  1. So what happens if Missouri goes to the Big Ten? Can you imagine hard TCU would go after the opening in the Big 12?
  2. Can't go wrong with Brandon Kennedy or Patrick Cobbs, but I'll put in a vote for Kevin Galbreath. He was the MVP of unquestionably the high point of the decade and one of the high points of Mean Green football history, the 2002 New Oreleans bowl victory over Cincinnati.
  3. Air Force vs. Houston is his top game?
  4. Exactly. I cannot believe those who are not even mentioning the Nebraska DT Suh. He is far and away the most dominant player in the country this year.
  5. I think they have a different player for kickoffs. I don't think it was the same player who kicked the field goal. Alex Henery kicked the field goal. Kunalic did the kickoff out of bounds.
  6. Add some additional perspective to those numbers. What did other schools in our approximate situation average in attendance this year: Memphis (2-9) 21,118 (with a home opener attendance of 45,207) Arkansas State (4-8) 17,689 Akron (2-9) 17,382 Miami, Ohio (1-11) 16,682 (with a home opener attendance of 41,037) San Jose State (2-9) 15,343 FAU (4-7) 15,103 Western Kentucky (0-10) 14,103 Rice (2-10) 13,552 Ball State (1-10) 10,888 FIU (3-8) 10,228 (one home game to come this weekend) Eastern Michigan (0-11) 5,016 We even had better attendance than Louisiana-Monroe (6-6) at 13,766; and comparable attendance to Louisiana-Lafayette (6-6) 18,666 (with a home opener of 41,357) Considering what North Texas has put on the field in the last three years, our attendance suggests you cannot blame the fans.
  7. You don't want fans, you want lemmings. Follow blindly. Shell out your money for tickets and t-shirts and hats, but have no expectations. Take what you are given, and if what you are given stinks, tough. When what you are being SOLD is of poor quality, you should not ask for more, you should not demand better, you should simply continue to pay for it and keep your mouth shut. And THIS is a hostile environment? Denton, America is hostile? Really? Well, welcome to your final resting place, Todd Dodge. Don't even consider the possibility of a place like Austin or College Station, because if THIS is hostile, he couldn't possibly deal with those fans.
  8. I seem to recall something about doing the same thing in the same way and expecting a different outcome...
  9. Now THAT would intimidate opponents.
  10. It was an homage to Cormac McCarthy.
  11. Eight bus crashes.
  12. that good
  13. I find this whole thing disappointing. All you business people out there: if you had a department head who hired a new staff, and you then found that almost everyone that the department head had hired was not properly doing their job, wouldn't you at some point question the ability of the department head to run the department? Wouldn't you have to bring into question his understanding of department? Why would you simply replace all of his staff and leave the department head to direct them? Five wins in three years. Two wins in three years against teams not Western Kentucky. Thirty-one losses in three years. A complete overhaul of the staff Dodge selected. Is college football still just football?
  14. I just find it disappointing that we have now held responsible almost everyone Dodge has hired, but have not held responsible the man who hired them.
  15. True, but how excited is a recruit going to be to talk to a coach with a 5-31 record who is embarking on what amounts to an ultimatum season? If Dodge faces a win-or-else season next year, and considering his record in his first three years, isn't that going to be a weapon for other teams to use against UNT in recruiting? I just don't think an ultimatum season is a good idea.
  16. I don't know who I would have put in. But I think it is reasonable to not have gone into this game with the possibility that you might have to burn a valuable asset - a full year of a quarterback's eligibility - in the last two minutes of the last game of a 2-9 season. Considering that Riley has been injured a lot, the possibility of him not finishing any game is high. Therefore, you need to have a second and third quarterback in mind before the game, and that third option should not have been Thompson, at least not at this point in the season. If you have to go to him early in the season due to injuries, that's one thing. Then you have time to get him more playing time and make more use of him during the season. But burning a redshirt for the final two minutes of the season is, I believe, a huge mistake.
  17. Even at the expense of other people?
  18. Who is the coach and who is the player? Who is the adult in this instance? So if a kid wants to do something foolish, let them?
  19. He was fully aware that he was burning Thompson's redshirt and there was no regret in his voice whatsoever.
  20. The change didn't come quick enough.
  21. My rage, sir, will be cooled when Dodge is shown the door. Not a moment before. Thank you, Todd Dodge, for eliminating any sympapthy I had for you.
  22. WHO CARES WHAT THE KID WANTED! Dodge is supposed to be the adult. He is supposed to look out for the best interest of his players, and no way in hell did he look out for the best interest of Derek Thompson. You can apologize for Dodge all you want, but this is simply disgraceful.
  23. WHAT ABOUT THE ALTERNATIVE FOR DEREK THOMPSON? HE JUST LOST A YEAR OF ELIGIBILITY FOR NOTHING. FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to hear another f'ing word about Todd Dodge's ethics and morals. Not another word. Move over, Dickey, your exit has been topped.
  24. Classless or clueless. In either case, Tasty is right. He should have been fired during the week. I'd certainly fire him now. RIGHT NOW. I didn't think there was any reason to fire Dodge during the week because I didn't think Dodge would do something to damage the program or one of the kids. Just wait until after the last game. This is simply shocking.
  25. Injuries to your other QBs do not matter in this circumstance. You run someone else out there, someone who had QB experience in high school or you run the wildcat or you do something. You do not burn an entire season of a QB for the closing minutes of a 2-9 season.
