I agree. It was nice having Coach Deloach return to the Mean Green, but I just can't imagine being retained. And, I guarantee you, he has been in the business so long, he understands. Let's hope he finds a new home.

I have a totally different take. They did ask the folks to be quiet at the far side of the room. But, it was pure excitement and people just talking about the great changes. Their was Rick V and Coach Mac at the far end of the room away from the entrance. There were about 80 people surrounding them and standing, so their was no view of anything going on. With that, people started talking at their tables, Coach Chico was at the other end of the room. I really think that was blown up. It was NOT like he was at the front of the room and everyone seating and people talking. It must also be noted that when Rick V and Coach Mac entered the room about 45 minutes early. Rick introduced Coach Mac, and even though he didn't have a microphone, everyone heard him and he got a great round of applause and talked for about 10 minutes. That's exactly what happened. Really, much about nothing. I was one of the first 10 people in the room.

I'm with everyone... Can we all say "WOW"! Coach Mac was great. And, when he mentioned his Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator I knew the Mean Green Nation would come together. I want you to think about Coach Mac and Coach Chico in a house talking to a recruit and his parents. Seriously, could you think of anyone with more passion, sincereity, and now with the stadium even more to sell. I know gang, lots of green coolaid, but wow what a GRAND day. Got to speak to Coach Mac and Coach Chico at the reception. I know their was a lot of noise when asking questions, but seriously, it was just because everyone was fired up. Do we really have to wait for 9 more months? Recruiting will be very exciting I predict. Another day I am proud to be greeen! Rick

According to Brett Vito's latest blog, Coach McCarney will meet the players at 3pm on Tuesday, after his Press Conference, but before he meets with the Mean Green Club. I believe he will get off to a grand start. He is a playrs coach. No doubt, many will miss Coach Chico if he is gone, but Coach Dodge was respected by the players as well. All the players will go through the Growth Mode....and I be ready to rock come spring.

I'm looking forward to meeting Coach McCarney at the Mean Green Club event Tuesday night before our Mean Green Cagers play host to UTA. Just wondering who else is in for the special welcome to Mean Green Country! Let's make him feel at home! Mean Green Family, I am proud to be a family member with all of you; for Many reasons, but what I like the most is...sometimes it is damn hard to be a UNT Mean Green Fan. We have had to conquer so much in the past 20 years. Seems like we have always been in a catch up mode, be it funding, facilities, or even perceptions. But, I know one thing. We do come together and lord do we enjoy our big victories. Many people wanted another head football coach, but we are already coming together to welcome Coach Mac. That's the Mean Green style. Our time will come! And, as always, it is just sweeter. Sorry, but it is EASY being a fan for OU, UT, and the big boys. We are always the Underdog in DFW. Our Men's basketball team under the leadership of Coach Jones has brought us many grand moments, and this year could be really special. Tennis, golf, volleyball, track, and swimming are all on the upswing...Now it's time for football to take a giant step up in the world of college football. No matter our fights between ourselves, is is because of our damn passion to win, to be able to boast about our University, and to let people know UNT is a Univesity on the upswing. And, although we bitch at each other quite often...I am proud to be on the same team with all the gomeangreen.com posters! NOW, what has anyone heard about the Press Conference? Please post any updates....

I am a big fan of Riley. Great ability, a winner, and an incredible heart. I hope he is ok...and hope he stays at UNT. With his Dad, it had to be incredible pressure, with all that has happened....especially this year. Thanks RD!

I don't want to keep starting topics, so I will post this here... I totally understand your appreciation and love for Coach Chico. He did a grand job indeed. I thought last night was the best game since our win over Cincy in the New Orleans Bowl. Many of you have mentioned the comments of the classy Bill Snyder to Coach Chico after the game. Coach Chico said that Snyder said "you beat us up" and "they would be a fool not to hire you." No question in my mind Coach Snyder said those comments. However, those of you who say, what would Coach Snyder say about Coach MaCarney gettng the job. I bet he would say, "Wow" what a great job for UNT. Coach Chico will get a head job! I hope he does this year. He does deserve it. Lord knows he is a master for politicing for one (and I don't mean that negative at all, very impressive). If he doesnt, I would love for him to stay...but, that would not be possible. And, I understand guys, someone has to always give a chance for someone to get their first head job. Maybe UNT should have? However, I support the McCarney higher, just from his wealth of experience and just what others in the business think of him. Then, all of you believe Rick V was not in the decision process or was pushed into this decision. NO one has proof of that as well. I fully know about the President and the Consultant, and have looked at both of them. Granted, their was others in the process, but Rick V. made the call. I remember y'all loving the Coach Dodge hire. I remember many of you saying with Coach Deloach back, we will be awesome defensively! Watch out! Coach Deloach for President! Personally, I think all the injuuries killed the defense and killed the season. I personally give Coach Dodge and Coach Chico and Coach Deloach passes. But, we have a new stadium and new opportunities and a change was called for... 100 percent say everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have no right to personally attack anyone for thier thoughts. And, this forum is for that. Just in my humble opinion, and those that know me know I was hoping for another candidate, I am right now putting all my support behind the new head Coach. Recruiting is in front us...and would love to see us as united as possible. Do you think it matters at all in recruiting. I belive it does.... Sorry some of you are dissapointed. Sorry for Coach Chico. Decision is done. Let's all show up and get off to a grand start with Coach Mac!
