Any News On The Smu Coach's Status?
ParksAndRecRick replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Add R.C. Slocum to the list, Applewhite will hold off for better job, many there like T. Bowden and he has relationship with A.D., know it seems like a GRAND stretch but add O'leary to the list (hired by SMU A.D. and apparantly good friends), and Rick Spears is a dark horse. ParksAndRecRick -
We all know how GRAND the Commissioner has been. And, here is something I hope he can pull off in the future... ...Troy RIGHT NOW is a Top 25 program. No question in my mind. We have many Belt programs ready to flourish BIG TIME including our own Mean Green! If we don't have another Bowl tie-in, we need to have the Commissioner the power to take our Number One (in future years) and move them to another Bowl or bring a ranked team to New Orleans. I believe we will have a 10-2 or 11-1 team in the Belt very soon.... If you look what happens when the come to Belt Stadiums, the results are clear! The Belt can play football!!!! You gugs who know more about this type thing...is it possible some day that all Division I conferences can be B.C.S. Conferences? I was just wondering. Big game for the Mean Green Saturday! Remember that Troy is a Top 25 program RIGHT NOW! Go Green! Go Sun Belt!

OK Dudes...get ready to fire back at ParksAndRecRick. A Presidents Council Member and Mean Green Club Member. I don't go to the Presidents Council Tent and I very rarely go to the Ben E. Keith Deck. I do something totally different: I BRING BEER! KRAM, this next comment is NOT meant at you. But, I am ranting. We are the most spoiled fans in football. I can't believe what I get from Athletics for many annual donation. If we were at a bigger school, it wouldn't even get me a parking pass! We are petty! We are cheap (and that has nothing to due with income level)! We are spoiled! Rant Completed! XXXOOO (really) ParksAndRecRick

Obviously, congrats' to the players and coaches for the first win of the Coach Dodge Era. GRAND performance gang! We are proud of you... ....but, I have to say, how PUMPED we all where with all the tailgaiting and then the attendence at the ball game! It was AWESOME! If we can just stay in this thing together....we will have the crowds in the 25 to 30k range in no time! What ya say? Let's Unite to Excite! Congrats also to Rick V. and his staff as well.... See ya Soon! Geaux Mean Green! ParksAndRecExcitedRick
-
Games should start at 7:30pm! "Ya Can't Get Their From Here" at 7pm. I believe attendence would increase by atleast 500 per game (weekdays)!
-
See you at fabulous Fout Field for home game number 2. Weather is GRAND! The football will by flying... Let's start it off by welcoming the team at the Mean Green March two-hours before game time! And, in tribute to our visitors today.... GEAUX GREEN!!!

Bro Fitch----Ye Fake One---I think you are full of The Ticket Schtick! However, you don't use it nearly as clever or witty. No more support you say? why don't you tell us about your financial support to the Athletic Department and University? Also Bro---We will welcome you back to the Bandwagon when it gets turned around. That's what winners do! Forever Green! ParksAndRecRick A UNT Insutition Since 1984

About 45 minutes before the game a big storm came over the stadium....and I'm not sure how many people left, but it surely kept them away. If there were 3,000 people at the game it would surprize me..... Week 6 upcoming and only our second home game! It will be good to be at Fouts. Hope everyone comes out to support the Mean Green....and for those who loved the Fouts restrooms before the remodel this year. They were still better than those on our side of the stadium at La-La. In fact, I think they bought our old fixtures. What a mess.....And, speaking of a mess. They had a disc jockey on the field and he played more than the La-La band did. In fact, some of us believe the band didn't play except at half-time and after the game......La-La is another of those cities you really should consider traveling to in the future. Many parents at this one.....Cary and Brad got a little carried away watching a La-La Fan dancing. Bro Fincher and myself helped bring them back to reality.....Best Stop: Those world famous meat pies at the home of Northwestern State University! You know the City..... Pleasure to meet Bill and his wife from Victoria. They come to every Mean Green game. Wow, what great fans......Big win for the Coach of La-La. It was treated almost like Kansas State when they beat us there to end their skid years ago. Lord, I thought they qualified for the New Orleans Bowl..... Hope Super-J is ok. It looked more like an ankle than a hamstring. And, Micah is a tough one! He is destined for some good years at UNT....Back to the battle field against Monroe next Saturday at Fouts. Please do your best to come out to Fouts! This has been a wild College football season across the Country already this season. I believe it turns around with a BIG WIN at Fouts next week! Come by and say hello at the Mean Green March two hours before kick-off! Until then, "Forever Green"!

NOCagun, We were planning on visiting Avery Island on Sunday. Have you made the visit....and is it worth it? -
I emailed them one time and they said that feature had not yet been activated. That was a while back however....

We will be off to La-La on Saturday...and looking forward to the Mean Green getting their first win in SBC play! It will probably be a wild one....but, I believe we are in for some GRAND fun in La-La! Debating on going? Why not join us and support your Mean Green.... They have played 4 of the first 5 games on the road and could use some friendly fans wearing green and cheering wildly. Great food in La-La! The Cowboys are off on Sunday, so you can join us on a tour of Tobasco and Avery Island on Sunday. Mandy and the crew will have our Tailgate tents up...the food will be cookin' and it's a GRAND time to make new Mean Green friends, meet some players parents and enjoy the family atmosphere of Mean Green sports! "This journey is just beginning....and our time will come soon enough!" Come join us! See ya in La-La! ParksAndRecRick A UNT instutition since 1980

"Folks, the Journey is Just Beginning....and, we will all look back on these games and it will make our wins even more SWEET!"

You should still believe! Hell, it's four games! "Believe in the Green!" GRAND days are ahead! From Adversity comes Champions! If you want to jump off the bandwagon...it is your choice! There will be plenty more to jump aboard when the ship gets turned around... ...and yes you will be welcome to come back again! See ya in La-La! ParksAndRecRick
