Wow! I just returned a few hours ago from La-La. The folks there were great. Had the pleasure of watching the game and yelling with FFR and E. It was an awesome experience... ...but, the Mean Green played just awesome. I was so proud of JJ and the Gang. No matter what anyone says...that was BIG TIME basketball Tuesday night! The guys ere great, the band was great, the few fans we had were great, the uniforms were greazt. It was a GREAT night. It ranks up there with our win at the New Orleans Bowl. Congrats' to the Mean Green! I sure hope they have the Green have a "Bracket Party" and invite all of us!!!!! Ain't it GRAND to be GREEN!!!!!

We have been awarded a team in the American Association...the same league of the Fort Worth Cats. If the citizens vote for the stadium, it will be a $16.7 million dollar stadium, including 12 luxury boxes and the stadium would be ready for the 2008 season. The citizens will vote in May. 1/8 cent sales tax that would be paid off in about 7 years. It would not be a new sales tax. Lone Star Park is being paid off 18 years early. The citizens will also vote on a new 15 million dollar Senior Citizen Center (1/8 cent) and 1/4 cent for a new Police/Fire Administration building. The American Association is the grand daddy of non-affiliated minor league baseball with teams also in St. Paul, Lincoln, Nebraska, Pennsacola, Florida, Shreveport, La., El Paso, Texas to name a few...

For those baseball fans....watch the news tonight (Friday) for a big announcement for those South in the Metroplex. Sorry, no impact to the Mean Green...

I am glad that SMU decided to play us again. The game will be one of the hardest of the year. Even with Dodge Ball it is very hard in collegete sports and come back with back to back wins in big rivaliry games. SMU will pull everything out to win the game against the Green. Don't get me wrong...I believe the Mean Green will prevail...but, it will be an old fashioned "shoot out". ParksAndRecRick

Dallas played Chicken with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. They were confident another city wouldn't do the deal. Well, Arlington and the Vision of their Mayor and Council and City Manager stepped up to the plate. The money that Arlington tax payers and those of us that eat, shop and have fun in Arlington contribute will add up to about $365 million. Jerry Jones will rise another 600 million. Arlington will be home for the Dallas Cowboys, A Super Bowl, The Final Four, The Cotton Bowl, and a host of Major Conference Football Games and other events. Arlington deserves the credit! Dallas played chicken and lost. No matter what you may have read two weeks ago in the Dallas Morning News....the "big dog" is Arlington! I'm proud to be their neighbor... ParksAndRecRick

At the Town Hall Meeting last Wednesday, Coach Dodge said he had some interviews to fill the other Assistant spot. So, unless things have changed, that meangreensports.com list of coaches was probably a temporary assignment. Have a GRAND Valentines Day (Ladies)!

Marc no question that concerts would be good...but, you have a problem with the no alcohol. As you know, that is a major revenue source for the Venues. Often ticket sales go directly to the artist and the venue makes concessions and parking. That would be one thing that hopefully could be overcome. I think if designed right, it could be very succesful. AEG is using Pizza Hut Park in Frisco already.

Yes....I know I am a homer...but, I thought Western Kentucky got away with a myriad of fouls! Especially 32 and Orlando Mendez-Valdez from San Antonio. Lord.....they struck me as cheap shot artists.... But, I dear say, i am a Mean Green Homer to the WKU fans!

Once again, the recruiting day excitement is at full-swing at UNT! From the steaming video of Coach Dodge's Press Conference at 3:30pm to continual updates as the fax machine brings us another Mean Green official commitment. Then at 5pm at the Athletic Center....The Town Hall meeting with Coach Dodge, video of recruits and many exciting updates... Who will be coming to Denton for the 5pm Fun?

I predict the 11th consecutive HOME WIN for the Mean Green Cagers! Also, if it wouldn't be for "Monitor Gate" it would have been a perfect home campaign! That's Sweet!!!!

Zeke your right on. Ruffin was spelling out UNT! Colin and all the rest were really doing a GRAND job. Fans enjoyed congratulating them after the game. It was an electric last few minutes... ...and the Mean Green Pep Band! Sorry, to leave ya out. One word: Awesome!

Ofcourse the players get top honors... But, how 'bout the Pit Crew starting the chant "Stand Up" to all the fans. And, the subs on the Mean Green rallying the fans as well. It was a super night. But, I do think it is important to thank those who helped stiumulate the crowd...when things starting looking bleak. Congrats' to Coach Jones and the Mean Green basketball team. And, as they do on big wins...the players came around and shared the love with the fans! Class! Thanks to all who played an important role in the game... Where was Marc Moffett? I wrote a letter to the Director of the Green Brigade last year. I thought it was one of the most spirited bands in Mean Green history. I bet they are really going to be off the scale in 07 with Dodge Ball!
