  1. Could be the name of the 4 porta potties that would be at the bottom of the mountain!! Fry, Mean Joe, Booger & Abner If JQ had 4 years under TDs system, Id say that he would not only be on NT's Mount Rushmore , but in the College Football Hall of Fame.
  2. Just bored and doing a little research. Did you know we own the Gators??? They have NEVER beat us !!!! We beat them in the only head to head meeting back in 1947, 20-12 in Gainesville. They have been running from us ever since How we have fared all-time versus some current powerhouses : vs Boise State 3-3 vs. Louisville 10-7 vs. Tennessee 1-0 vs. Texas Tech 4-4 vs. UTEP 13-5-3
  3. While no matter what anyone ever does or will do , there is no way to make everyone happy. I like what you got for the most part , but I would be willing to bet not 1 person from TCU would agree. They have every reason to be in a more "powerful" conference than Baylor. Overall , good alignment.
  4. Who is the best potential NFL draft pick on current roster , including incoming freshman to be drafted ? I would say JMO if it weren't for a below average line and injuries over the past 2 seasons. Add in the fact that Cam Mo will steal some of the spotlight this year. So barring a 2000+ yd season , JMO will be a FA training camp invitee somewhere. My vote goes to Eddrick Gilmore he has the size (6'5) and potential to grow. Second vote would go to WR Sam Roberson , even tho Ive never seen him play he has the size & speed the the scouts look for. Third vote would go to Cam Mo , based solely on some websites as a 4* JC recruit , that has to count for something
  5. With our sweep of WKU , I say they can become our Biggest Basketball rival , w/ MTSU our biggest Football rival.
  6. Would be an even better rivalry if they didn't run from us and actually wanted to schedule us this year. I personally think it's pathetic that we have 4 DI schools that are all in a different conference, within a 30/40 mile radius ( SMU,TCU,UTA) and all don't play each other every year. Wouldn't it be great if each year there were a 4 team tournament each holiday season to crown the "Metroplex Champion" ??

  8. While I hate to sound negative , I don't think PCs chances are any better this year than they were last year. Barring injury the Phins are set w/ Ronnie Brown. Booker will be given every chance to be the #2 solid backup and Jesse Chatman is now in the mix and is a stud. The phins also might still wind up signing former 49er Maurice Hicks. I wish the best for PC , but right now I'm not expecting anymore than a 3rd string gig. Which is not bad considering that almost every NFL team is going to the 2 RB tandems and the 3rd stringer is one injury away. Good news for PC is that Miami only brought in 1 FA RB in the off season , Ray Perkins from SE Louisiana 05'.
  9. Im all in favor of a "Texarkana Conference" Let's re do all of college football conferences. This is just for fun , I know that this would NEVER happen , just a nice thought Texarkana North: UNT TCU SMU TEXAS TECH ARKANSAS ARKANSAS ST. Texarkana South: BAYLOR TEXAS TEXAS A&M RICE HOUSTON UTEP
  10. Forget your team "needs " , just who would you want more on your squad ??
  11. NBA early entrants have until Monday June 18th to withdrawl their name from draft consideration. With a very deep draft this year I can't see Wells keeping his name in the hat.
  12. Pistons over the Jazz in 5
  13. NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans junior Bo McCalebb has declared for the NBA draft but will not hire an agent, the school announced on Friday. McCalebb, the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and an honorable mention AP All-America pick, ranked sixth in the nation in scoring with 25 points per game. The New Orleans native is also the Privateers' leading scorer and now ranks fifth in the Sun Belt with 1,937 career points. He helped guide the Privateers to a 14-17 record (9-9 in the SBC) and was the only player in the Sun Belt to rank in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding (6.8) and assists (3.3). He also led the league with two steals per game. "We are very supportive of Bo's decision," coach Buzz Williams said in a statement. "I don't know of any Division I basketball player who doesn't dream of playing at the highest level. He will get a chance to see where he stands among the best in the game." By not hiring an agent, McCalebb can withdraw from the draft and return to his collegiate career. The deadline for players to do so is June 18. The draft is scheduled for June 28. 14. Kevin Kolb , Houston in 2003. If Vizza did start and had 1/2 of Kolb's stats that he had in 2003 then Id be happy. Vizza, as a true freshman, could have success versus the Sunbelt ,but there is no way a true freshman QB could have success right off the bat versus the likes of OU and Arkansas with TD's system still in the works.
  15. Is it possible JJ was more concerned about his extension than his recruiting duties ?? I hope not. My only explanation for the lack of recruiting , especially big bodies , is that he may have a few players up his sleeve that could transfer here to play in 08-09 ?? I don't know , but I'm hoping.
  16. NO WAY the HEAT top the JAZZ in the 1st round , NO WAY... Ill bet ya a nickel!!!
  17. JJ to make 1st pitch with Maurice Holman to do the catching
  18. According to rivals,Jordan Smith has commited to Richmond IGNORE , I was looking at the kid who was listed after him on the list. He has yet to commit.
  19. Who is most likely to pull off the upset in the 1st round ??? I don't really see the Bulls/Heat ,Jazz/Rockets or the Nets/Raptors matchups as having a true "favorite" .
  20. SCRIMMAGE NOTES North Texas defense dominated the second scrimmage of spring practice on Monday, holding its counterparts on offense without a touchdown in a workout that lasted just over 100 plays. Head coach Todd Dodge said he was particularly pleased with the Mean Green's defensive line, including defensive end Eddrick Gilmore. The sophomore is continuing to make a push to start opposite Jeremiah Chapman, who will likely be a preseason All-Sun Belt Conference pick. Gilmore spent much of the afternoon in UNT's backfield. Daniel Meager continued to work with the first-team offense. Dodge said after the workout that Meager has been the most consistent of the Mean Green's quarterbacks, the same stance he took after the first scrimmage of the spring. Nathan Tune spent some time playing with the second team and continues to make a push for the second spot on the depth chart. What was particularly disheartening for UNT's offense was that it failed to score a touchdown while the Mean Green's defense was without arguably the best newcomer of the spring, cornerback Latif Nurudeen. The Baylor transfer has a strained pectoral muscle and will not play in the Mean Green's spring game on Sunday. Jamario Thomas was one of the bright spots for the Mean Green offensively. The former national rushing champion ripped off two runs of more than 20 yards in the span of two plays in the scrimmage. Evan Fentriss, a sophomore transfer from Rice, continued to be impressive. The former Southlake Carroll standout worked with the second team, but will sit out next season as a transfer. UNT also announced the format for Sunday's spring game. The offense and defense will face off instead of the team dividing into two squads. The offense will score points for touchdowns, long plays and series with three straight first downs. The defense will score for turnovers, sacks, defensive touchdowns and three-and-outs. For more on Monday's scrimmage, see tomorrow's edition of the Denton Record-Chronicle.
  21. All OOC games are going to be good this year , but I gotta go with the Ponies. I didn't feel the need to add WKU , I don't think they would get any votes
  22. Short list , but all great icons.
  23. Good choice. I created this poll yet I cant come up with a vote. Haskins,Knight, and Buck O'Neil are my top 3.
  24. I know im leaving some very good coaches off this list , but this is my top 20.
  25. I think it's because he was a walk on @ Baylor and not a scholarship player
