit the players that will have the highest Kvalue. The good news is newspapers that still print (and have anyone that reads the print version) also cover the games in real time and their stories can be read after a game faster than it takes me to get of the Apogee parking lot after a home game. The key is to be newsworthy, where ever you play. GMG
