From what I've seen around campus it is just another week. They have the signs out everywhere for the pep rallies at Clark park for the home games but other than that, nothing of SMU that I"ve seen as a commuter/etrans bus rider.

I totally agree. I didn't know anything about Woody til Saturday. I was pro-Phillips before then but after seeing Matt throw to a ghost I choose to go with WW.

It just isn't right when college team has better equipment than the pros. They apparently have more money than they know what to do with, thus the $8 million big screen, temp pills, and cool jackets. These things are an advantage and make playing for Texas almost like playing for Mark Cuban. I think the NCAA should at least try to make some sort of "expenditure cap" if you will.

I think you guys are being a little harsh on the stater. He watched our game and commented on it. He didn't come in and say that ASU was going to whoop us. Go easy on the guy, he was just making friendly conversation til you guys turned it to an argument.

You guys don't know if they are a powerhouse again this year because they have only played us. Even some analyst said they would be better off playing themselves. Do you guys like this reputation? We got our butts kicked by a quarterback taking his first college snap....ever. Not cool. Once we see next week's game we will know if they are as good as you guys think. I happen to think that they aren't. If they were to finish say .500 ish for the season, would you guys still see this game the same way?

Am I the only one in the stadium that knew Texas was going to fake? There is no way the #2 team in the country is going to punt on 4th and 3 against one of the teams on the waiting list for ESPN's bottom 20. They are way too arrogant for that, especially at home. We were given a 41 point head start and couldn't even cover the spread.

He is right, tackling was terrible. Almost like they were so scared to miss that they would let the guy run right by.

I'm so proud of this guy for playing so hard. I wish we had a team full of Patrick Cobbs'. Although I was a diehard Oiler fan growing up, I am now forced to become a Steeler fan. I was a NE fan all preseason because of PC so now I'll just move over to Pitt.

Well let me start off by saying that I was in the stands, in all green gear, for the entire game without commercial interruptions. The first touchdown wouldn't have been a touchdown if we did anything but arm-tackle. Another thing that ticked me off is the three Mean Green players slowed down about the 20 as if it was a lost cause. Dive or something. My biggest gripe of the entire game is how in the world can you hope to compete anywhere if you can't come up with anything when starting at your opponents 24 yard line. Points there may have made the game interesting. It's a shame that you see people always saying that we played good for what we are up against. I was there and I'm here to tell you that is not the truth. Texas would have had their asses handed to them if it was Ohio State instead of us. All a Sun Belt title means is that you're the best of the worst in I-A. If you are content with that I feel for you. The Sun Belt was the best that could've happened for these types. It makes it easy to forget gettin our butts kicked in the Big West. I bleed green and can't accept this. I am by no means saying that we should have won this game. I am only saying that if we had played mistake free football the game would've ended more like 35-14 which sits with me a lot better than 56-7. I guess it helps to have a coach that believes in his team and doesn't expect to lose. Anyone can win on any given day except for those coached by an expectation to lose. You think that the players don't see and hear the coach say stuff like he did to the press about think about how much money we're making when we're gettin our asses handed to us at Texas. I've written so much I'm lost so there are probably tons of gramatical errors but I at least got that off my chest. Rant over. P.S. Woody Wilson gives me a new degree of hope for this season but I still don't think we should strive for mediocrity.

I think that the UT offense will not be smooth coming out. I think it will be a relatively low scoring game that ends at 37-3. We didn't get shut out last season even with the terrible offense we had. I think we'll throw up a couple. I think the first offensive play will be off tackle to JT for no gain. HOWEVER, I think if we send Graves on a backer blitz and he knocks McCoy's chinstrap off on the first play, UNT wins 14-10!

I believe that Phillips has a much better arm than Meager but isn't very mobile. I saw him sack on 2 or 3 (I can't remember) consecutive downs at home last year. To me it seems that Meager only completes passes to the other team but he is pretty mobile. I wish we could put Phillips upper body on Meager's legs and have a Scott Hall superstar. I was kinda hoping that Woody would be a good mix of the too plus having juco experience but I guess we'll see.
