  1. Agree. Confmiration bias much? GMG
  2. Aune leads the country in yards per completion at just over 16 yards, more than a yard per catch ahead of the second best. Guys getting open and Aune putting it where they can catch it. Fair balance: he misses a few. But when he hits, it often results in a lot of yards. GMG
  3. I think its sad that so many on here are so sad. The historical record for this team is somewhere around 85 games below .500, averaging roughly one game under each season. DT got in the HOF for one wonderful season (along with all the work it took to get there after a major leg break in his first year v Army), that culminated in a rare bowl win. Let this season play out. Save the sadness for the actual, not the talk. And if Austin were to lead a team to a similar season to DT's last, mix in a little joy with the sad. That season would be metaphorically orgasmic. It may be unlikely, but you also could be in the middle of it. Enjoy the ride, bitch when we get a flat tire, but man we just got passed by a super model in a convertible that was flirtingly looking you right in the eye. But, GMG
  4. One play I remember was when he threw it out of bounds to avoid the sack. Gave Mooney a FG try (he made) that was probably 6-7 yards closer that if sacked. Celebrate the win lads, and the game's MVP. GMG
  5. Any news on who WKU will be without? GMG
  6. Odus was close to 40 games over .500 in a program almost 80 games under. Call the Carswell's and Pensacola's Texas Southern, Northwestern State or hell, 2021 FIU. With those guys on his schedule and the best of times in financial support, the current office holder is barely .500. This program was underfunded for the first 90 years or so....many of those were Odus Mitchell years. Against the teams on his schedule, whatever the obstacles, he found a way to win near 40 times more than he lost. I don't know a thing about Jack Sisco but coaching a teachers college, he had twice as many wins as losses and 7 conference championships*. Maybe he's your guy. *records courtesy of Wikipedia, so it may be total bull brownsmell.
  7. Is it a coincidence that North Texas is CFB's most common homecoming opponent? Let's make that a mistake this week. GMG
  8. NT needs to eyeball the opponent they are facing this week. Then the next week, then the week after that, etc. Every week, every season. Looking ahead is best avoided. But as a fan, I am sure we all look at how teams on the schedule are doing. #Hit1, rinse and repeat. GMG
  9. NewDenton doesn't come to the games because the stadium is across the highway. But, GMG
  10. Maybe so, but this Sunday morning would feel awesome. GMG
  11. My son has dove into the podcast thing this season and says yours is the best. Thanks for doing it. GMG (sorry for the crazy fonts...keyboard is toast)
  12. Tailgate giveaway. It's a start. GMG
  13. Thanks! Lets get it done. GMG
  14. Spring was better when NT played D1 baseball. Good to see swag is available. Are donations tax deductible? GMG
  15. Much appreciated SSS. My preacher's wife (Aggie that pointed out to me one of their girls went to A$M) will appreciate that. GMG
  16. Bear with me on this one: wife of one my annual tailgate attendees adores Ms. Drummond and would like to "see" her at the game on 10.15. Literally, just see. From a distance. Really. Anyone have an idea in what section the Drummond family sits? PM me if the answer shouldn't be publicly posted. In fairness, I am in section 110 and I don't mind if anyone wants to come see me. From a distance. GMG
  17. If you don't mind being away from the party, the south end of the blue lot is a nice place to gather. You might find a tree or two down there for shade. Near the main show, I like to park on the East side of the ADA lot (they use the West side of that lot and with it, the shade from Victory Hall where we used to tailgate. There is a slice of land that you share with some of the RVs and other tailgaters but at least you are on dirt. GMG
  18. UNTLifer with the commentary win. GMG
  19. And beats the world’s number one today. Included #11 where both he and Scheffler “eagle”d to halve the hole. Presidents Cup rookie done good. GMG
  20. Nice to see Mr Munoz part of the Presidents Cup World team. LIV took a few of the really good Latin players and it provides an opportunity for Sebastian. GMG
  21. My Memphis buddy sent a few tidbits that made the local fish wrap. *Memphis is getting ready to play a North Texas team that ranks second in the country in plays of at least 10 yards (70) and plays of at least 30 yards (13). The Mean Green is also tied for fifth in plays of at least 40 yards (7) and fourth in plays of at least 50 yards (4). So the Tigers can’t afford to miss too many tackles. *And coach’s comments on GGunnell: https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/sports/college/memphis-tigers/2022/09/19/memphis-football-ryan-silverfield-on-qb-grant-gunnels-transfer-to-north-texas/8039023001/ See you in Memphis. GMG
  22. Agree. I was with the bride, we got there late but we definitely enjoyed the fun. It was a good event, with good effort by the association to make it a fun event. Glad those are before the game, and not after. GMG
  23. They showed team stats during the first drive for each team, maybe the second. The numbers looked accurate. No individual stats, and I don't recall seeing any more after the 1Q. Probably did the right thing. GMG
  24. Well, the tow trucks were in line this morning like there was a sale at Starbucks this morning. The parking lot is being emptied out for what is expected to be a small crowd tonight. There are more parking lot Johnny on the Spots than last week. There is security and personnel in place, moreso than seen last week. And I suspect every fan in the stadium will have a shot at a free t-shirt tonight, if they use as many as last week. #BeatTSU GMG
