No big deal Fanatic, I don't know how this post went off on this tangent and I probably shouldn't have even brought up the tailagte stuff. I just wanted to let you know that I do support all the programs. I never played football past junior high. I played soccer and baseball on high school. This discussion is much like a Title IX discussion. What resources should be used for whom and what is fair.. along with not depriving others of a resource to reward someone (the players) that already essentially being being rewarded with a scholarship. I do think that parking at Fouts Field is not any type of reward. Like I said before, parking at Fouts was free when I was there but nobody really used it unless they just had lots of extra time on there hands to wait around for shuttles. All of this should be taken care of when the stadium and practice facilities are moved accross the street. There will be athlete and BAND and employee parking for over there and that way the "free" parking cannot be used for classes, too. If someone wants to park over there and walk accross I-35 to catch a shuttle than so be it, let them. Not an easy answer to this but I don't think any of the groups (basketball, soccer, football, band, etc...) should be charged to park at a mandatory practice location. It would be unheard of at any other Div IA school and should be here, too. Does that Fouts Field lot really fill up? Maybe I am just really out of touch with how big NT has gotten. I do think that the main money makers at NT should be given every extra legal perk allowed by NCAA rules. We have to do this in order to compete with other schools recruiting against us. If it is againt NCAA rules than there is nothing we can do about it but I seriously doubt it. Thanks for all the you do. We will have a party after signing day at some neutral location and I would like to have as many students show up as possible. It is time to start planning tailgating for next season to give us something to do in the offseason and I want to continue what has already been started. We made great strides this year, next year should be even more fun.
-
Yeah, I helped feed the entire band before 3 football games because I enjoy giving away my money, time, and sewating so bad that I am miserable during the game. It is really obvious that I do not support them as a result of this. I support all programs at NT. Football takes more time, energy, and than any other program. They are also the only entity that pays fort heir own way, along with paying for every other sport that we have - men's and women's - along with the cheerleaders - and yes, the band. So do I think they should be given free parking to go work out and lift weight at 5 in the morning in the offseason? Absolutely. Last time I checked, nobody ever risked their life while bringing in millions of dollars for the school by playing the trombone. Enjoy your brisket next year.... again.

The Kangaroo Kick AGAIN!!!! God, how many times does he think that is going to work??? And what the hell, is this RUGBY? G'Day Mate, but gimme a break, stop trying to punt the ball on the run! Good comic relief, Aaron. I appreciate you bringing us all back down to what is the most important... criticizing Dickey! Just kidding, I will never eat crow again! Have a good show tonight. Tell JayDub.. The Bigger the Better, he will know what I am tlaking about.

First of all Eagle Chick.. sorry, slip of tongue. I mixed you up with UNTFan23. In my day, parking was free at Fouts. Evidently the parking is so bad now that that is not the case anymore. If you give a kid a scholarship including a monthly allowance and do not allow him to have a job anywhere than he deserves to park at the stadium (no where else on campus) for free. Just because he has to be there every day and even on the weekends and holidays. If he wants to upgrade to a better pass to park close to his classes than so be it, he should foot the bill for it. (I always bought the garage parking pass next to the union becasue I was always 10 minutes lae to class!) I can not see any other SERIOUS Div IA school in the country try to charge their players to park at their mandatory practices. As far as the band, other sports, and other student clubs and the time that they take. Take the time you have to put into it and multiply it by 50 and you will be somewhat close to what the football players have to put in. It comes out to about $.13 an hour; but some people have no choice and others love the game. LUCKILY, the athletes are offered drm space very close to the foield in both Mozart Square and that other ugly pink building where they can walk to school and yes, they can park their cars there. So why is it different to park their cars at their dorm but not at Fouts Field? Looks like we just disagree with each other on this. Still has nothing to do with the fact that Marshall stole a permit and got busted for doing it which is the original by line on this thread. He was wrong and should be punished for it; whether he accepted a stolen pass or stole it himself is irrellevant. He shouldn't have been using it. It would be like me trying to use a handicap sticker to park for free right nest to the stadium at a Cowboys game, just illegal, that's all. Whether I stole it or not, it is illegal.
-
Well, I disagree. Where were you at 5 this morning? I would bet it was asleep, and that is the same for most of you. Our football players were lifting weights. Afer that they do Spring practice and the Spring game, after that more weights until Summer "volunteer" workouts and sure they are voluntary but try not showing up for them.. you will see how voluntary they are. The they start two-a-days where they work their asses off in 1000+ degree weather twice a day running the same damn plays over and over again. The the season comes and the very first reward they get is to go to Norman Oklahoma and hand over a 500K dollar check to the University for getting destroyed most likely. And you say that we can't let them park at FOUTS FIELD for free? Gimme a damn break people. A football player does three times as much as any band member, basketball player, or any other sport for that matter. EagleChick, wewre you up at a mandatry tuba meeting at 5 a.m. every day since you got back to school? Didn't think so. If it is against NCAA rules than rope off an area that is just for them or let them park on the damn grass or something. Charging a player to come to a 5 am mandatory workout is preposterous. And asking him to get up an hour earlier to go park somewhere else and take a shuttle to an empty lot is even more preposterous.

