Former pledge sisters at the University of North Texas turned against members of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority in the early morning hours Friday because they said they were dismissed from the group, according to a police report. Two women told police that three former pledge sisters were constantly harassing them in public for their dismissal from the sorority after a wrongdoing surfaced that cost the group $1,000 in fines. But the verbal harassment turned physical Friday at 12:40 a.m. outside a bowling alley and bar in the 1200 block of East University Drive. The three former pledge sisters started pushing and shoving the other two women, until one of the former pledge sisters punched one female in the left cheek, according to the report. The fight was broken up by security and by the three suspects left before police arrived. There were no abrasions on the female’s left cheek, but an ice pack may have stopped the swelling, according to the report.
