Arkstfan Opines On Future Conference Shifts
Eagle Man replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
There is another option. The schools in the Sun Belt could quit looking for a way out, continue building the conference to a level of respect so that other schools(maybe even some from CUSA) begin looking for a way in? Regardless we really need to be proactive. Everything changes but the word of God. The BCS will change. Go Mean Green!!! -
It looked like Watson, when the game was all but over with 1.9 seconds left, went to half court and bowed to the Western Kentucky fans. I could be wrong. Anyone else see this?
-
You have my sympathy and prayers. I was there 20 years ago. Keep the faith knowing that the pain will go away but the memories will last forever.

Anyone know what a Sooner is? They are cheaters. These are the people who snuck out and claimed land before the designated start during the OK. land rush. Now what kind of idiot or idiots, I ask, names your schools mascot after a group of deceitful, low life, selfish, inconsiderate classless jerks? The answer....drumroll please, The university of oklahomo.

Is Darrell Dickey being shamed or what!!! Dickey's lack of effort and his incompetence is being exposed and rightly so! If I were Dickey I would want to hide under a rock somewhere.

Thanks for the info! -
I'am happy. Are you more saved today than yesterday?
-
I'll answer my own question. Yes, all these guys had heart when they played for UNT. But many of them also possessed other qualities that helped them become successful business men or steller NFL players proving that you can do anything in life if you put your mind to it.
-
Did Cobbs have heart? Case? Lockhart? Green? Bernard Jackson? Wilburn? Galbreath? Kennedy? Shanklin? Ramsey? Renfro? ??????????????????

Interview Dd, They (nt) Tried To Kill Me, When That

That was the best $500,000 plus dollars we have ever spent! So long Dickey! You don't work here anymore. -
Dr. Pohl played a major role in the creation of The Mean Green Village. Remember the video of Dr. Pohl and others with their shovels as they broke ground for the new Athletic Center....Dr. Pohl said "we aren't going back". We will be indebted to him forever. I for one am so glad he is still at UNT!
-
Dr. Pohl is back. He teaches BCIS right here at our beloved UNT!
-
Dickey's mouth and his relentless public bashing of his employer as well as his constant complaining about difficult circumstances destroyed any chance UNT had of recruiting top area recruits. How could this clown sell a kid on a program he himself didn't believe in without being called a liar?
-
Dickey and Flannigan worked for SMU. DON'T BE FOOLED BY LAST YEARS WIN OVER SMU.
-
Yes, they are great people but both have had ample time to prove they can build winners on the basketball court. They haven't.
-
So proceed, Coach Dodge, we will follow and build a statue in your honor if you stay positive, operate on the high road, get us in the Top 25 & make us the next BCS Championship Bowl Cinderella school a la Boise State)! I think our goal should be to win a national title in football at the highest level. Everything changes but the word of God. The BCS will change. We need to be proactive!

Didn't Abner run the wrong way for a touchdown(safety) while playing in the old AFL? Maybe this is a good thing?
-
I agree. I really feel sorry for the fans of Utah State. If allowed Dickey may very well "run" their program right into the ground. I am sooooo glad he is no longer at UNT.

Again I thank you both for what you are doing for the University of North Texas. Dr. Bataille, I admit I was worried when we lost Dr. Pohl for after all he did believe that athletics was a window to the University. However, when I saw the picture of you working at Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans wearing a Sun Belt baseball cap and North Texas football sweatshirt...well, I knew you were already family. Todd Dodge, the men he has hired for his staff along with RV will soon open the window as wide as it can open. When people start peering in, I know you will be prepared. We are fortunate to have you at UNT. Rick, thank you for your courage and fortitude while facing very difficult circumstances. I would not have blamed you if you had decided to cut and run. I am so grateful that you refused to give up. Several years ago during the OU/UNT pep rally at Fouts Field, I was thanking Dr. Pohl for all he had done during his tenure to help UNT athletics. Dr Pohl pointed over to where you were standing and said, "There is the man you need to thank." I knew he was absolutely correct. We are really blessed to have you at UNT. Go Mean Green!!

The football players are to represent the university as athletes not administrators. The coaches are not paid to change university tradition but to win games on the field.