I was a groomsmen in a Wedding this last weekend in Florida (had to miss the banquet - DOH!). The wedding party had resreved a gazebo for picture and such as the Ctholic church had some pretty strict rules regarding how many pictures could be taken in their house of prayer. The bride's dad paid good money to reserve the gazebo and when we showed up to do it, WAR PROTEST. I walked right up to the head hippie in charge and asked if I could talk to him. I explained the situation to him and he actually got on the microphone and said that they were going to have to cut it short, blah blah blah.. The crowd went nuts, I thought they were going to riot. They were screaming that they would not be squelched by another Bush propaganda move and the like. They refused to give way and went back to hugging all of the trees and smoking pot, etc... This group of people truly believed that President Bush (or his brother) had found out about their 30 person protest and scheduled a wedding party complete with tuxedos and limos just to end the protest early. It was so ridiculous. I had a lady come hand me a flyer and then ask for $25 for the cause. I laughed and tried to tell her what was going on and she stormed off telling me that war was nothing to laugh at. I wasn't laughing at the war; hell I have one of my best friends over there crapping his pants about this whole war because he is getting ready to fight it. I was laughing at the hyprocrisy of the whole situation. How could a photo copied flyer filled with ridiculous accusations cost $25 to make? There were no young people there, just ex-hippies that have been waiting for something like this to come along since the last Gulf War so they could have something to do and an excuse to smoke pot. The whole thing just pissed me off. There are some wars we should stay the hell out of. When we are attacked, we HAVE to attack back; that is how it goes. If we don't then the attacks will keep coming. It really makes you re-think the whole situation of holding back the Israelis for all of these years. They have been begging to get the go ahead to fight back for so long and we have kept their hands tied to keep our oil prices down. Just think of what the Middle East would be like if we had allowed those countries to duke it out over their own disagreements the way that they wanted to. Sure we might have paid more for oil for a little while but 9/11 would have never happened. Now we are ina situation where we have no choice but to go in and be the bad guys. And my buddy's wedding even got messed up because of it. This is gonna get ugly before all is said and done. Everyone needs to go back and remember how they felt on 9/11. Watch the old footage, watch those people running for their lives, then put their god damn peace posters down and support what we have been FORCED to do now, rather than bitch about what should have been done in the past. I am glad you brought it up Rick, we should not be scared to talk about it. The worst thing that can happen is that we ignore it like it never happened. We need to remember and learn from the events last year. Not run from what we have to do to prevent them in the future. Economic sanctions just do not work. They are ignored and eventually the people that suffer are those that we need on our side, the common man. I wonder how preposterous people in Iraz would think it was that a group of 30 neighbors were FIGHTING against a SCHOOL trying to expand to educate more people. A SCHOOL trying to spend 100 million dollars in improving thri economy and well being of the city they live in. The Denuia folks need to be happy that we live oin a country where education is expanding and we are building schools rather than weapon's facilities in their back yards. I wonder how the Iraqi people would react to being offered a greenspace between their neighborhood and an area where their dictator was testing chemical weapons on his own people. People in America have had it too easy for too long. Peace is not always the answer, sometimes you have to fight to protect your country and all of the damn greenspace that we have.

