How is it easier , because of fewer players ? I really don't think DFW has that deep of pool of BB talent. This is a football 1st , 2nd & 3rd state. I have no idea on the numbers , but i would like to see the number of DFW BB recruits to DI schools over the past several years. The big names of course , Williams , Bosh , etc.... but I would bet that DFW is not the 1st choice of major recruiters like football is. More and more any decent player winds up at these preps schools which reek of nothing but NCAA violations everywhere , which makes it even more difficult for smaller schools.

Please define creampuff ? We were ranked 162 this past season. Only 2 others ( EMU & WKu ) were DI teams that were ranked lower. That means that even if we had 4 FCS teams on our schedule there's a good chance that we would be an underdog in some of those games. We make more money for 1 bodybag game ( BaMa , UT , UGA , etc ) than we would with any bowl game that our conference has a tie into.

If Basketball was treated like Football we would be a bowl team every year and everyone would be happy . Problem is there are 347 DI BB basketball programs in the country and just 104 teams (29%) make the postseason whereas in football 68 of the 120 teams ( 56%) make the postseason.

How about Jack Lengyel who took over Marshall U who didn't even have a team after the tragic plane crash killed almost everyone involved in the football program in 1970 His 1st 3 years without his players , without any returning starters , without any upperclassman , without nothing he managed to go 8 - 23 in his 1st 3 seasons.

Doesn't surprise me he hooked with Rudy again , the 2 are pretty close. As a Cub fan I'm glad to have him. I don't follow the Rangers all that much , so someone please answer this for me: Were the Rangers even trying to re sign this guy or were they already looking towards another direction & who takes his place ? I can't imagine the TX giving him 3 years , but Jim Henry is willing to give anyone any kind of $ for any length of time.
