  1. This is possibly my biggest pet peeve about football today. I can't stand looking a Belichik, the Tuna or any other coaches wearing sweats to coach a football game. At least wear a polo or button up and have some pride in your appearance. It's a shame that the NFL has rules against wearing a suit. In no other major sport does the head coach look like he came of the practice field. Hockey = Suits Basketball = Suits Baseball = Team Uniform (gotta love that tradition) Football = Whatever has your team's logo on it As much a Jerry Jones is disliked, at least the man wears a suit to his games. Mark Cuban and all the new young billionaire owners in their jeans and untucked shirts are embarassing. If you force your players to wear suits to and from the game, you should force the owners too as well.
  2. As a student I was pissed when the football team took the field. I immediately knew it was DD pissing off RV and "mourning" his firing. It was imbarassing and childish. Not to mention we looked like a high school team in cheap jerseys. I don't have a problem with an occasional black jersey, but they need to be regulation with NT logos and names and green pants need to be worn with them. Good riddance DD. After talking to a friend on the team, he was obviously pissed that his last game as a senior was such a crap fest. The run out at halftime was lame as the team filed out slowly in a long line. Where's the pride in your team?
  3. Woody is the better QB. He may have his faults, but giving him some good off season coaching and confidence from his team, I think he'll be a fastastic QB.
  4. The only time FIU has a chance of getting on the front page of USA Today is for that stupid brawl. They shame our conference.
  5. I don't care if you've given a million dollars to NT. If you weren't at the game last night you let your school down. REAL fans sit through the tough times and still cheer on our brothers on that field. Was it an ugly game? Yes. Is it a little embarissing to be on ESPN with those numbers? Yes. Do changes need to be made. Hell Yes. But I stormed the field simply because I was proud of my team for winning the game. I was horse, dehydrated and tired, but that was one of the best moments I've had at North Texas. That game did wonders for our school in ways you can't fathom. Students don't care about the ugly game, we want the win and to have some fun, and last night we got it. Our D stopped them over and over and we cheered them on. FIU players were egging on the student section in OT and we stayed to scream right back. The students were cheering and standing through every OT. You can bad mouth all you want and tell students they're idiots for storming the field. But our student section was there jumping and screaming right beside the players on the field. Then we all stood togther singing our Alma Mater with the little voice we had left. That is being a fan. That is school spirit. That is loving your team through the good times and the bad. That was fun as hell. Where were you? I had plenty of reasons not to be at the game, but I have made a commitment to support my team at every home game and I bring all my buddys. I went to the game and gave my all. My team didn't disappoint at the end of the night. The tower is green and our fans cheered through one hell of a game. GO MEAN GREEN!
  6. Across from Clark Hall on Ave C. There are banners at the corners of it. Next Pep-Rally: November 3rd. Next WeeK: Pep-rally at the bonfire on Eagle Point.
  7. You're right. There were too many things happening to get a huge crowd. And the band sucked. But a lot of students came out and hung out for a while. We want more Alumni and people from the community to start showing up to these. The kinks are being worked out, and it will go through some growing pains, but even this week had hundreds of students at a mean green pep rally. It's a start! The next one isn't for another month, but you guys need to come out to the last two. Cheer on your team and get some free food. With a little time, FN@CP can be something huge that everybody comes to. No better time to start than now.
  8. Woody is a great QB. It was obvious to me that he had bad coaching and bad play calling last night. That's a coaching problem when a guy who has proved himself throws 2 interceptions and every throw is nowhere near a reciever. I'm am so sick of the toss option. Who does DD think we are? We're going to get 10 yards on a 3rd down with the flick to the outside 5 yards from the line of scrimmage? They ran that play all night. We need a coach with some balls who can call plays without second guessing his team. Fire Dickey.
  9. We need Alumni to come support it. The pep-rally will start around 9. Families and kids welcome. Wear your green!!!
