So can we count on you to have a kick ass tailgate ?

I know it's several months away , but if you are like me you have to plan well in advance. Plus we really don't have much to talk about. Home part may suck , but we have some very doable road games. LSU : No thanks. Would be a great party , but results won't be pretty K State : Borderline. Might depend on how we look vs LSU & how K State looks vs Miami. We have a great opportunity here being sandwiched in between them playing Miami & OU FAU : too far for me , but it would be a great trip to make Houston : IN MTSU : Not ruling it out. May be coin flip for me b/w this game and K State ULM : IN depending on BB. Unless there is a more desirable game going on I'll probably make the short drive. Hopefully we will be sitting at 5 or 6 wins at this point and bring a good crowd WKU : Very doubtful. Hopefully I hold off on this game so I can plan on going to a bowl

Hot Springs was cool for a few years , but now it's time to move on. Not a lot of parking downtown and there is not smoking ban. So if you are like me and get sick with smoke fumes it's not exactly ideal. I don't mind people who smoke at all , several friends that do. I just don't like walking down the street trying to go shopping with my 3 yr old in tote and every few steps someone is blowing smoke our way. After 3 trips you just run out of things to do in a small down. Also a big F U to Rod and his pizza place ! I love the short drive and I love the fact our students can make it. It will suck to have to fly somewhere , because I know that will probably kill off more than half of our fans that make the drive to HS. 1 more year is fine , but then it's on to bigger and better things.

Cooley : Just a few months ago you said Clarke shouldn't be a ship player and now you have him starting ? I wasn't a fan of Walton before , but I am now. He struggled at JUCO because he had to run the point and was the only real scorer they had on the team. He had to shoot too many shots that he probably wouldn't normally take. This year he comes in and started off slow(which is typical of a JUCO) , but I thought he really carried this team at times during the season. Several times when we needed a big bucket he was the only one with the balls enough to take a shot. His defense isn't outstanding , but he does have a knack for making plays. I'll agree he does need to improve on his FT % I've only seen Clarke play once , so I'm no expert. But I see no way he starts over Walton. He's probably the better pure shooter , but not overall player at this point Both could be coming off the bench. Do we move Alzee back to the 2 or maybe slide Patton there and have Alzee come in and run both like DJ did for us. Either way , we have a lot of options Just my .02 Grand, Agree on a lot.I would maybe change a few minor things , but overall pretty good report card

I'm going to try to sum this all up for everyone & then we can all just drop this subject and move forward with the off season. This isn't something we need to discuss for the next few weeks. Was it immature? Yes Why was it immature ? Because he's only 19 and hasnt matured yet . Anyone here who claims to have been matured by 19 is lying Why hasn't he matured yet? Because his whole basketball career he's probably succeeded at anything he's tried to accomplish. Here is a kid who has had a limited number of games under his belt trying to carry an entire team on his back towards a journey to greatness. I think what we had here was someone who for the first time in his life felt like he had failed and you can't fault him for that Just as in life, in basketball we can't succeed until we first fail. This is a learning experience for all the players involved. This will make them even better for the future. As a scout , I would see it as a kid not mentally ready for the next level yet. I hope Tony and his advisors do as well. Once Tony gains 100% confidence and learns to handle his emotions better he will be destined for stardom. I love this kid. But we have to remember that he is still just that, a kid
