If he didn't break any of my records for that tourny I'd be concerned

In 2008, 74.... 74 teams out of 119 were BOWL eligible. Thats about 62 % of all DI schools. Would it really be too much to ask that we are at least bowl eligible by year 3 ??? If not , just how low do we set the standard here at UNT. http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=495327 It's almost hard to do in college football these days -- not make it to a bowl. From Shreveport to Boise, there's a place for almost everyone. Of the 119 teams eligible in the top division, 68 are going to a game somewhere, somehow. So that leaves 51 teams back on campus, home for the holidays. Tennessee vs. Temple in the No-Go Bowl? Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan in the Missed-Out Classic? "It's definitely odd," Tennessee wide receiver Josh Briscoe said recently. Michigan made it to 33 straight bowls before this year's collapse. Auburn was a regular until this season's slide. Washington and Washington State never had a chance. Neither did Mare Island -- the Naval shipyard's team from near San Francisco won the 1918 Rose Bowl, and stopped playing football long ago. The festivities begin Dec. 20 with four games, including a pair of newcomers: Navy and Wake Forest meet in the EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium in Washington, then South Florida and Memphis play in the St. Petersburg Bowl at Tropicana Field. Even with so many spots, four bowl-eligible teams were left out. Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Louisiana-Lafayette and San Jose State all went 6-6 and got passed over. Bring back the Bacardi Bowl and the Raisin Bowl, and there would be a place for them, too. And for those woebegone teams in need of one more chance, consider Bowling Green's postseason history. In 1961, the school ended in a most appropriate place: the Mercy Bowl, which they lost. The unlucky 51, in alphabetical order: Akron, Arizona State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Army, Auburn, Baylor, Bowling Green, Colorado, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisville, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, Ohio, Purdue, SMU, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Toledo, Tulane, UAB, UCF, UCLA, UNLV, UTEP, Utah State, Virginia, Washington, Washington State and Wyoming.

Wait A Minute, Guys, Let's Make My Wife The New

Your wife invented The Spread ? You left yourself " Wide Open " on that one -
Thanks for the post it brought back many memories, I've played in a few of those Burkburnett Bulldog Classics. ESPN.COM's take on Holmen : This combination forward possesses a 40 inch vertical jump. He is a shot blocker with excellent timing. He can knock the three with time and space and can get all the way to the rim on a regular basis. Holmen can score in the post with a jump hook and is a capable rebounder on both ends. Holman must work on providing a consistent effort every second he is on the floor to take his game to the next level.

You think RV can start forcing Hedlund,Jones & now Stephens to pull double duty by coaching both soccer/basketball and football? I mean seriously what would it hurt ??? -
Best Football Playoff Proposal I've Seen Written Down

How bout this : -
Ditto , doesn't really seem like a commit if he will jump ship as soon as another offer is available. It's like telling the ugliest girl in school during the school year , "Yeah i'll go to the prom with you.... unless someone else comes available" I say give it to Warren if he wants/can come at semester break. I can almost see it now : Atkinson gets a late offer and bails while Warren transfers at the break which will lead us empty handed.

Appalachian State
NT03 replied to UNTflyer's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
How in the world could Richmond do that with a 1st year coach of a team that only had 11 seniors and 51 freshman or sophmores ( out of just 85 players!) -
Because we have so much football to talk about these days here at UNT

