All I know is, Riley is an incredible redshirt freshman quarterback. And, the "savior" comments are dreamed up in your heads...and not in the heads of our Head Coach or Quarterback. I can't beleve we will have 3 more years of this awesome talent leading the Mean Green. Y'all will ALL change your minds! Everyone is free to rant gang. I don't want to take it away from ya....it's just that y'all are so wrong!

The improvment of the Mean Green continues to amaze me. This team is night and day from the last two years. And, what that means to me is that some wins are right around the corner. I said it last week...and I continue to believe it...this team reminds me of the turnaround team years ago. Their time will come! I am very proud of the team, the Coaches, the redshirt freshman quarterback and the rest. When they ended up losing...the only people I felt sorry for were the team and the coaches. I sure didn't feel sorry for the "sky is falling and fire the coach" fans....which are a trademark of this University. So, I say it now. When we begin winning, we will welcome you back aboard the ship again, cause that is what we do. I'm very happy most recruits and players don't read this message board. There is no way in hell you could I would go to UNT or play for UNT with this attitude. However, to the players and recruits who do read this message board....please understand not all the Mean Green faithful are militants! We do believe in the power of the Green. To my pal Harry Miers, one of my happiest times was when the board crashed last night. It left me some time before I had to read how we chocked and how we should change quarterbacks and why we should change coaching staffs. But, thankfully the Board is back... and here we go! Gang, you will be welcome back when the winning starts....and it will. To the players and Coaches..... "I believe in the Mean Green!" Prejeans' would be a GRAND choice! It will be my 4th trip to La-La for a football game. Y'all will really enjoy it. A trip to the tobasco store on Sunday would also be fun. Go Mean Green!

No personal attacks are intended in this topic..... In 2001, most of the UNT football faithful were unified.... let's fire the Coach and start over. I know most of you will not admit it....but, I hope you enjoyed the 4 New Orleands Bowls that followed. I wasn't surprized that it all started again after the Alabama game and continued with our loss to Middle Tenn. Start over again.... Remove Riley from Quarterback. I am older than many of you, and with that, I have lived, like each of you, through the good and bad at the University of North Texas.....excet I have been around a little longer. And, again, I ask you to step back and support the team. With today's Sunbelt, I am not predicting four years of perfect conference wins. But, in all honestly, to many of the Mean Green faithful, that wasn't enough to satisfy us either. Most Mean Green fans supported the Coaching change! "A new day in UNT football", most proclaimed. However, this program requires patience, stability, and we must possess the inner strengt to continue to support the Coaches and players. Those that know me....and many of you do, understand it is hard for me too. But, a Head Coach who is still making changes adjusting to Major College Football, a red-shirt quarterback, and the rest of our team---need more time. You have a new football stadium coming! To start anew, would delay what WE ALL desire....another SunBelt Conference championship. It will come! And, as a few years ago, it will be very, very sweet! It's easy to be a fan of many college football programs. It is not easy being a Mean Green fan! However, when it all clicks, and it will, it sure is a lot more fun! Again, I am NOT challenging anyone or telling you not to share your thoughts. It is the GoMeanGreen way! Just sharing my thoughts....and my hopes for Mean Green football. I wanted to mention this all week. I remember the game so well! I remember going over for the bonfire. It started an amazing run. Because of the strength of the SunBelt, I don't think that run will ever be topped. But, I have a funny feeling that Saturday will be special for the Mean Green Nation. The latest Brad Olson Rocket Ship RoadTrip Rally arrived safely in Bessemer, Alabama. Huge thunderstorms welcomed us to Alabama yesterday evening. I was at Las Colinas country club for the Mean Green tour today (Tuesday). Coach Dodge hoped to have Riley back for Middle Tenn., but could be 3 weeks. GRAND event! Urge you to make one on the tour at Los Colinas or Stonebriar. Go Green!

I am amazed at the turn-around of the Mean Green football team the first two games of the season. The MAC is a coming conference, and the first two games against legitimate competion shows one major thing...."it is new day for UNT football". The speed difference compared to last years, is truly night and day. The players play with unbridled emotion. There is a excitement that is every evident. The team deserves our respect and thanks! I look forward to travelling to Alabama this weekend. I'm postive no team in College football will boast of a better turn-around by the end of season. It is fun again! See everyone at Fouts against Middle Tennessee. I hope that Riley's injury is not serious. His leadersip is evident on each and every play. Go Mean Green!

GRAND time last night, watching the Mean Green victory with a big group at Fox and Hound on Midway Rd. Thanks to Derrick and the Staff for one awesome evening. You might be right. Flyer and sure not trying to be negaitive. But, it seems like a longshot. And, especially with a Leed certified facility. I have not heard yet as to what degree of Leed Certification that UNT is attempting. Construction documents and the such just take a while to put together. UNT does have HKS, one of America's best firms, indeed. But, turning it around that quick will be very interesting. And, on another level, do they have to raise the other $30 million before construction begins, or can they get loans to continue. We have a $21 million Senior center, Leed certified building, with construction starting soon....it has a May 1, 2010 projected opening. But, we have been working on the project with design and construction documents for a long time. I would do nothing BETTER than to say WOW if a 2010 date is announced...but, I still believe a 2012 date could happen easier than 2010, but I sure don't have the inside info that you have....So GRAND luck!!!!! Our new Minor League Stadium in Grand Prairie cost $21 million. I believe 7 to 9 million would bring a GRAND baseball facility to UNT. Rick Herold

Before 7,000 at the Opening Ceremonies of the National Recreation and Parks Association Congress, the Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Dept. won the "Gold Medal" Class II (cities from 100,000 to 250,000). Only one city wins in that category. It is the highest honor that a Parks and Recreation Department can receive in America!
