To me the biggest advantage for North Texas is actually getting these kids on campus and seeing our facilities. Normally some of these kids wouldn't give us the time of day and may ultimately be surprised by what we currently have and what is soon to come. (ie. Indoor practice facility, facility upgrades, etc.)

Is Raveon Hoston on the team? I follow him on Twitter and I love this guys work ethic. Obviously his grades suffered but I believe this guy is a beast if he gets on the field.

I'm just as excited as everybody else about the hiring of McCasland, but not so optimistic about competing with the other programs. The last 5 years really set us back.

I'm no expert on college basketball, but Fran was on the list the last time we were looking for a coach. He was also on the SMU list before they hired Brown. Why has this guy not taken or received a job offer yet?

I personally think Ray Harper would be a great hire and here's why: 1. We have regressed significantly over the last 5 years and we desperately need a coach that is proven. Even if he's only here for a short period of time. 2. He's hungry and probably has a chip on his shoulder due to the way things ended at WKU. 3. He has a history of bringing in quality assistants to help recruit.

Interesting, but I'd love to hear why you think we will be above UTSA and SMU.

I hate to be the negative one here, but every update they've made to the locker rooms in the past year looks half assed to me.

I say build a 6500-6750 person arena and make it a diamond with some suites, amazing locker rooms, state of the art technology, etc. I don't mind being smaller than other arenas, but it better shine brighter than the others and be able to sell recruits better.

Honestly considering how poorly we recruited this cycle, I think we should look at creating a recruiting team that could include both Trice and Orr. Hell, now we don't have to pay Ek so we could probably afford to bring on both. They could have dual responsibilities. Recruiting and helping their respective position coaches, while also learning what it takes to be a coach. However, their main responsibility would be to stay connected to recruits and build relationships that will ultimately help them once they take the next step.

Put me in the camp of being in favor of Zach becoming the LBs coach. If there is one former player that I think has the drive and passion to be successful in whatever he does, it's Zach Orr. Go back and listen to the Baltimore coaches talk about his work ethic. He was a student of the game and can now help teach other players who may not have the physical characteristics of a top 200 player make up for it just like he did.