UL just got done playing in a tourney where there were 4 teams and instead of playing a consolation and championship game, all 4 teams played each other. Colorado St won the tourney 3-0 BARELY, but it would be great for a metroplex version of that to take place. Three games in three days. Whoever has the best record in the tourney gets the trophy. That way if you lose the first game you are not knocked out of it, you just need some other teams to lose. A 2-1 reecord tie is obviously decided by the head to head outcome. I would see no reason for UNT, TCU, UNT, and UTA to go for that and to have it either at a neutral site or have it rotate venues with the exception of playing at The Stage. It is just not a basketball venue in any way. You would not be able to tell who was cheering for who, there is no visitor/home team side. Maybe there is a high school in the area that could host it for UTA every 4th year. I would think that a local station like Ch 27 would pick it up easily and it could really be a great (and CHEAP) recruiting tool. Basically there are three days of basketball with a double header every day. It would go something like this: Day One: NT vs TCU UTA vs SMU Day two: NT vs UTA TCU vs SMU Day three: NT vs SMU TCU vs UTA Rotate venues every year so there is no "home court advantage". TV would be great but most of us have both the student station play the games as well as a commercial station. If nothing else you would be able to get the games on 8 radio stations in the metroplex. Could really be something special and would draw well. A home and home with the UTA Rebels would probably be out of the question. We would want to get guaranteed games with TCU and SMU as a result. Money would be simple, each of the 3 "traveling" schools would no likely want to stay in a hotel in either Ft Worth, Arlington, Dallas, or Denton. They would just stay Fri and Sat as Sunday they could bus home. Make it so that the visiting teams get an allotment for "traveling" and lodging/food expenses (not a lot for a basketball team) and let the host venue keep the rest of walk up sales. Teams would sell their own seats and pay half to the tourney and get to keep the rest. That way if UTA only sold 100 tickets than they would only make that much money which would normally be the sticking point in scheduling a game with the Rebels. It is all about money and respect. Money should be covered easily with these teams. The respect thing would be easy to win over because all 4 teams would think that they have a chance to win in this format. 4 different conferences represented as well. Great idea Mav Man, I just "tweaked" it little. By the way, you should change back to the Rebels for your mascot. The Mavericks just sounds goofy since the local pro team are really the real Mavs. Good luck this season, watch out for those NE Louisiana Injuns!

Baylor has the 325th ranked schedule (out of 327 IA teams), they are 6-2 but they have played the equivalent of Cupcake U's schedule over and over again. They are ranked lower than us in Sags at 172: 172 Baylor = 73.95 6 2 66.93( 325) 0 0 | 0 0 | 73.58 174 | 73.56 167 We are at #158: 158 North Texas = 74.68 3 5 79.92( 22) 0 1 | 0 1 | 76.78 119 | 71.89 196 So 14 spots ahead of them, give them the 4 points that sags allows for home point adavantage and we should be favored by 10. Anyone know the line? Of course Sags rankings do not put in the fact that we have lost our most pure shooter in Hopkins! Take away the Hopkins average of 13 points a game and we have a real ball game tonight! Make sure to listen in and I hope to se you guys in the chat.

UNT96 replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
That is exactly what I was thinking harry, I think there is only one other coach that was here from the Simon days.. and he might even be gone now. Dickey has HIS staff in place now and that is very important in my opinion. During the second half of the season, the O-Line gave our QB all the time on the world; but the first half Andrew was running around way too much from the penetration. Dickey called them out on it after the TCU game. Now they did get it together and had a great second half of the season but I think UNT could have kept him if they really wanted to. RV and DD would have found a way, just time for a change, nothing more, nothing less. -
Hopkins was by far the most consistent player on the team. He took off where Deg left off, consistently getting his points, rebounds, and being money from the line. There is no other player I can honestly say that about; not even Davis. Davis has had other cold streaks before this year, and for some reason seems to get nervous during the important times. I remember last year we played Denver and the Phoenix Suns had sent a scout to look at Chris, Chris had 7 points that day. Hopkins, playing his usual 17-18 minutes had over 20 that day in half the time. When they interviewed the scout at half, they were telling him that Chris was just having an off game and that to let his season speak for itself and the scout said something along the lines of "Oh, we knew all about how good Chris was, but what about that opkins kid" As far as shooting droughts... Hopkins might have had one eventually, too.. but it had not happened yet and is probably a good part of the reason we won 15 games last year. But this is not a Rah-Rah post for old Lenny; this has another purpose... The fun part is this.. Now we can see how good of a coach Jones is. We all know he is a good coach, but let's see how he adjusts to losing what could be considered the star (if not future) star player and is that "great" coach that most of us think he is. Merry Christmas and I guess I better get to my folks. Stay safe today and all year long and Go Mean Green!

