Thanks for the report. No doubt those games are hard to take but I am hoping our team grows from them. This game and the Baylor game give me hope that maybe just maybe we can put something together this year (something together would be 10-15 wins).

What city is the final four in so I can go ahead and make my reservations ready to beat a D1 team

I can't tell you our record in '88, but I feel confident in saying we weren't a one loss team in '88 nor were we ranked #15. A #15 seed in the tournament ...........yeah, probably (losing to the #2 seed UNC). My take on the Trilli Era (we got green seats in the pit out of the deal): When I was in school and within 1 mile of The Pit, I went to every game. Even the 3-4 win season a few years ago I made it to. This was during the Trilli Era. His hiring went from great in the begining to what seems like almost ruining the program. His first recruiting class of Dexter Tennel, Chris Davis, and Deg Erskin was amazing. You could really see we were going places. And while he brought in talented recruiting classes at first, it seemed his X's and O's were severly lacking. We began to lose.......A LOT (once by 75 to Maryland). Things got worse when Deg Erskin transferred to UT (IF you watched much of the tourney you saw him have a decent amount of playing time for the 'whorns last year). Trillis recruiting classes diminished and started bringing in people with less and less talent. His last season was cursed. A player died (Marcellus Wright) , a player had a seizure on the court (Wes Allen), numerous injuries that lasted all season, and a guard off of the bench flipped his vehicle a couple of days after the season concluded. We sucked. JJ brought me some hope his first year getting his team to play above their usual level. Now............I don't know, I am pretty frustrated with our bball team.

That paladin sounds like he has killed a few metal slimes in his day to get some experience points. What are the Memphis fans gonna think of this thread!?!?

I saw on Rivals JJ had a 3-star guy with "low interest" from Louisiana. I think Quincy Williams was 2 stars. This could be a long season.

I can't see how suggesting a player change positions in "bashing" the player. Stebo never suggested that we do away with Branch alltogether, he suggested we utilize him in a different way.

My impression after seeing them............they look very dark on the court. Almost looks grey-black. Doesn't quite give off that silver effect. I am gonna give them a thumbs down after seeing them in action.

Well, its way better than that Stars alternate jersey crap. My first reaction is I like it. I might change my mind when I see it on the court, but I like it for now.

I do in that they almost got there and then lost. But really I don't feel anything for them. Boo Hoo they made it to the NLCS...........Rangers fans can't even think about winning their division right now much less winning a League Championship Series.

How about this for not putting stock into it: We were recieving votes for this in last years preseason and we weren't top anything. Thinking more about it I suppose were it not for a few select injuries we could have measured up to the votes we were getting.

I know some of you hate the term mid-major but nonetheless it is attached to us right now. Of course we aren't in this thing but a good amount of Sun Belt teams are: Mid-Major Top 25

"Mid-Day Madness" What do you guys think of having it at this time. I see the thinking behind having it then (already a large crowd on-hand). I just know with all of the goings-ons it can be tough to make it into the pit sometimes on the day of homecoming.

I agree with Cerebus, grade problems are just that..........grade problems. That doesn't mean that they are likely to be criminals too. I can't stand to see stuff like this happens and I really hope this is the last I hear about these type of incidents.

Thats pretty highly ranked! I really hope JJ can get some things put together this year. If Johnson and this guy are as advertised, along with a healthy Hopkins, we have a pretty good nucleus. We may not be too deep though. I wonder if there is any "midnight madness" type of thing planned? Anybody remember when Deg Erskin jumped over Vic Trilli to dunk. Great stuff.
