Well apparently , Alabama officals think he has forgotten how to coach after his 10-2 season of last year. Maybe he would remember if he came here.

Texas was still a good team back then, they lost 4 games that year (Arkansas,Tech,Baylor,and A & M ) by a total of 11 points. From that point they have only had 2 losing seasons 89' ( 5-6) & 91 ( 5-6 ). My point was that there was a time , not that long ago , where we were on the same level of UT. My expections and I hope everyone else's , is that someday I think we should be the ones playing for a National Championsip.

Let's say Florida plays Ohio State and wins on a bad call or something ( ala Oregon vs. Oklahoma ) in a very poorly played game. Then Boise blows out OU ( game pending ) by 30. What happens in the poll? I know I probably have a better chance hitting the Lotto , but it would be interesting.

I think its VERY easy to say Ohio State is #1 in the country. Case closed. Michigan goes on the road and loses only by 3. In my mind Michigan is #2. If you were to rank Florida ahead of Michigan , then you would have to be saying that Florida could go on the road and either lose by <3 or you would have to think that the Gators could beat the Buckeyes. Michigan is the second best team in the country , but I think it will be the Gators who will play the Buckeyes in title game. Boise State IS a legitimate #2 ... They beat the hell out of Oregon State who beat USC who killed Arkansas who beat Auburn who beat Florida..... IM not saying Boise could beat Michigan or Florida , but if they played 10 times Id bet Boise could beat FL at least 3 times. Any good college football team can beat another on any given day. Id just love to see Boise get a shot. If BB was like football and only let the big boys play for the title every year then nobody would of knew who George Mason was last year. Question should of been who do you think will finish #2 in the Final BCS poll.

While Ill agree with u 100 % Emmit , I think the fact of the matter is this : We have put up with DD, RF and Co. for so long , Some only know how to Bitch and Moan lol. I think its only become natural for everyone on this board to be pissy about something , even if it is the holiday season !!! Just be patient . We will all hail the new coach and RV for a few months and things will be good again. Then after the OU game next year , back comes the Bitching and Moaning! In closing , How could one ever get tired of head ????

Very True , but I think we have actually had some great recruits over the past few years , but the coaching has NOT maximazed their talents.

A thought , If we DO NOT hire a head coach & his staff with any or good TEXAS ties , will this be the worst class to some in in years ? Even if the new coach is a good recruiter he will be well behind other coaches in the area and even behind the rival coaches in the SBC. I read where our assistants are currently on "hold" by the AD....how much longer can we afford to wait ? While I cant wait for a new coach ( crossing fingers for DODGE ) it would greatly concern me if someone with little or NO real strong ties to other TX coaches and/or players is brought in. With that in mind , Im hoping the wait for the naming of a coach is because someone is still in the State Playoffs !!!

He's had great credentials , so im sure he's been approached several times over the past few years by much bigger schools than us. If he really wanted to coach again he could coach at places much bigger and for more money than NT.

I doubt he gets any carries , but I bet he's on every special teams play. Go PC!

Good Memory. I seem to recall a very poor graduation rate under Blake. I may be wrong since it has been a few years , but I think that was a big problem. Even still Blake's 3 year record @ OU was 12-22. It's one thing to be able to get high rated recruits , but its another to actually make them play to there ability. If you go back and look at past recruits who were rated 5 star or whatever more times than not they do not pan out all that great.

And here I thought that NT was the only one with the terrible circumstances

From what I heard/read this was all the dealership's owner doing ( the timecards) I would assume that a kid would be looking up to someone rich and successful , like the owner of the dealership , and probably just wanted to make him happy. But what baffles me the most on Bomar is why he 1/ waited so long to go to a IAA school . I would of just sat out and transfered to a DI school. 2/ Why pick a school that already had a DI QB (P.Daughtery from Tech) I think he made 2 bad choices in a row