Stacy, do you have a website for the team yet? I would be willing to bet that someone would put one together for you free of charge if you can get permission to have it hosted on the school server. It could have the bios and picks of players, coaches, etc.. I would like to start getting acquainted with the names and faces of the players and the coaches. By the way, a big group of fans are going to a happy hour in New Orleans before the official dinner on Monday. Are you making the trek to the Big Easy? Why is it so bad to call the Lady's teams "Mean Green" There is really nothing wrong with it. I guess it is to apease the folks that are dead set on us becoming "Mean Green" across the board but NMSU did the same thing for the longest time. The men's teams were the Aggies and the lady teams were the Roadrunners. I guess Aggies sounded too masculine for them. Last year they started calling the lady teams the Lady Aggies. Why can't we just call the women the Lady Green? I believe in consistency and originality. There are 17 other teams with either Eagle of Golden Eagle as their team name. The Mean Green is a very unique name with serious marketability. I think we should take it and run with it. Thoughts? By the way, I cannot see Daffy the Eagle in any of the pics so it must not be too big. By the way, thank you so much for the photos Eric. I had to work into the night and missed the window of opportunity to drive from Dallas to Denton. That drive can take you a good 3 hours if you wait too long because the traffic is so bad. Oh well, it is worth it to get ready for a 4 day vacation in N'Awlins!

I'll meet you guys in there. Boring Sat night.

Well, this is the 2ndd time this season that a game has cut out with seconds left and the game on the line. We must be using the same company for our phone service that screws up all of our charter flights.

That recruiting class combined with JJ as the coach would equal a Gonzaga type team with the possibility of being even better. I don't think people really understand just how good that class was. Trilli really came in with a vision, it is too bad he couldn't coach worth a darn. But we can always thank him for the green seats and the not-so-jumbo trons in the Pit. He got all that going.
-
Today's DaMN has Deg listed as a starter for the shorthorns this year. Deg went up against a MOUNTAIN when he went to UT, he had to pay his own way and sit out a year. He got very limited playing time and then suddenly they started playing him. He had the highest average in almost every category during the NCAA tourney play for the Horns last March. Now he has a ship and has earned a starting spot. Unfortunately, by my calculations this is his last year of eligibility so if he has any shot at the pros, he needs to have a MAJOR YEAR. I know a lot of you do not agree with what Deg did but he was watching his career beeing flushed down the toilet by Trilli and this was way before RV and JJ... so he left in hopes of reaching his dream. I don't blame him one bit and am very happy for him. Now Jason Miller... that is a different story, he knew that change was coming but refused to give it a chance; let's see how he does this year at OSU.

Maybe they will suspend the Greenbackers next. Stupid officials trying to justify their existence. Happens with any public service worker. Good thing my fraternity house a house off the row, maybe we can throw some massive parties now.

Damnit - For OVER 7 years, Harry has has put his blood sweat and tears into 4 diferent Mean Green Sites (paradise board, some board I can't remember, the Rivals site, and now the Go Mean Green Site.) He has spend literally Tens od thousdands of hours and money all to give us a place to meet one another. I know that we are all procastrinators as a norm; but dangit. Harry desrves an alumnus award. I will personally copy the applications and send them to you for free in a self addressed stamped envleope and deliver them myself. Harry deserves this award this year. This is his year. I think he desrves the Alumni Sevice Award, considered even more prestigious than the Ulys in that students are not elgible. I have gotten a few e-mails and calls about this but NOT what I expected. We all know each other because of this site; and don't get me wrong.. Harry has a great surranding cast that make it easier on him to get things done including Cerebrus, ArkStFan, and Scottie did a heck of a job stting up the premoier service. But it takes leadership and passion to make it survive and GROW over the last 7+ years. Think about the records of our school during that time in both money sports, think about the quality of this site as oopsed to the other sites of "big name" sites you have been to, and finally think about the ONE LINK holding the chain together for all this time. There are tons of guys on this board deserving on awards but the awards can have multiple winners and they should look at LONGEVITY through ADVERSITY and losing seasons. How many friends do you have because of Harry (this site), how much more fun is your tailgating because of him, how many time do you read this site a day, how much are you excited to jump on the board after a good or bad game????? All of these things are due to one person (with an outstanding surrounding cast). I will drop it now but if I am the only one nominating him again this year because you were too lazy to pick up the phone or send me an e-mail than shame on you. Damn, I am gonna have to eat crow! You can fill out a one page form! steve boedeker 214-942-1992 steve@TheNightVisionStore.com

