I fully expect our new head coach to have us in a bowl game by his 2nd year and competing for the conference title by his 3rd. Anything less and I'll be disappointed. Our conference has been an embarrassment this year , we are the only league to have anyone qualify for a bowl yet .0/9 and only what 2 OOC wins all year ?? If it's McCarney,Fran , Chico whoever .. they better win and win fast or that new stadium will be empty quick !!

If he wasn't good enough for UNLV or SDSU then I don't see why he should be good enough here

I hate to say this , but we will have more than just 4 losses at the end of the season. There will be games where the outside shot just isn't falling , we get in foul trouble or heaven forbid we get another injury We don't have the depth to over look anyone at this point. Road games with Sam Houston State & Texas Southern ( who we matched up terrible with last season) with both be very tough and you know that UTA is never easy. While in conference we will get the very best from everyone and having road games @ Middle,wKu & denver will all be a knock down drag out. With the way the conference is playing this willl be a 1 bid league yet again. Our best bet is to just win the conference tourney and not even worry about it. Worst case , get to 20+ wins , hope Texas Tech has a good season , beat LSU and win the conference regular season title to at least ensure the NIT bid. Like Tasty said , it's way to early and we should just talk about this again in a month

Rice is a good team. Their only 2 losses this year have been on the road to teams who will probably make the post season. I'd mark them down to finish around .500 , if not a little better.

I think 10 points is a bit high , I believe last year we only won by 1 point & Rice played Santa Clara down to the wire last week . I expect a game that will go down to the last few minutes with the Mean Green coming out on top. Got a returning fan from the Tech game coming back for more with me !

A pretty good group if you ask me : Drake,Robertson,Gill,Santiago,Ross among several others Would you put any of these guys in the UNT Hall of Fame ? I'd have to put Robertson in for sure. I'm a sucker for OL so I'd want to put all 3 in there , but if I had to choose just 1 I'd go w/ Drake

I don't think building a conference where teams leave for better opportunities would be considering killing it. When SMU,Rice,Tulane,TCU,Tulsa all bolted for C -USA he brought in powers Boise & Nevada. If teams left the Belt right now this conference would die , Waters couldn't save it. Not saying that Benson has done a wonferful job , but at least he's done something. WAC has been head and shoulders above the Belt 5 years down the line if we are in better shape than the WAC I guess I'll just take my lumps.

It just seems that every time this conference takes a step forward it shoots itself in the foot and takes 2 steps back

a win over Buffalo that year would not have qualified them for a BCS bid. If my memory is correct they weren't even in the top 12 before that game. That was a very overrated team , a team that even we beat the next year. They got blown out by Tulsa in the bowl game If we do nothing then eventually the WAC will pass us by again. Their track record is better than ours , i.e Benson > Waters. If we do nothing the WAC will somehow surive , we need to do our part and just kill that conference or join it