Who will be the next Auburn coach? It's anyone's guess at this point. A source told me Monday that Buffalo's Turner Gill, Ball State's Brady Hoke, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher already have been contacted - or will be. TCU's Gary Patterson would be a good fit. He was pursued by Washington, but rebuffed the Huskies' overtures. In recent years, he was offered the Minnesota job and was courted by Arkansas and Kansas State. Patterson told me over the weekend he has not been contacted by Auburn. Stay tuned. Don't be shocked if USF's Jim Leavitt emerges. He has done a masterful job building a USF program from scratch. And a few years ago, he reportedly was offered the Alabama job. Then there's Wake Forest's Jim Grobe, who has been a target at places such as Nebraska and Arkansas in recent years. And I am told not to close the book on Ole Miss' Houston Nutt, even though he received a recent extension. A wild card: Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson. No doubt replacing Tommy Tuberville will be difficult. He did a terrific job in 10 seasons on the Plains before resigning. And it was his decision to resign. So forget the notion that Auburn A.D. Jay Jacobs wasn't being forthcoming in his statement. Word is Tuberville was told to devise a plan to address several areas on the team. He apparently refused to do so, or came up with a plan that didn't meet with the administration's approval. Therefore, he resigned. Expect quick decision at Syracuse The Syracuse search labors on, but a decision is expected soon. It is believed East Carolina coach Skip Holtz is a front-runner, but Holtz twice responded to texts from Rivals.com on Sunday, saying he had not met with any schools before to the Pirates' C-USA title matchup at Tulsa. But it is believed Holtz will meet with Syracuse officials while in New York early this week for functions involving his father's induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. There were reports that Syracuse would talk to New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, but Gilbride removed his name from consideration Monday. Buffalo's Turner Gill also is thought to be a target, and we confirmed that Syracuse has spoken with Harvard coach Tim Murphy. Leach appears headed back to Lubbock Despite all the jockeying and posturing, it looks certain Mike Leach will remain at Texas Tech. Leach reportedly interviewed at Washington, and Tennessee sniffed around a bit. He is not a serious contender at Auburn. The bottom line: Leach almost certainly will return to Lubbock, where he has been offered a five-year contract for $12.1 million. MAC schools fishing from same pool Bowling Green and Miami University are looking at a lot of the same candidates. Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen may be the top target at Bowling Green, where he once was an assistant under Urban Meyer. There could be lots of interest in Nebraska offensive coordinator Shawn Watson at both schools. And don't be shocked if Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell is a prime contender at Miami, his alma mater. Other names expected to be in the mix for both posts: Arizona defensive coordinator Mark Stoops, Iowa secondary coach Phil Parker, Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack, former Kansas State coach Ron Prince, California offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, former Tennessee offensive coordinator Dave Clawson, Alabama quarterbacks coach Curt Cignetti and LSU offensive line coach Greg Studwara. New Mexico State may turn to minority Early word is New Mexico State will look hard to hire a minority. Cross-state rival New Mexico did just that in hiring Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson may be an early leader. Another name to watch: Nebraska secondary coach Marvin Sanders. Mississippi State looking for offense-minded guy? Don't be surprised if the Mississippi State search focuses on a coach with an offensive background. A source close to Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley says he isn't interested. Keep an eye on New York Jets wide receivers coach Noel Mazzone (a former Auburn and Ole Miss offensive coordinator), Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. It also has been reported that Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen is a target and has spoken with school officials. A guy who could emerge is Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele. Aztecs focusing on former coaches San Diego State will interview 10-12 candidates, and expect the focus to be on former head coaches. It is believed former Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione is a prime candidate. Others who could be on the radar are former Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green, UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker, former Minnesota coach Glen Mason and former Colorado coach Gary Barnett. Eastern Michigan may turn to ex-Michigan assistant The early names at Eastern Michigan are New Orleans Saints tight end coach Terry Malone, who also could be in the running at Bowling Green. Other possible candidates are Iowa receivers coach Erik Campbell and Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English. Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr is advising EMU athletic director Derrick Gregg, so the new Eagles coach could have Wolverines ties. Campbell, English and Malone are former Carr assistants. Expect a decision soon. Tom Dienhart is a national senior writer for Rivals.com. He can be reached at dienhart@yahoo-inc.com.

At the very least, Mr. Jones believes he's in a position to question Marion Barber's toughness. Barber didn't play in Pittsburgh yesterday with calf and pinkie toe injuries, and Jones roundaboutly called him a sissy yesterday. From Star-Telegram.com: Jones believed Barber’s dislocated right pinkie toe was an injury that he could have played with against Pittsburgh. Before the team boarded for its flight to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jones was stunned Barber did not make the trip. After not practicing all week and with an additional sore calf, Barber felt he couldn’t play. Jones said Barber could have taped and braced the toe well enough to allow him to play. "He can play with that injured toe," Jones said. "He can play with the soreness and a combination of those things. I see nothing that led us to believe he couldn’t." That's a fantastic way to alienate a running back. I'd love to be there when Jones calls Barber into his office and says, "Awww, does him him a wittle pinkie toe boo-boo?" I think it's usually best to tread lightly where another man's injury is concerned, especially for a guy like Barber, whose toughness, to my knowledge, has never been up for debate before. I'm sure Mr. Jones is frustrated after the loss, but unless he's dealt with the exact same injuries and performed the exact same tasks he's asking someone else to perform, it's probably not wise to call that guy a wuss. I wouldn't count on that Barber/Cowboys relationship lasting a whole lot longer. If Jones thinks Barber's a sissy, and is willing to publicly insult him about it, I can't see him making Barber a cornerstone of the franchise, either. And I can't see Barber wanting to play for a guy who thinks he's Charmin-soft.

Might have been more than 93 if they were in a real conference like the MWC

How could u see them ? -
We are not really recruiting against Baylor since we won't give an offer to the kids that might actually want to come here , whereas Baylor does. Last year Ben Parks wanted to come to UNT , but only had an offer from Wyoming and gave a verbal to them after holding out for one closer to home. Then Baylor came a calling and he switched where he was the Bears starting PK this year as a true freshman. Vito did a story on him and he indeed was interested in UNT. Earlier this year Mr Mosley said that OL Stephen Huber was interested in joining his former HS classmate to Denton. From what I understand , we never offered and missed out.

Only if Penn State beats USC by a last second field goal. I'd be pissed if i were a Longhorn fan , I see where Mack Brown voted Florida #1. What kind of message does that send to his team and the fans ? -

What if Boise beats TCU by more than OU did ?? They would have just as much gripe as Utah ... assuming OU beats Florida All they did is go 5-0 vs Bowl Bound Teams this year -