One quick thing.. current staff members cannot win I believe or else I might want to nominate Hank for the award for one of the non-alumnus genre. * If it has not already been done, serious consideration should be looked at for GA Moore for a Lifetime Achievement Alumnus Award. Just a thought. At the end of this year he wll be the winninest coach in all of Texas Football History (high shool, college, or NFL) and was recently on the cover if the anual Dave Campbells for this achievement. The alumni and the fans should recongizie his greatness, too. He is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year but the guy will mos likely retire after this year and we can let him go out with a BANG! Let him know that we appreciate him representing the excellence that we strive for, etc... By the way, your voting should eventually be a private thing and the envelopes can stay sealeed if you like. This thread is to nearly introdude some of us to people we might not know about or think about (like GA Moore) and to re-inforce the ones that have been passed over before like Harry and the like. It is also to make sure that you are informed that nominations are now going on and that if we want a Greenbacker (or the Greenbacker's group as a whole - my hope!) to win an award, NOW is the time to be getting the application for nomination ready. The clock is ticking. The awards aren't until April so most would think that the nominations and voting would be around a month before that date but they are actually 5 months ahead of time. I suggest that we get them in as a uniform group only to show that we mean business and that we know how many of our own have been put up for nomination. If noboday gets anything than obviously the picking system will be shown as nothing more than a popularity contest and those that want to win eventually can start their political butt kissing up for the next year! Do not worry about nominating people that might not have the most popular athletic dept. ideas.. look at the fan's comitment regardless of their personal feelings and whether or not you agree with it (let's face it, we are all pretty frustrated at some times!) The Office for Advancement votes on this, not the athletic dept so do not worry about an old conversation or e-mail coming back to bite you in the butt. The two groups are separate and for this case this is pobably a good thing. One thing that will surely get you blacklisted from the dept and that is freely posting your opinions on this website. I have yet to get my letter answered, to give RV the benefiit of the doubt he may be out of town or working on this big secret stadium deal. And by all means, let the board know if YOU are interested, my hope is to see not one but possibly two of us get awards. There are only 5 awards but most are given to two or even three recipients each year so there are potentially 15 awards to win. This raises everyone's chances. Wouldn't it be great to see the Greenbackers Booster Group win the Ulys Spirit Award?! Althought there might only be one plaque or whatever, we could arrange for all active members to get their own for a small monetary gift to a friend. It is tough to buy a plaque for yourself but if something like this were to come to pass, I would be happy .. no, I would be THRILLED ... to buy Al Winder or Jeff Roeling a plaque celebrating his (our) groups' achievement and I would hope someone would volunteer to do the same for me So take this serious, people on the outside looking in blame us for not talking enough NT stuff on here and being too much like the Ticket by drooling over Kelly Clarkson (just one example... mmmmmmm Kelly Clarkson.. DOH!) on here. This is a valid discussion that could break down an old barrier that should not be there. We have the powe to make it hapen if we work together. There is strenght in numbers and power in diversity. Let's capitalize on this! So any suggestions? How do we start?
-
Well, each year we nominate several people for all of these awards and each year they give them out to the highest bidder. One exception being made.. Mean Rob somehow was able to break the mold for one year and win the Ulys Spirit Award (what most refer to as the Ulysses S. Grant Award as a joke.) Ithink Plummer won it back in the late 20's, too. Anyhow.. I got my formas in the mail today so I imagine most of you will be getting yours, too. I suggest we stick with the power in numbers theory. Don't go fill that thing out right away... We have until December to get them in. If you don't have one, than call 940-565-2000 and refer requests to the Office of Development and please ask them for it to be sent out immediately, maybe even faxed to your work.. if they catchwind that someorganized vote is going on they will suddenly be all all. We need to get one scanned and on this board in printable format, too. The annual awards to be awarded in March are as follows: Now most of these awards have been given out to two and even three recipients each year, there is not always just one winner. When Plummer one his Ulys, he shared the title with George Dunham (not bad company there Plummer..) What I suggest is a nomination system on this board for the different awards. and then if you agree with the nominations than you request the app (if haven't got it in the mail) and you make a copy of it for as many times as needed. Then nominate the top 5 for each category. Now there are several awards and several criterium for each award, if Cerecrus were to link this and maybe a printable online app. that would be great. Than we can ALL send our applications to a central location. To an honest person like Plummer or even better Rob (if he will do it) and have him hand deliver them all at once. This shows our unitarian structure. We will know the gomeangreen count going into it and we will know if we have simply been shafted for a donation or a judge that is about to be appointed chancellor! So first things first.. I would like to nominate Steven West "Screaming Eagle Fan" (Tarrant County NT Exes President) for the Outstanding Alumnus SERVICE Award. We all know the great job that he has done in establishing that chapter and improving communication between the Exes and the fans. (past winners include George Derr and Chuck Beatty as well as Ken Murphy.. I don't recognize any of the other 200 or so names o the list). Nominations in this category would also have to go to Jeff Roeling, Al Winder, Brad and Vcki Olson, and Denny Kalk. Some of these may have goteen an award in the past and if so I apologize. I now Rick Herold has so I did not include him along with some other names I saw on the list. But I want evryone's opinions. For the Ulys Spirit Award, I have to say that once again I nominate harry. I have done it I think four years in a row now.. but he hasn't come up a winner yet. This is the award that I hope to win someday and maybe if this is a "double award" type year than I have some sort of crazy outside chance; but Harry is by FAR heads and above me in terms of overall commitment to not just football, basketball, but also to the big picture of our program. This should be a no brainer really. But I want to hear evreryone's opinions and the don't need to be posters on this board. Of course FFRick should be nominated. That is also a no brainer in my opinion. Other fans to consider - LoRo (Cerebrus) and of course anytime we are taking names... Turner Gill. Now he never went to school here or played here or even is a fan, but he is always a good name to have in the hunt. Something to consider! There is also an honorary Alumnus Awatd.. no suggestion here. Maybe ip Eagle (just playing) Maybe Ski Slurarski of The Tomato - seriously. A Green Glory Award. Seems to be very similiar to Ulys Spirit. and a Distiguished Alumnus/Alumnae of which they have probably already decided on or has been bought... but if you have a suggestion on a an alumnus that has distingued himself in his career path while still being active in North Texas than this is the place for a nomination. If it is true that old Mattress Mac is converting his bowl dollars to UNT dollars than he might be the guy. But let's not pull a "Lupe" where we award her the award, name a damn music center after her, only to get STIFFED by her will. Now we have a music center called the Lupe and she got it for the bargain price of NADA (thanks to Steamin Willie for that story!) Final Deadline is Dec 2 but we need to make our deadline Nov 15, sometime before Thanksgiving so they have no excuses. And I emphasize, we send to an agreed upon... honest ...former award winner that will agree to hand deliver this mammoth stack already counted... and slam dunk one of these awards for one of our deserving Greenbacker boys (or girls if worthy). I am pulling for Harry this year for SOMETHING. We should nominate him for everything and hope for one! So is anyone else up for this group effort or am I just "wishing upon a star" for you guys to be orgaized for a few weeks. Cerebrus, can you do somethingto help organize this goofy proposition as far as making it web friendly? Good luck everyone.

