  1. Yeah, but remember we had to give back 540,000 dollars of the 1,000,000 donation from Mattress Mac.
  2. If that means waiting until SLC finishes it's season then so be it. Todd Dodge will have an immediate impact on UNT football that will be felt and heard around this nation for decades to come. Yes, we all know there is no guarantee that Dodge will come here but that is a chance we must take. Have a back up plan ready but go after Dodge. Heck, you might even want to say a prayer or two.
  3. If we are paying Dickey almost 540,000 thousand dollars exit fee because of a one-sided contract then did Mattress Mac really give us 1,000,000? So Mattress Mac threatens us by telling us to either name the practice fields for a losing coach or give 1,000,000 dollars to the music department? Money that we all know was already spent for a specific purpose, the AC. So, the naming rights for practice fields really cost less than 500,000 dollars. What a deal!!!
  4. Was Dodge letting SMU know, fire Bennett now or I might go to UNT? Was Dodge only using us to force SMU's hand?
  5. You can forget about Dodge coming to UNT if indeed Bennett was fired at SMU. No way in hell SMU allows Dodge to go to UNT. It would destroy SMU, thats why they fired Bennett, opening up the position for Dodge. SMU is playing for keeps. They despise UNT and know what Dodge would accomplish at the 33,500 student school up the road. If Dodge went to UNT, SMU would never again be able to compete against us and they know it!
  6. What a great day for UNT athletics. No more whinning and complaining from someone who should have never been coaching at UNT. I will always see this man as having been more harmful to this schools football program than he ever was beneficial. I believe strongly in my heart that he held this program back from where we could and should have been by now. I believe that he is living testiment to "The Peter Principal." I also believe Dickey is the epitome of mediocrity.
  7. Did Goldfield attend UNT?
  8. Good post. Great game. It was worth the drive from Dallas. As always the Super Pit is a great place to watch basketball.
  9. This is the University of North Texas. We are not a high school and our colors are GREEN AND WHITE! Not copper, not blue and not black. As far as there being an evil element in that picture, absolutely. I didn't say Dickey was evil.
  10. I agree with you. This is far more serious than many on this board understand. College kids don't dictate to the university what color they will wear for what game. They don't decide period. Our tradtion is green and white. If you don't like those colors than go find yourselves another school. The picture of Dickey with his arms crossed is one of defiance. There is almost an evil element in that picture. Look at it again. I bet we don't know a third of what has been going on behind the scenes during the years Mattress Man and Dickey had their vice like grip on our schools athletic program. The whole story needs to be told. I hope people who know the truth will have the courage to speak out.
  11. Don't forget your buddy Flanny. Ya'll don't work here anymore!
  12. I don't think it has sunk in yet to most people what a vindictive individual this man is. How he manipulated those kids into mocking the very institution that allows them to attend school for free is beyond me. The season ticket holders that I sat with were appalled. One man played football for UNT back in the fifties and drives in from Bowie Texas. I have looked at that picture of Dickey standing with his arms crossed, dressed in black in front of the tunnel and to me personally it is a scary picture. I pray that the University of North Texas takes actions against this insolent behavior by both the players and Dickey. No way should this kind of behavior be exonerated by allowing this man on the sideline in Monroe this Saturday. And please, don't remove my post this time. Nothing I have said is mean or derogatory. What Darrell Dickey did to everyone this Saturday night, who loves and has supported this school and team for years and the institution that pays his bills is unforgiving and should be delt with in a quick and authoritative manner.
  13. I don't remember Bazaldua missing many 40 to 50 yard field goals.
  14. Dickey taunted the fans and mocked the University last night. But ultimately he made a fool of himself not us. Thank God Dickey is no more. I felt totally detached from my school last night and would have left the minute I saw the horrendous all black colors if it wasn't for my wife. Our colors are GREEN and WHITE and no kid or coach has a right to change those colors for any reason. If you want to wear different colors than pack your bags and go to another school!
  15. At least as a coach of the our beloved MEAN GREEN!!! I was beginning to believe I would never see this day. I will remember Dickey only as a complainer, excuse maker and slacker. One who slapped his employer and the fans on a regular basis. Dickey fooled a lot of people. Not me. Oh man, no more Flannigan! Yes, a great day for our school. Say goodbye Darrell. Say goodbye Flanny. How this charade was able to last this long is a puzzle that may never be solved. Dickey was bad for UNT and I will not apologize for making that statement! The dark days are gone.
  16. Hold on here. Todd Dodge already has college coaching experience, at UNT for that matter. He knows the college game more than many including Ramon Flanigan and Darrell Dickey. Dodge knows the speed of D1A football. His teams also play against some of the best talent in Texas every Friday night and he beats them all the time. This is the talent we want and need so badly at UNT. This is the talent that kicks our butts in OOC every year. This is the talent that Dodge would bring to UNT! I also don't think that Dodge would be concerned with the national image of the SBC because he would go after and attack the teams on our OOC schedule and WIN thus elevating UNT, the SBC and himself in stature and prestige. He needs UNT just as much as UNT needs him. The move from Southlake is an easy move. He can work out of an apartment or lease a home until his son graduates. He will still be able to attend many of his sons games at Southlake and keep ties with all the friends he has made there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for UNT and for Dodge. It may never come around again.
  17. ASOLUTELY! RV works for UNT not USM! I appreciate that RV would take time to communicate with the fans about one of the most important decisions facing UNT. If you at USM don't like that than too bad.
  18. Although I prefer Dodge, I wouldn't have any problem at all if we hired Don Carthel.
  19. What the hell is going on here?
  20. Could be late news that RV has already cleared up. Sorry if I have caused a scare. Did not intend to do that.
  21. Article in today's DMN's says North Texas officials have asked for permission to speak with USM associate head coach Randy Butler about UNT's opening for coach.
  22. This really concerns me.
  23. Yeah, 360 degrees. Blown out by Tech and OSU.
