This past July, I went by the new tennis facility on the UNT campus. It's a nice high school facility at best. Someone really scaled it down. It is not a 2,000,000 dollar faciltiy. My son played at a state tennis meet outside Waco last May and the high school had a better facility than UNT's new one. The womans new softball field is vintage high school at best. The womans soccer field is also high school quality. This is the truth. Makes me sick. But it's the truth. I hate to use the word raped but I cannot help feel like that is exactly what is happening to our University.

I am so sick and tired of helplessly watching the school I love being abused year after year after year by incompetence, arrogance, questionable back room deals, shady politics and down right ignorance! There for years, have been RED flags everywhere warning us that we are headed the wrong way and yet nothing is done to right the ship. WHY? I promise you this, that 1,000,000 dollar donation given to complete a SCALED DOWN ATHLETIC CENTER, will forever haunt this great University. This University deserves better. The Administration, the BOR and the Athletic Department should be ashamed of what they are trying to sell the students, the alumni and the general public. I say to those in charge, prove that you are motivated to building a nationally respected athletic program. Convince us that you have the confidence, the fortitude and passion necessary to rise above mediocrity. Make the changes now. You want investors, then quit being double-minded!

We are a great University! When I read the North Texan and just recently the new magazine the Outcome, I am amazed at the quality of people who have walked the halls of UNT and their contrbutions to society. The time has come to take our University back from those who would squander our future and defame our Alma Mater. They can never love this school like you and I. Their blood will never be green. There is NO excuse for our University to wallow in the muck of mediocrity, whether that be academics or athletics, PERIOD! We all deserve better than having a bunch of good ol' boys who lack the desire, motivation, confidence and competence, representing our interest. All they do is cover each others rear while they cash their paychecks. No one knows what is better for the University of North Texas than you and I. We have limp wrist people leading this University and its time for change. Glory to the Green! Lets take back our UNIVERSITY!

UNT sits at the bottom of college athletics because thats where we choose to be. It really is that simple. It ain't rocket science.

Why does UNT wallow in the muck of mediocrity when it comes to athletics? To put it simply, because we choose to! This University lacks the most important feature needed to excell in athletics...MOTIVATION! There is a lack of commitment and confidence and every investor and quality recruit can smell the stench from one coast to the other. Horrendous mistakes, past and present. 1) Demoting the football program from 1A to 1AA. Lack of commitment. 2) Buying into the flaws of Gene Stalling's erroneous suggestions concerning Fout's Field and Sun Belt play. Stallings cost this University tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue, construction cost and conference affliation by advising UNT to delay building a new stadium. This tells the world that UNT lacks the confidence, commitment and motivation when it comes to really building a nationally respected athletic program. We have fooled no one. 3) The hiring of Lee Jackson. I have yet to personally read in print or hear with my own ears any strong commitment and endorsement from Mr. Jackson when it comes to UNT athletics. Since when do you hire someone for your top position with ties to your known adversary? Trojan Horse Theory. The day I see Lee Jackson or any other chancellor carrying the UNT flag while leading the team onto the field will be the day I know my University means business when it comes to athletics. 4) The hiring of Darrall Dickey. The only thing worse than the hiring of Dickey was not firing this guy and his OC years ago. Tell us all you want that you are committed to building a nationally respected program but remember your actions speak louder than your words. This screams out to the world that we are not committed to reaching a higher level. It shows we lack the confidence and motivation necessary to pull ourselves up out of the muck. Is it any wonder why our season ticket sales and attendance figures are what they are? Can you not see why other schools are succeeding in athletics while we, a 32,000 student university, play in the SBC? WE ARE WHERE WE ARE ON THE LADDER OF SUCCESS BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE WE CHOOSE TO BE!

All RF has to do is show up at Fouts....advantage SMU. He doesn't even have to try and assist SMU all he has to do is be himself.

It UNT wins against SMU Saturday night it will not be because of Darrell Dickey or RF. These two have proven they are incompetent day in and day out. No, if the University of North Texas wins this weekend it will be because our players denounce a coaching staff that belittles them, a coaching staff that treats them like children instead of young men in college. We win only when our players look each other in the eyes and decide to play for the team, the "fans" and the University and not the incompetent Dickey and his sidekick RF. I personally think the players need to escort Dickey to the bench, telling him to sit down and shut up. Then they need to escort RF out of Fouts Field. Then they can go out onto the field and play some FOOTBALL like they know they CAN! The only one that doesn't believe in the MEAN GREEN is Darrell Dickey!

Yes, did you catch that RV? It's your job to contact FSN, report the mistake and ask for an apology. It is not our job. We are not being paid. Let us know RV what FSN says about this disrepectful incident. Thank you.

Yes folks, it is true. After FOUR Sun Belt Titles and even after FSN had televised the UNT/Texas game earlier that day they still flashed Northern Texas on the screen and the announcer referred to us as Northern Texas. However, everyone knows who Montana State is. We have major problems in house!

RV, you nor anyone else will ever right this ship as long as Darrell Dickey and his OC are affliated with the UNT athletic program in any capacity. Sorry, just the truth. Thinking otherwise is just willful foolishness. It does not take 12 years (of which Darrell has hogged most) to build a strong, competitive and respectable program. We have wasted too many years going the wrong way. Change the course! Time is of the essence. You can dress up Fouts, change the uniforms. initiate tailgating and improve the rhetoric and even put lipstick on a pig, but at the end of the day it's still a pig. This is not rocket science, it's a people business RV, and you have the WRONG people in our business. RV, as a investor in this program, I am very interested in reviewing your short, mid and long range goals for this program. I want to see the mission statement and study your action plan. The University of North Texas deserves better and you know it.