That what's happens when you work on the computer 18 hours a day. You get really bored and get tons of forwards/suggestions. By the way if someone can make the Sherlyl Crow date happen I will galdly donate a grand to the Studium Fund. *Disclaimer, this will never happen so please do not get drunk and tell my wife that I am trying to hook up with some rock singer, If you could swinf Kelly Clarkson I would donate $2000. I love her.

Well many things have happened since the Crow announcement. i Have had lots of e0-mails and even a fan is writngan article about it that could get put in a paper or two. I HAVE to share some of these ideas sent to me that are just too funny to ignore. I BEG you, if you are religious or are offended by dry humor, just hit the back button now. Don't ruin it for everyone else. Also if you are female with a bad sense of humore you might not thing it is funny, either. I will do my best to re-write these so they are not too bad... my friends are truly sickos. The first suggestion was to look for loopholes in what I pledged to do if need be. I pledged to eat one ounce of crow, that I can have cooked if I choose. It cannot have any diseases and must be tested in advance which could cause problems for suggestion number 1. It has been suggested that I "eat" some of Sheryl Crow..I am not going to take it further than that but being that mywife is a doctor, befroe I put my mount down there I would need lots more tests done than the standard crow "bird" tests for sabies and such (but you never know). Now I might enjoy this the most, the divorce that were to preceed afterwards would not be worth it so Sheryl Crow will just have to settle for whatever roadie is available after the next show. The next suggestion is to involve the group the Black Crows. Some of you older members migh not know this but the Black Crowes are a major supporter of the leagalization of hemp and marijuana. The singer is married to Kate Hudson of "Almost Famous" (Goldie Hawj's son) It has been suggested that eating since they are married that she would also be cosidered Crow meat in a sense (simplyby laws and possesive ideals). So, again.. I would be happy to make the changes to the bet if all would agreee to both of these scenarios! If an of you can get Seryl Crow or Kate Hudson to go along... I am game. Make sure to read this quick as this is a family show and even though I have yet to see a poster on this board under 18 (with the exception of that ipEagle guy after the TCU Game), this will most liekly be deleted by 11 am. I don't take offense to it, just thought it was really funny, for those of you making it to work right about now. Laught it up, itis gong to ba a long day (but I will be in Shrevepart for business/pleasure!) - CrowEatingEagle

