  2. WACO, Texas - Due to facility issues at North Texas, the originally scheduled game on Saturday, March 23 between Baylor and North Texas in Denton will take place in Waco at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. Continuing spring play, the Bears and Mean Green will kickoff at 4 p.m. CT. The teams met once during the 2012 season and played to a 0-0 tie in Denton on September 7. Attendance to Saturday's match is free for all fans. Link: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=new_post&f=3 Hate to beat a dead horse... It's a shame I have to go to the Baylor athletics site to confirm a UNT athletic event. (checked because of rain). Thank you Baylor SID for saving me the 80 mile round trip drive to Denton this afternoon !
  3. At a minimum he got them to the sweet 16 ......Huge upset today.
  4. Watching #13 LaSalle put a 1st half whooping on #3 KSU. Announcers made mention to LaSalle head coach John Giannini educational past at UNT. Master's in sports psychology from UNT. Also read he was an assistant coach at UNT in the early 80's. Link: http://www.goexplorers.com/coaches.aspx?rc=593&path=mbball

Spring Game Schedule At Texas 03/02/13 2pm 1-0 Loss Baylor 03/23/13 3pm At TWU 04/07/13 1pm TCU 04/13/13 1pm At SMU 04/20/13 1pm Where is the love from the SID for UNT's back to back conference champs???? Nothing on MGS....no spring schedule, no mention of new signees.....hate to see the coverage if the girls start losing.
  6. Is UNT one player away from a noticeable level of improvement? I will admit I haven’t suffered the long term UNT frustration most are going through, but I am a University of Kansas grad so I do understand football futility. Last year’s UNT’s core group of players had the ability to look respectable verse LSU and played really well against Kansas State. Curious to hear thoughts on would a Lance Dunbar type player being on last year’s team provided a 7-8 win team? Would a player of TY Hilton’s ability have a significant impact on next year’s team? I recall reading about the “Flutie Effect” on BC’s rise in applications for enrollment, donations, ticket sales and overall brand following 1983 Heisman Trophy year. In recent time I look at Cam Newton at Auburn and what Johnny Football has done at Texas A&M. There is no doubt that the Johnny effect will bolster TAMU’s recruiting pipeline for the next few years as well as (ticket & merchandise sales, alumni donations, etc.)…lord knows it’s improved their athletic programs brand. I personally see improvement between the Dodge and MAC programs…. I’m hoping UNT is that “one” player away from making a significant difference.
  7. Tide 38-17...... Bama crushed Michigan (41-16) and ND squeaked by (13-6).....
  8. Add one more to Mean Green Soccer....raised the bar on being consistently good.
  9. You are absolutely correct....my mistake. I guess in my speed reading of the article, I missed a key point. I figured a high school showcase in a high school stadium (not a college showcase in a high school stadium!) lol
  10. 110 of the best high school football players in the nation will play at Allen Eagle Stadium the day before the Superbowl (Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013) The article states, " ......more than 200 scouts and general managers from the National Football League, which supports Texas vs. The Nation, are expected to attend." 11. Hedlund was not hired by RV....
  12. Very strange and infuriating that the DMN posted today the college soccer headline (blog area of college front page), "Texas Tech soccer makes NCAA Tournament, will face North Texas" . Why in the world lead with a Texas Tech contributing editor and not from Vito???? Come on DMN.... support your local university! 16. Not really...Bowling Green has been a nightmare for UNT Soccer the last few years. They are a pretty good team at home.
