  3. New season, same team. I am begging to think we have the worst fans in America. By the way, UNTBOWLER, in case you didn't know, UNT won the SunBelt Confernece Post-Season tournament and went to the Show last year! I'm beggining to think our gomeangreen.com nation should be "The Over-Reactors" Rick
  4. Embarrasing topic..

  10. The Pit Crew was just dang right awesome against Oklahoma State. What a super turn-out by the Students. By I was just as impressed with the turn-out on a Saturday afternoon game against Indiana State. We do have a lot to cheer for!!! But, I think you are really making a difference. Coach Jones said as much after the game on the radio! Congrats' again! The Magic is BACK in the Super Pit! Way to go Pit Crew!!!! ParksAndRecRick
  11. We are on the path for Greatness! Believe---it's really fun!
  12. What will make our games and future seasons even more exciting are the battles that we have not won this year. Our returning players will be stronger and more determined than ever. Our hard-working and dedicated coaches will continue to develop new and exciting battle plans. And, each of us, will have an opporutnity to enjoy the fruits of improvement and winning. I have said many times before, being a Mean Green fan is not easy! It's easy to be a Longhorn or Sooner fan! It's easy to root for those who have mega-millions to plow into a program and if things aren't going smoothly, have the funds to implode and start over without any problem paying their way. Texas A&M is a good example here. I don't down these programs at all! It is just much, much easier to be a fan of those programs, coach in those programs, an Athletic Director in those progams. Dissapointment and adversity take their toll. I don't deny anyone their rights to express their feelings and beliefs, but I do believe that we often bi-pass "faith" or give new opportunites/changes to little time. Personally, we need a good case of "we believe in the Mean Green". Never said it's easy. Frustration wears thin and causes all of us, even this Pot Belly Parks and Recreation Director to over-react. My staff will gladly share the stories. I write this also because of the feeling that remains in my heart after our win against Oklahoma State in basketball Wednesday night in the Super Pit. Watching the students storm the floor. Watching Josh White being carried around the Super Pit floor. Watching Johnny Jones during the game---and his calming nature. Has the last year and a half been worth the wait---I say yes. So, for those who say it is a waiste of time to come to the Western Kentucky game, I urge you to please re-consider. Everyone has some hurt. Everyone has some dissapointment. But, everyone is working to overcome this adversity....and we all will be better for it. And, I can point to countless examples of the excitement that lies ahead from watching our first games in this journey. Yes, it is not always easy to be a Mean Green fan. But, it is so rewarding, when you overcome the obstacles that a growing program faces. We have had much excitement in the last six years. Rick Villareal and his Staff are working to make that excitement "on-going".... through new faiclities, winning programs, and exciting, dyanamic coaches and wonderful student-athletes. I'm proud that our University covets diversity. I'm proud that we have to work harder than other programs. I'm proud that our fan base is ready for the Mean Green Nation to explode. And, I'm proud that the "little commuter school" is truely becoming a force that others are watching. Note, the fans in Oklahoma State on Wednesday! Again, I would never challenge your right to share your feelings and beliefs. But, I do ask you to look forward. Together----Everyone Achieves More! I'm older than many of the gomeangreen.com nation. A year or two may make you older---but, if we stay togehter--- it will for sure as heck make all of us stronger! And, you will see, our day lies just around the corner..... Believe! Forever Green, Rick Herold ParksAndRecRick Director of Parks and Recreation City of Grand Prairie Engage. Inspire. Change a Life Today!

  19. Busing in from Winstar!!!!
  20. I think it was a good move. Let me remind everyone, and Emmitt and FFR will agree with me. No way their was 1,000 people in attendance for the SBC Post-Season Tournament Championship last year in La-La in a beautiful arena. Maybe 500. Thus, when the host school is not in the finals...this would continue to happen.....so this makes sense. Not that the crowds will be any larger, but you can bet the SunBelt got a nice amount of tourism cash from Hot Springs....if it is a good investment for Hot Springs only time will tell. I do believe it was worth a try however. All I know is... I would love Back to Back!
  21. Floor Seats are sold out. If you give a 1,000 minnimum, i highly recommend to get on the waiting list for floor seats.
  22. This remains a very important topic to me. It will be for us someday and right now it may be for Troy. It is not going exciting for Troy to play in the New Orleans Bowl with a low represenative from weak Conference USA. Wright has to keep our relationship with the New Orleans Bowl, but there has to be 2 options explored: Our Champion (based on some critieria) has the right to go to a bigger bowl and the 2nd place Sun Belt team goes to New Orleans. We have an opportunity to bring a better oponent into the New Orleans Bowl. With all the Bowl deals, I don't even know if that is viable. (You guys in the know, probably can say if that is even possible). Troy will be the next team to want to leave the SunBelt. As i posted a few weeks ago, they are a Top 25 program right now. We have to have some incentive when our teams get to that level. I would expect a blow-out in New Orleans for the Belt. I enjoy that...we all should! However, I worry about the future without another option for the Belt Champions when we are this strong. I suggest that Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee will be on that level very quick. As, may one of the Florida schools, Western Kentucky and us. What do you think?
  23. Sorry I missed the post. I was out of town. Only one must eat place: The Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood!!!! Happy Birthday Pal!