Are you just TRYING to get banned? You cannot cuss on the stupid board! Good lord, get a clue. I know you are young but surely you have common sense. I don't believe you on any of your claims. Bring those people to the next game and prove it to me, in turn I will buy you a beer. Finally, you completely contradicted yourself AGAIN by stating you would not be buying season tckets because you would be moving out of the state as soon as you were done with school due to your degree. You are trting to tell me that you can't get away from work 3-5 days a year out of 265 to come see a game and support your school of which you are this big fan? Useless excuse from yet another run of the mill fair weather fan. Since you still get free tickets, I will hope to see you at the next home game. Bring 3 extra people and in return I will provide you all four with free Food and Beer.

Smurfette, A)Let's start over. Greek was not your cup of tea. Obviously youdo not belive in charitable or social orgamizations and that is fine. B)Do not bash another UNT fan about SMU ever, we offered to play them in a parking lot once to show who was the better team and their superiority complex is still (decades after the deat penalty) is till thtough the roof. They refue to acknowledge our existence in football. They will paly ous in every single sport but football because the last time they played us at Fouts they lost. They are happy and content palying Cal State Norhtridge ( a IAA non schorlaship program) at home but will nnot play us. As for their academic programs, this is a sport's board.. I could care less what their MBA rank is in some superfial bought with alumni dollarsa ranking's system. We have passed the minm every facet of tatheltics escept facilities and aren't far behind. C) his is a UNT FAN FORUM. That means you cheer for UNT. Not bash it. I (and others) may bash Dickey's play calling but NEVER the school itself and we would never do that. So let's say "Do Over" Before you start taking pop shots at fans you don't know, realize who you are talking to. Our AD and players post on this board under anonymous handles. You can push the envelope but there is a fine line you cannot cross (trust me from past experience!) So do over. Start a fresh. Sit back and listen fo awhile, learn who the posters are and how they feel and then contribute slowly. Fter you have been around 6 years you can say whatever you want and get away with it but until then you are a lurker with a short leash that has managed to get banned two weeks into your existence. That has to be an all time record. And I don't see anyone takin up for you. As for your alliance to your own alma mater, put them first and stop having penis envy that you wish you were somewhere else. If you this bad of a student fan and do not wan to contrbute in a postive way now, then I dn't want you as just yet another apatheic alumni that is not proud of thier school. By the way, you mentioned that with your degree you would never come back for an NT game this not needing season tickets because as soon as you sre done you are out of here so why bother with even talking to us? We have fans all the way across the globe, one guy fighting for the country in Afgahanistan an HE had season tickets to support the school and then donates them back when if he can't make it back (which is almost never). These are the fans we need and want, not USER like you that use us fo your degree and are moved out befroe the ink is dry on the diploma. You still ahve time top transfer, and if you feel the way that you post I would suggest UTA or UTD. They have a different set of goals. We wan to be at the tope level of ALL assets of IA life, not just the select few easy ones that take no money to support of wich we iwll be lucky to get a dime out of youafter you have moved far away. So, how about this, I challenge you to bring 3 other peopl with you to the next home game. If you can do tha, I am sure there are three available tickets from season ticket holders on this board that would be wiling to donate them to you this time. Next time, you brin three moe on your dollar, at $8 a piece it is cheaper than a movie plus you get to eat and drink free of charge at the tailgating ahead of time thanks to the supporters on this board. There is whole nother world of life out there, open your mind and embrace it. Let me guess.... Music Major.
