I am celebrating. I recall literally hundreds of games we should have won, and didn't. We are in a place where a down night doesn't guarantee a loss. And I don't recall us ever being in that place so regularly before. When disappointment equals a win, I'm good. It is the coaches and players that react, work harder, grow and build from games like that. I trust that process continues. GMG

Sun Belt schedule includes Marshall, ODU, USM

Wouldn't that mean 3 less teams to split the media contract $$$$ with in 2022? That extra $67 (split adjusted) could give the NIL program a shot in the arm. GMG -

50th Anniversary of First Game at the Coliseum

January 1980, we beat Texas in overtime. It was my first game as a Spring transfer to North Texas. From Texas. The win immediately solidified my love for this school and its teams, and I haven't worn a burnt orange shirt from the moment I transferred. GMG -
Anyone know the date for that game? Going to book some travel and want to make sure I am in town. GMG

College football's most accommodating homecoming opponent? (no disrespect, but there is no 9+ win season without fixing that) GMG

This is the team I chose. I have no other options, because I chose THIS team. There is not a single team in any sport on any level that I care about. Been here since 1980, and will be here as long as my heart continues to beat. Some here have been here longer than that, and feel similarly. There are times I feel like closing my wallet, turning my back and walking away. That feeling passes fairly quickly because, well, what else would I do. This is my hobby, this is my wardrobe, this is my passion, this effects my mood (up and down), this is my blood. I joke sometimes that I am one of the 10 or so that care North Texas has a football team. That, on its face, is clearly inaccurate. But how many people are on the planet that really care more about North Texas? 50? 100? And with full honesty, most people shouldn't care about their team that much. It creeps up on you. You invest a bit of time, money, heart break and joy in your team. You brag when appropriate, you invite others along for the ride, you realize your not alone. There is a point of no return. And then, you know its in your DNA. And your DNA ain't going away. There is not an administrator, coach or player that has been here as long as I have. I love and support them all because they are currently shepherding my team. But they are all temporary. Enjoy them when you can, be disappointed when you can't. But I have a unique exuberance when we win, that very few fans of other teams will ever feel. Because winning is NEVER a given with my team. Every minute, every player and play of a win is special, exhilarating, joyful. I can't wait for the opening kickoff, 2022. Really. (admittedly, I am not as passionate about other North Texas sports, but I love and support them all) GMG

My confidence pool is blown, but CUSA gets off to a good start. And that should increase NT's confidence going into Thursday. GMG

Well, I thought I could focus on prepping for this afternoon’s job interview. Thanks a lot Mr Lee! (I appreciate your level of engagement in this process, actually) GMG -
That is a very nice list of RB's. I love our running backs, and the guys up front that give them their start. Keep the tradition. GMG

Not official but from the original NT allotment, it sounds like all $65 and $25 tickets are sold out. Who knows how big the allotment was originally, but you can only sell what you have. For now. GMG

True. But so does being a college-aged elite athlete (perhaps a broad leap in defining elite as scholarship-worthy). GMG

I know we are all hung up on coaching talk

Any of the highlight packages have the Pirtle and Lyles plays? And is it a league-wide policy that controversial plays aren't shown on replay in the stadium? I know I saw some questionable calls replayed at FIU. Seems like Apogee never shows them. GMG -
6 +/- 1-2, plus me. Let’s make this a really good story. GMG

For the record, wunderground.com did not make the call with accuracy. But the rain was manageable and sporadic….much like the crowd. Empty is manageable. GMG -

www.wunderground.com says rain will hold off until after 9. Cloudy with few sprinkles this afternoon so far. I am wearing flip flops just in case. GMG -
There is no other answer. I will never pull for my team to lose. Let those in control, control. GMG

Is it true that NT Drumline created the “hit the drumstick of the drummer next to you” technique? My first recall of the Drumline was in 1980 when they passed one stick to the drummer next to them, and the guy on the end left-hand tossed his drumstick over the line to the drummer on the other end of the line…who immediately incorporated the newly acquired stick into the routine all others on the line were doing.
