  1. I have played the game enough where I can now comment on things. First of all, I do think it is a little too much of a rehash of the same game. That doesn't make it not a great game though. I have never played the game online before but the game is taken to a new level when played online. It really adds a new level of fun. Their is the occasional cheater, but for the most part I have found my online games enjoyable (even though I have a losing record). I just got a good roster file today and that has me pretty excited. The call Cobbs "Cobb" and I have heard them say "Moore" for Kevin Moore. Home field advantage is pretty cool. Only once have I had the place shake at Fouts, and we were playing A$M then. Running is still too hard. Sliders are something I will toy with in time.
  2. Only losers support other schools if they have no connection to them. We should work that type of thing onto a shirt.
  3. To add a real touch of realism, Fouts Field should shake only when North Texas is on Offense
  4. Link We need some representation here and I figure you are the only one out that way.
  5. Thanks for those shots. I can't wait for the game.
  6. Are we Mean Green? Do we have a the fight song? Is the Video scoreboard at Fouts? Is the game better or worse than last years?
  7. How about a small entry fee. Most or all of the proceeds going to the tailgaiting fund.
  8. I can't really donate my XBox for the cause. I finally got a mod chip in it (and it is great!!), and it can slip off very easily with the slightest movement. I do think Erin might consider donating it for something like that though. Also, I never know if I can make it to things during school. Hopefully I will be able to make it to this, cause it is my favorite sports game of all time.
  9. I am and I have Xbox live if you ever want to get a game going.
  10. I already pre-ordered NCAA. Madden is good for a rental game to get an NFL fix, but NCAA seems like a much more complete game. I am just crossing my fingers for the fight song and to be refered to as the Mean Green.
  11. Man, it's too bad the Mavs may have to lose Josh Howard in all of this. I do think they should do all they can do to keep Dirk. Can you imagine the national buzz when Dallas goes to LA if this deal goes through.
  12. on Shaq: I think Shaq is the most dominant player of our time. (I didn't say best, I said dominant). 3 good players and a first rounder is asking quite a bit though. On Kobe: Anybody who has kept up has at one time or another seen stats on how the Lakers played when Shaq was out. I have seen two different sets of stats for this, this +/- points for when Shaq is on the floor or off the floor, and simply win/loss record for when Shaq was out with an injury. Sorry I don't have them, but both numbers made an obvious statment as to what happened when Kobe ran the show. Kobe is a great talent, but I am tired of this comparison to Jordan. Jordan never played with any other superstar. Don't mention Pippen, that was a case of Jordan making someone better. It appears Kobe will have mega talent all around him for the rest of his career. You can bet I will be cheering for his failure.
  13. Garnett......of course. It must be Garnett and Barkley then. Barkley in '93 and Garnett this season.
  14. Barkley and ????? (no clue) Malone??
  15. I can't explain how happy I was watching them fall. The NBA is still the WWE, but it's good to see a team like that topple. Ohh, and I love the lose/loose comment. That irks me more than anything else on this board. I have to hold back from telling one certain poster over and over how to spell "lose"
  16. Thanks for hitting us up with the knowledge.
  17. IronMan, your initial post is one of your best ever. The NBA is nothing more than WWE dressed up to look more legit. I can remember several years ago when Shaq was out of a game for an injury or something. He then "surprised" everyone by popping in the back door late in the second half to come save the day. The biggest "surprise" to me that day was the fact that cameras were waiting for him at the door. That is a page directly from wrestling. On the game 6 several years ago: If you are referring to the Sac Kings vs the Lakers when Bibby got elbowed by Kobe, was bleeding from the nose, and then got a fouled called on him (I think Phil Jackson punched has grandmother too), then ohh man you have mentioned my favorite NBA conspiracy story. The NBA believes parity is for losers. Baseball trys to do the same thing and I am sure it kills them when little small market teams make it to the finals. On the NHL and athleticism: Many ethnicities involved and yet very very few african american players. Such a large group of athletes that do not particiapte in the sport (on the whole) make me question the talent pool the NHL utilizes. (Lets not turn this into bball vs. hockey, nobody is gonna change their minds on the matter)
  18. I remember it. That thing was awful.
  19. Ok, this is just for me to vent. The Fox Sports Southwest commercial drives me up the wall. Anything with Rick Renner blows anyway, but combine it with him interviewing a very uncool Mark Cuban and you have something truly horrible. The question of "do you comb your hair with an egg beater?" is something only Renner would ask. But the 2nd grade reply of "only the one you lent me." is made worse by the fact that you can tell Cuban was really proud of his reply. The commercial must come on 15 times during each Ranger game. Just wanted to share my frustration.
  20. I am afraid the only hope I have of The Lakers finishing the season is the East . Defense means a whole whole lot. But even the Pistons D won't be enough to overcome their 70 a game offense.
  21. Is there an online version of this Arkansas newspaper? I would like to read all I can on it.
  22. Seems like I heard he was headed to Stanford. I may be wrong though.
  23. This will be my last post on this subject cause I don't want to take over the orginal intent of the thread. I do disagree however. Nobody cares on the whole. A new TV deal was just signed that was crazy, it basically just put on the hockey games for free and will let the NHL get a cut of some of the advertising. Also, ESPN will cut next seasons games from around 80 to around 40. Does America really care about Calgary and Tampa Bay. Once the finals are over, pull out the ratings for each game and see how it compares to other sports. The WNBA will probably pass the NHL soon. Want to start a hockey thread than fine, but lets not ruin a thread started for something else. Go T-Wolves.
  24. If only the rest of the country agreed with you then the NHL might play next year.
